Thats an interesting idea and I think its not that crazy if you think of it more. It might actually be a good thing if you would be able to control that and decide which personality time it is right now and which needs to waite. Otherwise...

There is an excellent book by Philip José Farmer, Dayworld (1985), where the main character has 7 identities and he is switching between them every day of the week - so he is 7 different people, each of them is living only on a specific day of the week, always the same. And, of course, each of them with his own personality.

I have not really thought about this. It made me have to stay up late to think how to develop more personality as you say?

People automatically have multiple personalities. The reason we don't see it in each other is that we all have a central authority in us that combines our multiple personalities into one personality. If the central authority in us, or the pathways that send commands to the various personalities in us, happen to become disrupted for some reason, the multiple personalities can express themselves individually at different times, in very emphatic ways.

One of the strongest examples of multiple personalities expressing themselves in people is in people who have a mild to medium stroke. A stroke disrupts the central authority a person has in himself, and/or the control pathways to the different personalities. Many people can tell you stories of friends or loved ones who, after having a stroke, jumped into different aspects of their lives with great vigor and zeal. For example. Sometimes they are very emotional talking about childhood. Sometimes the become wildly angry about politics. Other times they might be more loving than ever towards some good friend or their spouse. Other times they are angry with the same friends, and can't be talked into a calm mood.

Check out yourself for your different personalities. At times you might be concentrating on a project. Other times you might be relaxed in a good game on TV. Still other times you might be in an almost over-compelling desire to make love. But if you are normal and healthy, you can talk yourself out of these moods, which are really various personalities that are living together within you.

Cool
This reminds me of that Disney movie, Inside Out. In the movie, there's a little girl and we can see inside her head. She has little people in her head that take turns controlling her actions. Each little person represents an emotion. There is joy, sadness, anger, disgust, and fear. When each is in control, he/she displays traits according to his/her name. It's a really neat idea. They are always fighting in her head as to what decisions they should make. I suppose this is an example of decentralization. Haha.

This is a very good post, I have been thinking similar things for a while. It seems that our "self" is blending the transition from one personality to the other one in a way that it does not notice what's going on. Possibly, noticing that you are switching personality would produce destabilizing effects. For practical reasons we have to live the illusion to be single persons.

How can you even develop multiple personalities in the first place.it's just impossible and most of the time those with multiple personalities seems to be psychotic.

So did I Smiley But I guess that to get updates we will have to wait that the same personality who was in charge at the moment of posting is in control of the body again.

We are already seeing adoption of this innovation.

Beyonce has Sasha Fierce.

Nicki Minaj has that weird thing she does when she starts talking in a bunch of weird voices and accents. I don't know what to call it, but I think that's what you mean.

You can do much more: as your new personality must be validated; when this happens, you receive also half personality more.
You can join this half personality with an other half one, so you'll have another brand new personality to spend.
This allows you to validate the personality of another people, and so on.
Just take care that some of these personalities don't start to behave too autonomously ...

Centralization is bad, decentralization is good. By now we all have memorized this dogma. But what's about our own identities, and the identities of people in the future. Identity is the centralization of the self, but is such a condition coherent in a world which struggles for more and more decentralization? We aim at decentralizing everything, so why not finally decentralize also ourselves?
The solution IMHO goes through progressive developement of multiple personalities. This would finally decentralize our selves. Centralized society calls this feature "Multiple Personality Disorder" and considers it a psychological pathology, just as they consider Bitcoin & C. a monetary pathology.
By what if this would actually be our inevitable and auspicable future?
Developing multiple personalities clearly means decentralizing yourself.
So are you ready to decentralize yourself by opening the gates of your self and starting to grow multiple personalities? Smiley
