This is a demo coin.
That's it... never loaded... just to show how they look peeled.
Cheesy

Thanks

Or should it not be peeled?

I happened to order one of these as well. It came peeled from the beginning.

Thats it! I forgot I bought unfunded samples when i bought my bitcoins, one of each! Apparently I got them mixed up. Now I just have to figure out what I did with the funded coins.

ill give you 0.05BTC for this one if you want to sell it buddy

it had a peeled holo, but since directly sent by mike, it should count as demo coin i suppose? Or should it not be peeled?

Very interesting coin, because it was never funded it looks like it might be a demo coin.

There is mention of 2011 1 BTC Series 1 demo coins in the encyclopedia, but nothing about series 2 demos.

Regardless this is probably very collectible and your best bet would be to auction it, I'm sure there will be plenty of interest.

That is what I was thinking it might be too, but had only seen series 1 Demo’s.

Ok I'll just peel and sell it then.
It came direct from Caldwell like that so I'm not too worried.

I would be a little disappointed if I got cheated out of the seven dollars I spent on it.

Nothing to peel at this point, as it already has been. You bought this directly from mike with assumption it was loaded ? I’d like to buy this from you nevertheless.

tldr: Canceling my offer until I find the actual funded coin. Photos are peeled demo.

I accidentally posted an unfunded demo coin. Apologies to all. I may sell the demo later, but for now I'll concentrate on finding the missing funded coin. I bought these from Caldwell because I found the idea of a virtual currency taking physical form an interesting contradiction.

I appreciate the education. Y'all pointed out that my coin wasn't what I thought it was.

I'll create a new post for the funded coin when (if? eek!) I find it.

By the way, I also didn't know the convention:
The wiki (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Casascius_physical_bitcoins) calls the visibly windowed coin "second series 1 coin".
After the comments, I see Caldwell calls them series 2.
I also didn't know we only got 2 PM per day.
Maybe I'll try to start a quick Casascius / sales faq to make up for my confusion, if there's a way to sticky posts.

Thank you all for your help and interest, and again apologies for my confusion.

Need money more than this in my sock drawer. Unrated. Friend bought it direct for me.

Would like to sell locally if possible in Southern CA.

I'll only accept more than the spot bitcoin price (otherwise I'll just crack it open and cash it in on an exchange.)

I'd accept less cash than bitcoin, but not less than spot.

Apparently I only get 2 pm per day, so please reply here, as I have no available btc to purchase a copper membership with. I've already got my 2 pm for the day.

Thanks!
