H.

The factory setting is fixed: IP 192.168.99 (if I remeber well).
Almost, it's 192.168.1.99.

You need a computer on the 192.168.1.xxx network to talk with the S3.

Grin yes you are right. I ommit "1", too fast in typing yesterday.

I wonder if our ideas help you 8bitJake. Can you now set your miner properly? Please confirm.

First post and I'm a total newbie to this but basically I've bought a used Antminer and set it up carefully following a guide but now I can't find it (presumably the last owner changed the ip).

The lights on the side of the ethernet cable are orange and green and theirs a flashing green light to the right which I presume means it's all good.

I've logged into my router but it doesn't show any new devices (weird!?).

Please help!
If you have already tried accessing the S3 via the default 192.168.1.99 IP address and haven't had any luck then odds are good that the previous owner did indeed change over from the Default IP.  Check out this bitcointalk thread for instructions on where to find the Factory Reset button which will reset your unit back to it's default of 192.168.1.99

I have no idea about these miners but you could use network scanner software and it may find your device's IP, worth a try in my opinion.

Hi, welcome to the forum. There is a better place to ask such questions in the "https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=76.0"
I had Bitmain S3 and I hope I can help you:

If you can see green LED flashing it means that miners is working. It should mean that it`s mining actualy, but for old owner who Set it up.

The factory setting is fixed: IP 192.168.99 (if I remeber well).
It`s recommended to set configuration to the DHCP.

Do you have any program which can look for active IP in your network?

Then as last hint. There is possiblity to do HW reset. Try to look in the HW part of Bitcointalk.

Hope it helps.
