I've decided not to go ahead with the boxes. It would take a lot longer before everything is done (and it'll increase the shipping costs).
It would have been nice if the box was optional so that people who still wanted them could add them to their order.

The price should be around 0.06 BTC.
The price seems much more suitable now for a copper coin. When do you plan on taking pre-orders?

The boxes will be optional with our next coin (should we make one Grin).

We'll start taking preorders once I know when the coins will be done. I don't want to keep everyone waiting/postponing the release date.

Hey guys,

I've decided not to go ahead with the boxes. It would take a lot longer before everything is done (and it'll increase the shipping costs). How does the following sound:

The .999 copper LuckyBit wallets will be numbered from 1-100. Each coins will come in a coin capsule and 2 tamper proof 19mm holograms will be included. The price should be around 0.06/0.07 BTC. Here is the twist, it isn't called LuckyBit for a reason. 5 coins will come with one of the silver plated wallets we auction off a while ago. I will provide a signed message before accepting preorders/sales. I could also contact a trusted escrow if the public prefers that. As promised, all auction winner will get a 50% discount as a thank you for showing interest in the coins.

Let me know what you think!

If it comes with the wooden LuckyBit box, I think the price is appropriate.   Cool

The luckybit coin is great, has an amazing design. In my opinion if you decide to make the custom boxes, the boxes will be better as an optional option, some collectors would bought with the box and others will prefer only the coin, also the shipping isn't the same for only the coin than the package that will need the box.

That amount is a current estimate. I am looking at having custom boxes and certificates made. Should that become too expensive (or if it takes too long to have those made) the prices will go down.

I forgot to mention that in the OP, sorry for the confusion Grin.
I'm only speaking for myself here, but I'm definitely interested in this but the price is way too high.  I'm not interested in boxes or certificates.  When I get coins from the mint, the packaging goes in the trash and the coin into my collection.  Would be the same here and I'd really only be interested in the coin.  Copper is cool.  I don't like silver-plated anything but that coin does look very nice.

OP...I received my #98 Auction coin yesterday.  Really nice proof finish and nice design.  I love it.

A couple notes:

I was measuring it for the encyclopedia and noticed the coin diameter is approx 39mm, similar to 1ozt Silvers, but possibly a little bigger as it doesnt fit in my standard quadrum 39mm holders.  You mentioned earlier it was:
- Coin Ø: 31 mm

For a future design, may I suggest a larger hologram, which would require a larger middle area?  Its so tiny (about the size of a US dime) that I really cant do much with it as far as a DIY wallet.  Also the holo fits inside the open middle space but could use some indent underneath to fit a private key.

I vote .999 Silver 1oz (non-plated) if that becomes an option.  Cheesy
Plastic capsules work just fine IMO, skip out on the boxes to save on costs?

I'm guessing this would create a wider demand for these good looking coins, among the community.

Good luck with the project, either way.  Wink

I would be interested in the coin and optional box.  The wooden boxes for the 25 LTC Bull by Coinographic were really nice for example.

very nice idea, I will sure order one.

Leave the choice to the buyer, box or no box. Mint all coins, like 100 as you stated. Start a preorder and buyer can add a box if they want. This way you know how many boxes you need to order/make and you can put price on the box. You can give an estimated price for the box in the pre-orderinfo.

- Standard version: Coin + hologram + certificate + (velvet) pouch or capsule with foam ring
- Box version: Coin + hologram + box + certifcate

Aaaah. With a box and certificate I wouldn't mind paying that much. Grin
As long as I get a lower number than you, I'm in. Grin

The box will probably looks like the box in the OP, only smaller. It'll either have a foam or velvet inlay.
I'm leaning towards the velvet inlay, but let's see. When should we expect this to be 'released' (if there's adequate interest)?

Extra question: Would you prefer the coin with or without a custom box? It looks pretty cool but it'll increase the shipping costs. A bubble envelop will easily fit through a mailbox so I can send them as a 'signed ĺetter'. Custom boxes will have to be sent as parcels, increasing the shipping costs.
I'm not sure actually. It would depend on how the custom box looked like and how big it is. Currently I'd have no way of adding a coin with a box into my collection, albeit it might be good to have a custom (signed maybe?) box. I'd like to take a look at some sketches or something first.
