Do these A1066s overclock?

Yeah But after 1 hour  the over clock seemed to be exactly the same as the standard clock.

This was at my house and was stupid loud.

But I spent all day up at the warehouse in Clifton NJ  so I think I will use my teamviewer setup this morning

and see if I set one to over clock what happen by days end.

I have one set to high     it does 50.84 in gui
I have one set to normal it does 50.47 in gui

pool shows 49.73 last hour for high
pool shows 50.67 last hour for normal

temps  25c 77f fan 65 for high
"          25c 77f  "   54 for normal

I will look at this in a day to see if it is better.  since it seems to have zero betterment for high setting

so I am running the 2 units and they run well

one in a cold room   30f
one in a warm room 85f

both average close to 50.4th

I have the one in the hot room  on a kwh meter for 156 hours

meter was at 2374.0  and is now at 2869.69

so 2869.69 - 2374.00= 495.69 kwatts/156 = 3.1775  kwatts an hour  or 3177 watts/50.4 = 63.0357 watts an hour.

I would compare this unit to bitmain's t17e

I have two of each

run time /up time

t17e  drops out in a cold room over and over and over.
a1066 works none stop 156 hours in a cold room.         cold room temps   20f to 40f

t17e runs steady in a 80f room
a1066 runs steady in a 85f room.

in a warm room

t17e does 54th     uses 3345 watts  about 62 watts a th
a1066 does 50th   uses 3177 watts  about 63 watts a th

price

969   t17e   ships jan 10-20
1075 a1066 ships now

based on the very close hash rate and power use they are close to a tie.
price is close due to a 20-30 wait for the t17e

reliability  I only have 2 of each item.  and the t17e is not reliable in a cold room  the a1066 is.

both are good in warm rooms.

If I could only mine with one of these two items  I would buy from avalon and mine with the a1066 it edges out the t17e.

53 W/TH vs 63 W/TH is a giant difference. What is the ambient temperature?

I'd be interested to see what the average is over a few hours using kWh meter.

I pulled out my kWh meter because the real time number of 2640 seemed to good to be true.

if it is a 63 watt miner it should do 3.125 per

if it is a 53 watt miner it should do 2.650 per hour

my kwh meter in 2 hours. went from

2374.00 to 2380.08

that is 6.08 kwatts. or 3040 watts or 60.8 watts.

which is just a little better then 63-65 rating.

edit 10 hour kwh meter reading

2374.00 to 2405.50 is :

31.50 kwatts /10   = 3150 watts average use  which is 63 watts since gear is doing 50th  which is right on spec.

temps on machine read  26c/78f fan at 65%  log shows fan speeds at

4300 to 4438

So gear runs to spec  after 10 hours in a fairly cool room  75-80f room

yeah  multiple clicks to log in  and it prefers chrome  on my mac's over safari.

It is stable now just over 50th and only 2640 watts  which is way under the 63-65 watt a th rating.

general impressions are gui/eth/controller is flakey you need multiple attempts some of the time.

chrome on mac is good.
chrome on windows is good.

I really do not like this

See this this is not safe.

No gear should have a 3000 watt psu with exposed  pos neg terminals.  Simply wrong

please short me
pretty please short me out

What do I like  it is doing 2640 watts in a cool space far under the 3150  it is specced at.

53watts a th vs 63watts a th

That is very nice.  I will run it over nite  and see if it still gets good power ratings.

re: eth connection & GUI being flakey
If you mean sometimes you cannot log in or switching to Log confuses it, that started with the A10's which use Canaan's new controller chip & FMS.
Sometimes when logging in you will get 'Connection Refused'. Just keep reloading/retrying. Sometimes a fast double-click on Log In will do it as well.

For Connection Refused when trying to access the Log, just reload it or go back and try it again.

Went back to basics. It ran with the oem pool on high setting.
I loaded the oem pool back and set it to high and it ran.
I loaded my pool back and set it to high and it runs.

Some interesting points on

low/normal the unit pulls 11 amps or 2650 watts and does  50.89th

on high/preformance the other units pulls ?  and does 49th

I will play around some more  but the gui/eth connection seems flakey on the 'bad' unit.

good news is the other unit set to lower speed is pulling 2650 watts for 50th = 53 watts a th which is better then spec

Specifications

I will get back to trouble shooting dead one later.  Fixxed it yeaaaaaa!!

For now I will focus on review of good unit.

very well packed weight is about 32 pounds

See this this is not safe.

I thought my dead unit was due to that shorting, but both unit's psu show 12.7 to 12.9 volts.

here is chart on normal after 30+ minutes

lastly good log and how to fill a pool out.

Here are Side by side logs working unit and bad unit.  This has the same -40 issue as I did on my bad 1041. but this psu reads 12.80 volts and the 'good' psu reads 12.76 volts so this is very likely not a psu issue.

Okay  first off   fuck fuck  fuck fuck and $%^$%#$%^$#%$

Alright out of my system.

I got both to work  much better in terms of my anger and frustration.

I will post photos etc.

Buysolar and I paid 2570 + 680 = 3250 for 2 units.

One works fine does about 50th on high and 47th on normal.

Pretty loud on high not so loud on low.

I will have photos soon.
