How often bitcoin to be stolen? regarding about this news https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/dec/07/bitcoin-64m-cryptocurrency-stolen-hack-attack-marketplace-nicehash-passwords.
Is there any way to recover the stolen bitcoins?

Fun article from the guardian:
Quote
Mining marketplace NiceHash suspends operations while it co-operates with authorities over ‘professional attack’, urging users to change passwords

The hack was “a highly professional attack with sophisticated social engineering” that resulted in approximately 4,700 bitcoin being stolen, worth about $63.92m at current prices, said NiceHash head of marketing Andrej P Škraba.

First of all, your bitcoins are gone, and sorry for that, always when a hacker comes and hack the site he takes out the coins from the servers, but maybe for you as user can proceed by the legal way against the exchanger, because security is one of the services in their hands.

And talking about the highly professional attack with sophisticated social engineering, if it allows users to change passwords then was maybe a massive phishing mail spam. Sound like that to me, but not sure.

Why do you say is there a way to recover the stolen bitcoin?
While the article says:
The NiceHash mining market stopped operations when working with authorities regarding 'professional attacks', which prompted users to change passwords.
The company must be responsible for the loss of other people's property, the company must strengthen strict supervision of its customers. Don't let customers feel disappointed about losing their Bitcoin.

i have never heard about such possibility but to my mind it is possible to do this because today there are so many smart technologies and hackers who know how to do such difficult things

I think it's impossible. When Bitcoin is stolen, we have to accept it because there are no methods to recover Bitcoin. Perhaps we will have to start over from scratch.

It doesnt mean you have a private key or acces to your acc. It means you can get again your stolen bitcoin imagine the world with that do you think you will trust the blockchain? Cryptocurrency? With that ? For us investor's consumer's we should try to be more cautios or smart especially when the money you invested is at stake.

Well technically stolen bitcoins end up in the wallet of the Scammer or person who stole them. But that doesn’t have to be the end of your bitcoins. In recent times, there has been good reviews on C|EH recovery experts like [email protected] who are able to recover stolen cryptocurrencies, and I personally have been a victim to a scam on Bitfinance, and thought i had lost all my bitcoins and my account was also suspended, thanks to Blackwebs Recovery Services, I was able to recover all of the stolen bitcoins.

The answer is no, except the transaction still unconfirmed and you have private key or access to your wallet address, then still have a chance to do double spend and send it to your another address with higher fee or contact some miner to help the transaction confirmed faster. If the hacker already stole it and already spend it then its almost impossible to recover stolen bitcoin, even some hacker maybe using some bitcoin mixer and spend it anywhere to make it really hard to track.

In my opinion, having private key doesn't give you chance to recover stolen bitcoins as the hacker would have already took them away from victim's wallet. Once your wallet gets compromised, never use it again, new wallet is recommended with more care in this case.
It is always possible to recover your losses if you don't lose hope and start again from beginning

It will be stolen again if they stay careless about it and that’s the simple case. However, getting the stolen bitcoin back is not going to be very easy. As long as you have the private keys you can play with the whole thing but when you don’t have it then you can just well wander around that’s all.

So your article says that it was a sophisticated hack of the exchange. Sometime I feel that these exchangers are doing all this in purpose so that they can claim the insurance. Is that a thing that’s possible really?

You can even recover the stolen bitcoin case you will start again at the beginning. but it's easy to start again if you do not lose hope. The others answers here point out that in practice in 2018, what you’re asking for is probably not possible. Bitcoin addresses can sometimes be de-anonymized though, so the address of the (unintended) new owner of your bitcoin could maybe be used as the starting point to a lawsuit.
