i have an avalon 1246 that doesn't read temperatures. At first I thought it was the psu, but I replaced it and nothing, it's still the same.

in the dashboard      say     Miner Temperature31°C(T)0°C(H0)0°C(H1)0°C(H2)

It's as if I didn't read any temp from any board, now I only have two connected, if I connect all three it happens the same. any clue would be of great help

As I notice that there are values under NETFAIL and Network Blocks it is related to how your miner connects to the pool it seems you keep rejecting or disconnected to the pool or your miner is blocked. Do you have stable internet? Or does your internet has a high-security firewall which is why it keeps disconnecting to the pool you are mining?

You can try to switch to another pool like ViaBTC to test if it's only due to the pool or look at other pools here https://miningpoolstats.stream/bitcoin

I also, noticed the miner only detects one hashboard there might be an issue with two hashboards better try to troubleshoot which hashboard is broken. You can try to run hashboards one by one to find which one is working.

One disconcerting thing I see is

Standard questions:
How long was miner running when you grabbed that log?
What is the line voltage feeding the miner? It MUST be between 200-240VAC
What is air temperature of the room  or inlet side of the miner?
Any other miners have similar issues at the same time?

I also have a problem with Canaan 1246 Sad and have no idea what is the actual problem Smiley Everything looks good in the Overview screen but the machine restarts every 10-15 min. I have around 75 of A1246 and 1166pros I bought this year. I have had nearly a 25% failure rate on the PSUs. The Avalons being sold this year are junk. So I've bit the bullet and bought a bunch of spare PSUs which has fixed most of the issues.

FWIW your blinking red light on the PSU itself definitely means the PSU has an issue. Usually if you keep running it it will eventual pop/fail and not run anymore at all.

Shipping international is a bit of a PITA on top of it all.

I'm going to stick with L3's for now, hopefully L7's next year. Bitmain has a repair shop in the USA now, which seems like should make dealing with issues like this easier.

Something I have learned through this is the importance of having more than 1 unit of any particular make/model.

In the case of any miner that uses a built-in PSU - as all current ones for the past couple years do - having a spare PSU is usually all that is needed because finding a replacement one even from the maker of the miner is like looking for hens teeth. Best chance is to order a spare when you order the miner. The PSU's do not fail often but if it does, yer screwed.

For anyone following, or who finds this in the future I am going to share my experience.

Canaan just got back to me, asked if I had another unit to swap control boards.

This is my first unit of this make and model so I do not. I told them this and about the RED led on the power supply.

Quite an experience getting into this whole mining thing!

No shortage of obstacles to overcome, lol.

I would not have had the patience for this in my 20's.....

All modern miners using a built-in PSU are adjusting its high power side output voltage to match what the ASIC chip strings need for reliable operation to eak out the best possible efficiency.

Not really. The high power section supplying power to the ASIC chips is controlled separately with a variable voltage output set by the controller. The control power section that supply fans and CPU puts out just 12vdc at very few amps.

This is a very common setup, even the Bitmain machines often have problems with the PSU high-power section while the miners still work enough to report problems via the GUI.

On a positive note, I called the number listed for that reseller and left a voicemail earlier and the guy just got back to me.

He wants me to contact canaan and see what they think first and if I don't get it sorted out by Friday he will accept the return. Good news.

I am inclined to believe it is the power supply. The PSU has an LED indicator on it, which flashes green during startup and then goes RED. I don't recall seeing it red before now.

They are one of the very few factory-authorized resellers of Canaan gear and I know that along with their website they also have Amazon pages. If it is Blokforge you used they should be very responsive to your problem as they are an excellent company to work with.

"NewMarketBrands"  Return address is in Canada, unit was shipped from HongKong. I assume its someone who just bought from someone in China and had it sent to me.

Amazon approved the return, so I guess now the question is do I believe they will actually give my money back if I send this thing to the address listed.

I emailed Canaan. I purchased through Amazon, working on contacting the seller to process a return. I have low confidence in the return process but maybe Amazon will help if there is an issue.

Miner has been running for 6 days, it quit hashing a few hours ago and reboot will not resolve.

In the overview menu, mining status is red, network status red, fans status all green, temp status 31c(T) GREEN,  0c(H0) 0c(H1) 0c(H2) all RED.


Canaan garbage?

It's sitting next to 16 Antminer L3's which run just fine.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I am considering sending it back, assuming the seller would even allow the return.
