It is about rules, read the rules before participating in any campaign. There are some bounties last very long or postponed.

Uhm hi guys, i'm a newbie here and i have a question. Is it ok for someone here to cancel a bounty thread?

I'm referring to this one : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--4867416

I dont know what happened, but i guess i signed up on that one, then after few hours the thread was closed. Sorry im not expecting that much from it, but i just wanna know if its allowed so i can be more careful before signing up bounty threads.

It might be better as well if the op left at least the site of that website so i know which telegram group i should leave or unfollow. Im not even sure what i did, it might be account signup, twitter or telegram.

Thanks

Following the link, it has been deleted by a moderator but its not out of place that a bounty is locked or discontinued and its better for you because you have only signed up for hours and sensitive enough to check back and not until after one week when there is need for grading that you realise that you have practically worked for free.

Several factors can be responsible. I have seen a manager locked down a campaign because the signatures were copied from the author without proper acknowledgement. I have seen another locked because escrow could not be secured in due time because the owner were intentionally dragging doing the right thing which signifies something fishy. For bounty specifically, it would likely due to the change in strategy of the organizer.

Anyways that was an airdrop and not the usual. bounty thread. Maybe the thread was trashed because of violating one of the rules in the bounty section and not because it was locked or discontinued by the OP.

You can always seek for clarification from the OP itself via PM.

The bounty thread is an article that is commissioned by the ICO project party to the bounty manager or some other people. They can be edited, modified, and locked!

You can still see the original topic name on the "subject line of other users posts". If that's not enough, you can always refer to its "cache version from google".

It's mean that the ICO has been postponed or the team decided to not running the ICO. Sometime it happened because BM doesn't received any respond from the project and it could turn to SCAM project so BM will cancel the bounty campaign.

That’s the risk you run when you participate in any bounty. Some look great and tick every box that I look for, you do work for them and then....Bye bye without warning!

Not that I want to sound too negative here, but if the market stays as it is or worsens- there will be a good few more disappearing acts!

I’d suggest looking at the team, seeing how the project is funded WITHOUT having to liquidise all the ETH proceeds, and doing some serious research on a project before wasting your time.

If you read the rules of bounty manager of any bounty thread you will found they have the right to canceled or pause the bounty at any time. It may have many reasons because of the market situation or not get target money or even to reached the soft cap. Bounties most of is gambling so you can just try your luck here.

Yes they can do that and you can do nothing about it, there are so many bounty and it's hard to tell which is real and scam, i suggest that check their telegram for the updates in their campaign.

They have the right to postpone or pause the campaign if they included that on the rules of that bounty.

But I can't see if that's on that thread since it's already edited.
