I don't see the point of having a tournament only for forum members. If you want to play a tournament just join one of any of the gambling sites. To play with an amount of 0.0005 , its rather better to just join a freeroll

PS: Swc tournament starts in the next 2 minutes.

hmm this really looks interesting, I will probably participate on the next one.
I see on the announcement "Saturday November 14th, 2015", so I believe this one is gone. Is this going to be a regular thing?

I agree with u guys, but lets take small steps first. Can we make 2 tables with 6 players. Every table is semifinal, so first 3 from table go finnal.

There are 6 seats per table.  No limit on tables. I think people are misunderstanding what a 6 seat table is.

If there are 30 entrants, and 6 people per table, there will be 5 total tables of 6 people

Last tournament we had 34 entrants, so we had 5 tables that condensed down as people got knocked out.

OshiMike u missing the point, I thought to make tournament for us here on forum. No limit game is a cash game, the one who have more then others have a big advantage. Tournament is different we all have same amount, and just your skill and luck is important. I said two tables cause i doubt we can gather more then that for first time. If manage that later will be more players and more table's I hope.
My suggestion was to make this together. To be more like friends game with not so big buy in. Here we all know to play poker and rules, so OshiMike if u wish to play and hangout with us why dont u tell us when u are free to play and do u have some suggestions where we can play?

Apologies if I am not understanding.  We have a tournament going now at https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/27122015-finale-bitcointalk-6-seat-no-limit-showdown-series-at-betcoinag-1243125

We started it last weekend and had 34 people play, it was a great time!

I think directbet just announced a similar tournament,I'm not really sure about it though. The main problem organizing the poker tournament is the time zone.People here are from different countries and different time zones. That would turn down a lot of participants as time frames wont be negotiable. But if somehow that is solved, this can be a huge idea. Also  the tournament should be hosted on one of the best gambling sites like PrimeDice .

I would love to have a weekly tourney but would like it to start with at least a full table not just 6 players - even something with 20 people would better
The tournament had over 20 players, 34 in fact. The tables were 6-max tables. Does it really matter? They prolly chose 6-max tables since they weren't sure exactly how many runners would show up. Would have been kinda lame/awkward if only 11 people showed up and it was 9-max tables. Maybe they'll change if more people preferred 9- or 10-max, idk.

For me 6 players tables are perfect. It will be even better when after 7-10 games can be shuffle.

I'm sure that if it work out first time, then make this weekly will be no problem.

I prefer 6-max tables also. It induces more action and makes the game faster and less monotonous. Players with a nitty play style would prolly prefer the 9-max or 10-max tables. So boring and slow imo.

Well we couldn`t agree nothing by now. There is not enough will it think. I still hoping to play with some of u guy`s. I asked before i will ask again, can we find a time that suits for most of us? Share your thinking, when can u play? I said in evening i can, europe time. Sometimes even on day, depends which day... from now i`m no.1 for this poker. Is there 8 more players? S

Good idea to give the best time! For me, similar like for you - the best evening or afternoon European time, but I think I could be more flexible.

Betcoin.AG has been kind enough to host a tournament for us.

Some of you may say why betcoin.ag and not another poker site?
or why a 11mBTC buyin?
or why this specific time?

I feel this is the meet-in-the-middle solution!

If this goes a head try find a poker room which doesn't use Mavern Software as it is possible for the owner of the site to see all the hole cards on the tables.
I guess swc and betcoin.ag are a few good sites where this can happen. Don't know if they are on maven, but they are pretty good imo.

They both aren't "on Mavens software" and are both highly trustable in my opinion (not only mine I guess).

Feel free to Pm me if/when tournament will be held.

Take in consideration we live in different timezones and we should choose a schedule who will fit the majority of us: maybe a poll could help with this.

I think there is people here that actively play poker for sure. I wonder is it possible to organize one. It would be nice if we can organize some tournament with some buy in like 0.0005 btc or less, maybe more ( depends how serious playes would like to play). I don`t know did u ever think about it, I search for similar thead but i couldn`t find. For sure that can be interesting, to test skills between us and to see who is the best poker player here.

Need to find a site which offers private tournaments, funny enough pokerstars offers password protected games, also cash games. ARGH! when willl they just have bitcoin games!

I wouldn't trust Seals now that the multi accounting scam is erupting. Pokerstars on the other hand have been going for years. There's a few people on here wanting to swap Pokerstars for BTC.

The only thing about pokerstars is that there are those of us from the US who wouldn't be able to join in. I don't know how many of us there are from Mercuh who are interested in this bitcointalk poker tourney, but I'm one of them. I vote for betcoin.ag so anyone from anywhere might be able to play.

I could maybe help with some of that, it just sucks to support pokerstars like that when they aren't supporting bitcoin.  They are the best though Sad

We would happily host this tournament with whatever buyin, time, and other specifics you all decide.  The tournament could be password protected or strictly ticket entry.  We look forward to your feedback.

We have biggest problem solved!!! I think we are going in good direction, let`s discuss about buy in (not to be to small or to big) and of course time. I will repeat my first thought about 100 000 satoshi buy in, and time im from Europe i have free evenings and nights, I can also play in time of day but not always.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but if you use betcoin.ag, I believe their lowest unit is one chip which is 1 mbtc or 0.001 btc. So anything less than 1 mbtc buy-in wouldn't be possible. Unless it IS possible, idk.

Maybe something around 1-5 mbtc buy-in? Low enough to get people to join and enough of an amount to make it worth everyone's while.

5 mBtc buy-in is fine for me. I also usually play poker on betcoin.ag
so i think betcoin.ag support is the best chance for us to meet up in some sit'n go table.

We need 9 players to make this game Live.

I'm in for this game.
Can you make all 9 players in your first post iv4n?

Like usual, in sit n go, only 3 people got prize.
Password and time must be given from Betcoin.AG PM.

Thank you, Betcoin.AG

Great idea OP. I would definitely be interested in this. It would be fun playing poker with other bitcointalk forum members. I would be biased toward having it at betcoin.ag of course since (Full Disclosure) that's where I mostly play, not to mention I'm on their sig campaign.

I think it would be easy to set up. The Betcoin.ag Rep. in post #7 has already offered to host a private tournament(s) for this purpose. They already have much experience hosting private password protected poker tournaments for other forums and groups from what I can tell.

Depending on the numbers/interest, it could become a regular thing like a monthly/weekly/bi-weekly/daily etc thing with varying times so that people from different time zones and schedules can participate. And if it were password protected, we'd know it would be people from bitcointalk and not randoms. The password could be pm'ed to those  who request it here on the forums.

Whoever is in charge would just post the date/time/site/table name etc for the tournament that day or week or month or whatever and then pm the password to those interested who replied to that post/announcement. Whoever can show up to the tourney show up. Those who can't make it, maybe the next tourney date/time will be better.

As i see some people think this is imposible, some think this can be a nice thing. I clearly said CAN WE ORGANIZE. We together, more like some friends game with not so big buy in. I see many people are interested, some are not and they are criticize. That just fall on my mind last night, I spend time here why not to play a game or two..I also asked is it possible, cause I know how much things needs to be donne and how hard that can be. But as I see maybe there is a chance..

I bookmarked this thread.
If the buy-in fee is small, maybe we can hook up in some poker site and play together.

I look forward to playing with some forum members instead of getting fleeced by donkeys. Clicked notify so will keep me informed of any games that are going on. Who's getting the beers in ?  Grin

I don't understand this thread or anyone posting in it.

If you wanna play a poker tourny so bad why not do it on one of the existing poker sites?

I think the idea was to select the page on which such a meeting can be arranged. All visitors of this section know that there are sites where tournaments are held.

Let the user who would want to sponsor the even to create the page. This way it can attract more attention to anyone in the forum and maybe acquire more sponsor for this event.

If this goes a head try find a poker room which doesn't use Mavern Software as it is possible for the owner of the site to see all the hole cards on the tables.
I guess swc and betcoin.ag are a few good sites where this can happen. Don't know if they are on maven, but they are pretty good imo.

I prefer Seals With Clubs even though the software has been giving me problems almost everytime I login and tried explaining the situation on their thread but it hasn't been resolved.

Im not sure what you don't understand.  We want to play each other, not randoms on the internet. I don't want to 'play so bad'.  I want to play my peers here....  We can always go play a tournament with randoms, but it would be fun to play against others here.  Hence this post.  That help you understand?

hello

we right now offering a Hold'em All-In contest and looking for minimum of 10 registered users to get it started.

it is always All-In and for the lucky ones. the regular or pro holdem player might say that is not real poker. but the average player and non pro will enjoy the game.

please check out the contest details and info link

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.12903430

we offer to all users who posted in this thread before us "A free bet" to get a better understanding for our unique game and please let me explain the free bet in short.

we have a 10 seat table. our Mod toto will place a bet of 500 bits on 9 seats against the seat you will tell him to bet against. if the seat you told the Mod lost we will lose the coins and  not you that means it was a free bet.

if one of the 9 seats will win you will get the profit of this bet. in case the Royal Flush Jackpot is hit we will split the Jackpot 162430 bits with you

good luck

You can try but I don't think it will work, a lot of poker sites have tournaments everyday, paid as well as freerolls but usually people prefer to play the freerolls and no one enters the paid ones. Also, not every one is on same time zone, so not everyone can be available at same time.

There could be multiple tournaments at the following weeks and people could choose when to participate. The reason of no people participating would be the high amount of players needed, therefore if a small tournament of atleast 4 people could be arranged than its all good

Do you mean to have a bitcointalk users only poker tourny? I am up for it. Though there are already many tournaments that keep on taking place but still it would be fun to play. Where would you like to organize this tourny?

I think it is possible but the most important thing is about the time of the tournament because of different timezone. Its hard to find the best time that appropriate to all players.

We would happily host this tournament with whatever buyin, time, and other specifics you all decide.  The tournament could be password protected or strictly ticket entry.  We look forward to your feedback.

it seems OP got a possible sponsor now for the possible tournament. i might join this tournament if i can afford the buy in prize as im not really good at playing poker but i can join the fun for this. count me in if you ever try to start a tourney Smiley

The problem with this idea is you will see alot of users say theyre interested but hardly any of them would show up. You gotta realize that half the ppl or more who post on here are only doing so because of the signature they are wearing.

We can ask people to pay some amount as a guarantee he will show up, if he doesnt show up then the guarantee amount will go to the winner pot instead

The second problem is finding a place to host the tourney if by some miracle you get 10-20 guys interested who decide to actually play. MOst sites that i know of dont make a special tourney for a group.

I think luckyflop will want to help with this imo, so problem 2 could be considered solved

Problem number 3 is you cannot decide whos the best poker player over the course of 1 tourney. You can find out who is the best THAT day but thats about it. Anyways good luck trying to organize this as i doubt youll have any luck

I'd be interested as well. Poker sites support multiple players already so it must be great if one of these poker sites sponsor such event and help planing it.

Betcoin.AG has been kind enough to host a tournament for us.

Some of you may say why betcoin.ag and not another poker site?
or why a 11mBTC buyin?
or why this specific time?

I feel this is the meet-in-the-middle solution!
