Do you think it is good to teach kids in school about crypto and blockchain?
Or should we see education about crypto and blockchain in higher education?+
I think it would bring great change in next generations, as maybe people of today are not yet mature enough to accept idea of decentralization.
I think it would be so cool to learn about Blockchain in our universities. So that it will give us mass adoption of Cryptocurrency in near future.

There is nothing impossible to do including teaching about cryptocurrency in college. But we are definitely faced with the process before doing that. As we know in some countries there are still many who oppose the existence of cryptocurrencies. Maybe in a country where it is legalized we can do that easily, but in a country that refuses to exist, it might be considered an illegal act. We have to consider this as well because this is indeed a good action, but on the other hand it is possible that something like this will be detrimental to the cryptocurrency itself.

I don't think it would be ideal to introduce children between the age of 1-10 to the crypto space except if they have an uncommon interest or knowledge. Children at this stage should focus on some foundational learning that would improve both their emotional and educational well-being. The syllabus of both the nursery and primary school has enough financial and educational topics that would serve as a springboard for the introduction of crypto and blockchain in the nearest future. Children should be allowed to enjoy their childhood stage and not be bombarded with strange terms or concepts.

Senior secondary school and the higher education level is the ideal time to introduce students to the crypto space. At this stage, they can be able to comprehend and understand the workings or the operation of the crypto industry. There are many universities that offer courses on blockchain and other related areas. Some schools in El Salvador are offering diploma and other certificate courses on Bitcoin technology.

Bitcoin education is the bedrock for the mass adoption of the currency. People need to learn about Bitcoin and understand some uncommon opportunities it offers. Although we need some scholarly work on Bitcoin from universities, one doesn't need to enroll in any of these universities to learn about Bitcoin. The internet is filled with enough information that can give even a dummy comprehensive knowledge about the Bitcoin space.

Teaching kids about bitcoin? Even Fiat currency a kid of 1-3 years have not known or can not differentiate the different denominations and here you are saying you want to teach kids about bitcoin, That is not advisable. Kids in the house can learn bitcoin gradually from you if you mention it every time.

Cryptocurrency or blockchain should be taught from post primary to university level not on pre-premary. What do you even think that you want to teach pre-premary kids?  It is not good to teach at that stage.

The best stage to teach bitcoin is colleges and universitie. But it can be taught in the secondary School level as orientation class. There are some bright students in the secondary School level can also learn it in a deep way. But not all.  And for now, it is not all schools accept to teach cryptocurrency or blockchain. And not all Countries have adopted it on their Countries so blockchain is not on the school curriculum for now.

If you want to introduce it in your school. It is okay.

Kids are the future leaders of tomorrow, and teaching them at a tender age about Bitcoin a "fast growing decentralized digital currency" will be of great advantage to the growth and development, because Bitcoin is already 13yrs in it's existence as a digital currency and as such teaching kids of its basic fundamental, full meaning of most commonly used Bitcoin/crypto acrynoms, terms,  names and biography of top people in the history and development of Bitcoin such as "Satoshi" e.t.c will be one of the best initiative ever made

Beefcake!!!
I think it doesn't matter that much. Most people will end up using some form of crypto eventually, just like most of us use some form of motorized transportation. But, how many people who ride in a car or bus or whatever understands what the 4 stroke cycle is, or the difference between a 4 stroke and 2 stroke motor, or what the distributor cap does, etc. It is useful, so they use it. As things progress, solutions continue to evolve that require less technical expertise, and people get used to using it. Some day, it will be common just like credit cards, and most people will just use it. Those who want to dig further will do so, but I think most people aren't interested in how it works. All that said, I don't think it's a bad idea to offer classes. Probably see 4 year crypto bachelor's degrees sooner or later.

I don’t know about Cryptos, but yes college students are learning about blockchains.
In my country, the bachelor degree has the option to pursue degree in computer science and engineering and that too Blockchain as specialisation.
I have also seen that college students are learning about encryption etc, which is a part of Bitcoins or cryptos.
So definitely we can say that in future, cryptos and Bitcoins specifically will be taught in colleges. They gonna surely add this in Economics section to completely focus on decentralisation.

For me this is not so important, if the category of children you mean is still under 15 years old, ideally children at that age should learn to find their identity and learn the principles of life through the available curriculum.

I think it would be so cool to learn about Blockchain in our universities. So that it will give us mass adoption of Cryptocurrency in near future.
If this curriculum is available in universities, it may be true that the growth of mass adoption of Cryptocurrency will run very fast, and at the age of an adult, universities are a place to get to know other sciences outside the available curriculum.
That's why education at the University is not limited to existing subjects, if these factors have been met, then this step is more likely to be done than junior high school.

I think you can, as long as you have the will to teach about bitcoin and blockchain, like many of our friends in this forum who teach about bitcoin, but of course you have to look at the situation first,
but I think if you teach about bitcoin and blockchain to students who don't know about bitcoin and blockchain, I think they will welcome it, because teaching bitcoin and blockchain will build great potential for the future of students, and will also help their economy, for those who are interested in investing in bitcoin.

Yes, we can teach about cryptocurrency in detail in higher education but teach about summary of cryptocurrency in school because they will not learn much about cryptocurrency. As they grow up , they will be able to understand in detail of this. But ya u can teach them without the messy concept because cryptocurrency seems very simple but it is logical and critical idea to store something which is available to all world

I believe that the basics about cryptos, blockchain and Bitcoin should be taught at school and at universities. It's not an 'either-or' situation. At school, the most obvious integration is into Economics and into IT classes. At universities, it can depend on a degree a person is getting and the courses students choose based on their interests. This way, some will be left with the basics they learned at school, while others will be able to dive into more detail if they want to do that.
Also, the op is talking about schools and unis as a hypothetical, but in fact, it's already the case at some places. I remember that cryptos were included into school curriculum in France nationwide, for instance. There are also individual schools and cases in other countries, to the very least. As for universities, it seems more widespread and some crypto-related courses are offered in many countries, while some, I believe, even offer blockchain-related degrees or specializations.

I think there are already sections or lessons about Bitcoin and crypto already in many universities. I think its possible because there are people who may be called Bitcoin or Blockchain professional right now. It wasn't exactly possible 5 years ago. World is changing in rapid speed so I believe, not Bitcoin but Blockchain based direct courses (with high credits) may be included in software based programs in universities (Maybe it already exists).

I don't think allowed teach about cryptocurrency in universities depending policies of government in your country have allowed using bitcoin as legal transaction and investment or still illegal for cryptocurrency. Before adapting and teaching about cryptocurrency on Universities I think looking Minister of Education rule they have include with cryptocurrency as subject in Universities or not.

Seems if Bitcoin and cryptocurrency not get legalize from government you can't teach bitcoin and give education as formal in Universities because need allowed from Minister of Education in your country, maybe just teaching informal seems allowed without include as subject in universities.

If some schools since 2017-2018 have been accepting crypto as payment for their studies or tuition fee then obviously they should also teach blockchain courses as well as this is the new trend.

And as far as our country goes, yeah

Philippine universities will offer free courses on Bitcoin and other digital assets in partnership with Binance.

So this could be a could start plus there are also universities around the world that have been offering courses as well. So it's a win win for our next generation.

Why shouldn't you?
Blockchain is the future technology and Bitcoin is the future gold. Do elementary students not know what gold is? They should know what Bitcoin is well.
Future belongs to blockchain, DeFi, cryptocurrency and digital worlds like metaverse.
Go ahead and talk to them; help them understand these...

Courses about Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, blockchain are more popular in recent years.

[LIST] Institutions offering blockchain courses and programs in the world.

Your question, can or can not teach about it in your class, I don't know. It depends on policies of government and of that university or college. If government does not prohibit it, you can propose it to that university or college. You must get approval before you can start teaching about that officially.

Why note, it's something worth doing but you must be careful to limit the knowledge to their respective age and ensure you only start a the preliminary level

Or should we see education about crypto and blockchain in higher education?

It can also be taught in higher academic level and this time in the advance level, but it just has to go along with courses related to finances and including cryoto and blockchain technology as a topic or subject is a very good idea since that's the level the world economy and financial system newly operates in.

Crypto(bitcoin) should be taught to everybody of age 15yrs and above, and it can be taught anywhere not especially in schools. School is the best place to educate the students about bitcoin since they are the leaders of tomorrow,I mean from Senior secondary school and above are the students that should have this knowledge.

The reason why I said it should not be taught in school alone is because bitcoin awareness is still spreading, some persons have  the awareness and some don't have, and some person have the awareness but they don't understand or like the concept because it hasn't be adopted in their country especially the old ones.

So my point is this those people that are not privilege to attend higher institution, will you say they don't need bitcoin awareness or education, no it is a digital currency ,that the purpose for its creation is for financial freedom . Bitcoin should be taught every place that brings people together, for example schools, place of work, market place, neighborhood, meetings and if possible also in church.

Teaching it in all these mentioned places will help the spread and education faster, whatever you know its good and benefitable like bitcoin knowledge to you is also good for everyone,if you are benefiting from bitcoin directly or indirectly then you need to give the awareness to other people around you not just for only a specific persons.

Thanks
