I use Localbitcoins over 1 year now, and i am not yet id verified only via mobile but i know that sellers or buyers have the option to prevent users from starting a trade if they are not id verified.
You will find much better rates sometimes if you are id verified, if you are honest just get verified and enjoy the better rates, and if you ever lose your access or get hacked it will be much more easy to get your account back because you are verified via id card.
