you are aware that you have to create a new wallet right? because you can not import private keys in a wallet that has seed, you have to make a new one and import your private keys that way.
http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html#can-i-import-private-keys-from-other-bitcoin-clients

you can also sweep they keys (spend the balance by sending from that private key to one of your addresses in your electrum wallet) got to wallet > Private keys > sweep

looking at this printout from bitaddress.org--all private keys start with 5

have a private key pair printed out on paper.  am trying to get it into electrum so i can transfer it.

i go to private key -sweep--and paste the private key into the box--and  basically nothing happens.--cant continue from there--must cancel

what am I doing wrong??
