Topic: can this ASRock mobo (M3A770DE) handle 3x6870s? (Read 2029 times)
i had this MB and changed it in a week! i was running 2x 5870 and there were 4 mm left between the cards, the top one going to 100C without OC-ing. i strongly recomand against it!!!
get one with more space. i changed it with a MSI 870A-g54 20 dollars more expensive but my top card now stays at 70C the bottom one dosent go above 65.

that mobo is $35 more at amazon. but anyway thanks for the info. i alrdy ordered the ASRock though.

No, there's not enough room. Usually there never is when using a x1 slot. You'll need to place the card somewhere randomly in the case...
If you don't already own this board, I would strongly suggest getting this one instead. Much less fuss.

can this mobo handle 3x Radeon 6870s? ASRock AM3 processors AMD 770-140W (M3A770DE)

I know there are 2 PCI-e slots with enough distance between them so 2 is definitely OK.
For the 3rd PCI-x 1x slot I need a PCI Express X1 to X16 Adapter.
However looking at the picture of the mobo i'm wondering is there enough room to fit the 3rd card?
if not then i guess that means I need a PCI -> PCI-Express adapter and plug the 3rd card into that?
