about 4th halving countdown and your stories on when did you heard about bitcoin. I was thinking for this upcoming halving, can bitcoin talk send a mass emailer or a vote option to all registered users to gauge when did they first heard about bitcoin?
Do you think the admin of this forum are idle and looking for more activities to complicate the already tight and busy schedule with forum and other life activities? @OP, I am sure the admin needs more time for rest, than extra work time.

I don't see any need for your suggestion by the way, It is a forum for discussion, and it is okay for these kind of topics to be discussed openly not the Admin sending PM's.

You can basically take a look at when the user registered. He probably create an account a few months after getting really interested or invested in bitcoin.  No need to send emails or messages..

But you can message particular users and ask them to answer in your topic.

The thread you created on Bitcoin Discussions is more than enough. the admin sending PMs to all users(asking about their story and when they found out about bitcoin) will just become an unnecessary hassle.

just like BitMaxz, I am curious what exactly it is that you are trying to achieve here?

If admin has such interest then he can add it on the News section which is right above the forum menus on the left.

Why do you need bulk pm to everyone when you already created a poll for that purpose. All you need do is make the thread have more engagement by arranging it well and inviting some more hands to join the poll. But of what importance is this idea that will warrant the forum admin to disturb the peace of all the users of the forum to get answers.

I agree with posts above that's notreally needed. Do you really think that this questions is such important that we need to disturb every Bitcointalk member with it? And your topic would just turn into huge spam megathread.
I think that theymos have such ability to send PM's to all users at once, but such thing should be used just for something extremely important, like warning about big security vulnerabilities.

Is it really necessary to answer your question that you even need an admin to PM all of the users?
Its easier for him to ask the Admins as doing it him self as he maybe is aware that when he is sending this kind of PMs its possible to get a Temp Ban.

and your stories on when did you heard about bitcoin.
There are already so many Threads about how Users or People found the way to Bitcoin or into the Forum.
So its for sure an NO from me for sending out to every User a PM for that , your Thread should be enough for that all.
Just my 2 cents.

Is it really necessary to answer your question that you even need an admin to PM all of the users? Even the most important announcement posts, admin never spammed through PM its users just to know what are those, how much more just to someone's survey.

Block halving is coming.
There's no mass emailer here on the forum maybe you can send PM manually to any forum members you want but for instant mass email or bulk PM, you can't find these tools here on the forum.

What exactly do you want to achieve? If you want to let others know your thread why not wear it as your signature?

Is this really necessary? It feels like Spamming if the admins should do that. Don't you think so? Your thread is enough and it shouldn't be like voting is being forced down the throat of users. The halving is a great event that we look forward to but not everyone is as enthusiastic as you because they got their own reasons for holding Bitcoin which could even transcend beyond the halving. By the way, do you intend to write an article about it from the results of the poll?
