I don't think sitting on my ass for 24 hours and reading Bitcointalk / Reddit would make me very happy, so no.

if I can cover my bills for an on-going per year basis then yes.

it would have to be a significant amount of bitcoins.

All things are not so easy in life - in fact you can not live happy if you do not work, except may be females on baby sitting time. You can not take a rest all time - at the beach or just playing golf - you will not be happy, except may be some golf players, who earn money with golf.

I would like to experience that first hand before I will accept your statement and state my own: 'You can not live happy churning away the days just to pay the bills, happy is he who can churn away the time and not worry about the bills if he stops churning and starts playing golf, at the beach, with blackjack.. etc.'  Tongue

I would not mind getting fired, the government in our country provides you with some income, but not if I would quit, then the finances would be a problem, but I could be happy for a month or so till the billcollectors come by Smiley

Living without a lot of earthly possesions is something I try to keep up, clean out my stuff, throw or give away all the things that get piled up and are unused or clutter the house too much.

It's not about quitting your job,

It's about quitting the wrong thing for the right reasons that makes you happy. Smiley Wink Cheesy Grin

I will surely be very happy when I quit my job.
I don't like my job, a lot working hours, very low salary etc.
But... until I find other source of income, I have no choice but to continue to work for the current company.
With Bitcoin, I hope this will change soon Smiley

You can't live out of air. If you have a small income you can try it, but I would suggest to join a small community instead of living as an heremit

I could quit today and never look back. I could easily live off the grid if I wanted too. Probability will give it a go one of these days.  Cool

Well I'd be happy for a short amount of time, but I'd get depressed as my money starts running dry.

^ Yeah this. I would love to adopt a lifestyle like that but I can't afford it.

I work from home, so I have no reason to quit the job I'm doing as I'm very happy with it.

I'm sure there are a lot people that don't like the job they have, but they can't simply quit as they have recurring bills to pay.

I don't know, but something needs to be done about our reliance on ISPs that's for sure, if it weren't for ISPs I probably would have bought a plot of land and lived on that ages ago.

I haven't had a job, but seriously, even though I'd still want an internet connection I wouldn't mind living off the land considering if everything goes to hell it's people like this that will be the most well off, you can't grow food in a several story flat very easily.

I guess that would be the hardest part in all this. We all need our internet fix. Satellite internet or broadband card from Verizon or another major carrier perhaps?

Yes ive always been interested in doing something like this, there are spots near me for house boats i could get my personal outgoings down to just a few hundred a month.

As regards living in alternative housing in the woods or someones backyard in the UK we seem to be nazi's for planning permission.  They attempt to squeeze everyone into the house ponzi scheme over here to keep prices even higher.  Total shit hole country for housing we have.

Thanks for channel link will be going through during today like this kinda stuff Smiley

You might be particularly interested in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sbb9qm-pqw

I've been watching a lot of videos from this youtube channel lately: Tiny House Movement (https://www.youtube.com/user/kirstendirksen). She has hundreds of videos where she films and interviews people from all over the world about their unique living situation. Some people live in cob or straw bale houses in the woods, being self reliant and living off the land. Others build a tiny house for around $15k and set it down in a friend's backyard. Some live at sea in their boat/houseboat.

You can't help but be swayed by the romantic notion these people have in all these videos. Jealousy perhaps if I might say. I'm in my early 20's and currently in a job that I don't really enjoy doing. I wish I did but I don't. I see what these people are doing and I think: wow, these people aren't really stressed out because they don't have to worry as much about making $60 - 70k to survive in this economy.

What do you guys think? Could you quit your job you have tomorrow and be happy with that decision?
