Some buyers wait for receiving miners and switch it with broken machines. They keep the miners and get the refund from the escrow. Sellers need to find a way to mark their miners.

Life with crypto....Otherwise go to ebay I say...if every newbie just came here and asked for $10s of thousand of dollars from someone anonymously with a payment that is irreversible there would be noare here.  Escrow and escrow only allows for us to transact in bitcoin...

Idk, who cares? Newbies are free to ask for anything just like any other user. It doesn't mean they or anyone else should get a deal without escrow, but if they do it's just the other person's stupidity. Bitcointalk has made it very clear that they won't ban people because they scam etc.

BitmastersINC is a scammer.

No proof of hardware being sold or proof of hardware being collected or using escrow.

Absolute scam including website do not trust.

SCAM 100%.

To go along with 95% of other scams on the selling pages here.

Do not trade unless you're 100% sure its legit.

Ask a reputable member if you're unsure.

Never once when people asked for some assurance that they actually have them have they answered.  Side steps every request.  Deletes thread starts a new one repeatedly.  All tell tale signs....

@ Mods & Community,

I vote for both:
1. Escrow must be accepted by all sellers, however they have the option to additionally not use escrow when selling as long as they offer it.

2. All sellers must post an asking price in their selling threads

All seller threads not offering escrow or listing an asking price would be locked immediately. This is similar to how it works on reddit r/hardwareswap and works very well (they mostly use paypal instead of escrow though)

Yup... that's fair... if both the seller and buyer doesn't want escrow, then that's their gamble. Sellers with asking price is an excellent idea as well. None of that "PM me for prices" nonsense. Exceptions only for customized items/services where the price depends on buyer's specifications/requirements.

Did you register just to post this??
or is this a "new" account from another member who may be trying to sell shit withOUT Escrow?? lol

No, i just give my opinion i am not selling anything and i am not saying you should buy without escrow, i said i understand some people who will
not accept it because only the buyer is protected and also to be careful.

And i don't have any other account, i checked for a long time on this forum the topics and now created an account.

What makes you think the seller isn't protected. If the item is as per description, then the money is released to the seller. If the seller says it works, and the buyer says it doesnt, then its only common sense that the buyer returns the product and the money released back to the seller after the tracking number confirms receipt. The only loss for both parties is shipping costs... so not sure why either party would subject themselves to that loss. Escrows are trusted members of the community who are mediators who resolves disputes, dictate the terms of the trade, suggest fraud prevent measures that's fair for both parties. They are not just a mechanical third party who holds the money till the buyer receives their item. An escrow is putting up his reputation on the line for a win-win fair trade to take place... and that is usually more priceless than the value of the item sold.

I think every seller is free to sell items how he wants with or without escrow and if without doesn't mean you are a scammer or deserve red paint.
Of course wont send 2-3k$ to a stranger but lets be honest newbie or legendary it say nothing and even a person who did escrow many times
can still run away in the end with funds and seller is fucked up because buyer paid already.

I guess if someone don't want to use escrow find a way together to close a deal, if it is not feeling right then buy somewhere else and yes to be careful
is normal.

Escrow only protects the buyer not the seller.

I agree... the newbie accounts looking to sell their miners is beginning to become like a rodent menace. Im not sure how flexible the backend code for forums are, so cant really suggest how to implement it. My suggestion for the simplest thing to do would be to make the Marketplace section a place where a new thread cannot be opened unless you are at least a Jr. Member. Its a no brainer because Bitcointalk is probably the last place on the list if you search on google for platforms where you want to sell your mining equipments. So the whole "genuine newbie" theory is thrown out the window even if you want to bend over backwards and give them the benefit of a doubt.

Moreover, having the Jr. member also allows one to quickly scan their posts and lets you determine if they are simplistic bot messages or real conversations. It lets you make an informed decision about whether you want to buy stuff from them or not. Escrows are a no brainer... newbie or full on Legendary. But it doesnt help in any way about the spam of [WTS] threads out there. Wading through all that shit if you missed a few days of bitcointalk is like going through your email spam folder looking for that activation link you've been waiting for over 10 mins. And that leads to missing out on real threads that are drowned to the next pages.

I've informed the moderators just now with a link to the thread. Hopefully some positive action will be taken to curb this menace.

As someone who has made good deals and been screwed over.

You as the buyer/seller have to do what you are comfortable with. I have sold equipment to people all across Canada that I have not met in person, at the moment I do not use escrow for high value shipments, because last time I lost a few hundred dollars during the price dip, because it turned out to be a scam... That being said I did not lose everything because we used an excellent Escrow Agent. If when making these deals I don't need to convert everything back top cash ASAP or it's for a smaller dollar amount; I like the idea of Escrow and the trust and relationships it can build.

I usually use Paypal and split the fees associated with being able to offer Buyer and Seller protection with whoever is purchasing from me.

In the end decide what kind of risk you are willing to take, and don't let the buyer/seller take you into uncomfortable/uncharted territory.

So wheres the happy medium??

I mean I dont wanna send $2500 to a guy who started an account yesterday

Then don't it's that easy.  I always encourage escrow and always like to use escrow when need be.  Just pass by if you aren't comfortable

My fear of escrow is i ship they say no good btc gets returned and they keep machine.

this

My fear of escrow is i ship they say no good btc gets returned and they keep machine.

and this

Its free will to chose using escrow or not.
People should not even receive bad rep for their choice.
The people who wants fair and legit trade will always want proven legit member or escrow.
Its up to the buyer how he will act for his own safety.
End.

exactly....

As far as I remember there were various topics (or similar ones) made in regards to suggestions for the new forum.
Unfortunately there's not much regular members can do when newbies don't want to accept Escrow other than warning others on the thread.
I think it should be a given though. Any new/low level member not prepared to accept Escrow shouldn't be trusted to trade with.

Good point that's why when sending high valued equipment I document as much as I can so I can provide to the escrow agent if need be.  With that being said, rarely happens but good point.

I know im FAR from a seasoned Vet of this place but I'm a buyer here and the amount of brand new accounts selling stuff who refuse (or ignore requests for) Escrow is INSANE.

can we do something about  it??

I'm looking for a decent priced S9 and all I see is brand new accounts no escrow!!!!

might as well use this time to say.

anyone know a trusted member with an S9 for sale? lol
