At what point (what transaction value) it makes sense start using escrow?
1$, 10$, 50$....?

At what price you started loving yiur price lol...

You can use it at any price if you dont want to loose it, it may be 1$ or it can be 100.

best rule to go by: if it seems too good to be true then it probably is.

Should i said +1 most probably it may be

usually people that loan on here are the ones that talk about being scammed and get scammed. but you can be scammed from your wallet by a virus.

It may be, but if you use an escrow then you will be safe. Some time you were scamed by ponzi site. So dont go there they always scam you earliar or later.

I never get scam  Grin
There a lot of escrow service here.
Scammer can't do anything  Wink

How can I prevent to get scamed?I understand the rules of escrow, ok. But if I want to trade some rare or unpopular coin may I expect that the escrow provider will have his own local wallet to get coins first and then send them to me after my payment?

Maybe this will help…

After posting this thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/are-you-spending-your-bitcoin-882055 , many people wanted to know that how do you scammed by someone. It will be helpful for the beginners  Wink and So other can avoid this thing and can save his money from scammers.

So please tell us

1. How do you scammed by someone and how much?

Thanks

Who will share his story Shocked , I've never got scammed or scammed someone , never ! not even once . Because I simply never go first and if I do I make sure that the member is high trusted and made a lot of trades with High amounts of money before . It's really not that hard to avoid scammers to be honest (at least it's not for me)

But some time some one don't care about this
Like me first time when I was scammed by some one he is paying me little higher amount then other I traded my amount with him, he has some reputation but not much just one or 2 trades but he scammed me. And fly after taking my all amount.

The point is never sell or trade with those who are paying the more amount then other, and see his reputation, whether he is a reputable member or not. And always use escrow.

Thanks

You can always use an escrow if you're trading with a larger amounts of btc. You can afford to lose 2-3$, but it's a diferent story when there's 50$ involved.

First time i lost 70$ in trading my stellar. And never learned from it and second time i lost 60 $.

Third time it was my biggest mistake and i lost almost 90$ while trading my stellar in a site.

I read some reports earlier that coinbase has banned some accounts just because they have transactions to and from gambling sites, but generally speaking the two sites have been working pretty well as of today.

But we can never be sure if they will one day turn rogue. Mtgox was looking good, so as TradeFortress.

Yes he is right . who knows, now these sites are looking good and legit. Who knows when these sites will scam you.

Also be careful with cloud mining sites, a lot (if not all) of them are ponzis.

Read up here. Smiley
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/cloudmining-101-ponzi-risk-assessment-878387

Yea nice work by you really appreciating.

Thanks for informing us and providing the link

Thanks

All credits should go to Puppet, really.

I was actually scammed by PBMining, which is already listed as a collapsed ponzi in Puppet's guide, late last month before I found this forum. Sad

Now I just stay away from cloud mining sites in general.

No problem

That's why I created this thread so that its comes to our knoldge that how some one has been scammed and from which site. So that we can avoid these ways and sites

Anyways thanks

From Mt.Gox.

You can't avoid it if you use online wallets / exchanges but always make sure not to store large amounts on them.
