I know, I know, a 1060 3GB isn't going to produce much in mining.  That's not the question here.  I want to know if there's some reason it won't work on Nicehash anymore.  I have one I'm not using, and thought I'd put it on Nicehash again just to make a few Satoshis, but it constantly fails the benchmark tests, so I can't mine with it.  Drivers aren't an issue, these 1060s I have used to work fine, but a year or so later and I can't get it mining.

And if a 1060 3GB is now unusable on Nicehash, what sort of GPU do I need?  A 3060?  And how much RAM is the minimum these days?

1060 3GB listed here - only works on NHM and NHOS, not the Quick miner...pretty sure most algos need 4GB though...so most benchmarks will fail, make sure you manuayly "tick" all benchmarks

NiceHash does not support all algorithms and many old video cards are no longer useless for their calculator, but this is not true if you mine other coins. Nice Hash dumbs down miners because after a few years of use they are no longer able to use other mining software Grin

Just trying to point him in the right direction, OP is specifically asking about his card and NH.
If a newbie is limited, or wants to use his work computer for mining because he was able to install NiceHash software on his PC, then he will earn a very small amount of money and will have to wait a long time to reach the payout limit.
Nowadays you need to have more knowledge and capabilities in mining if you want to earn money rather than passive income of a few cents a day from one old video card.

You should make sure you've done the calculations as to whether it's profitable or not before you dive in.  You might find it's a better idea to just buy Bitcoin.  However, I'm still amazed that I'm able to run a few 1080ti's profitably.  Partially thanks to solar energy and partially thanks to living somewhere with dirt cheap electricity.  If you find yourself in a similar position and need the heat this time of year it could be worth it to run, but make sure you know what bet you're making and that you have a path to making a profit.  Unless you're cold, then run that bad boy.

3 GB of memory on a video card is now very little, but some coins can still be mined. Check out this calculator
https://minerstat.com/dag-size-calculator
Many coins are not profitable. If you need a small profit, then try mining DYNEX, but without a nice hash. Download the miner and run it on your computer.

Links to miners and settings can be found on the pools.
