as for now i bought the BE QUIET! Pure Power 10 600W CM.. seems like the 4 cards run more stable.. but it seems like the two other gtx 1080 are defective.. they are not detected anymore.. nowhere.. i hope the rig or the old power supply didnt kill them..

The 500W Tooq Ecopower PSU is, more than likely, trash. Even if this isn't the primary source of your current problems, I would strongly suggest that you get rid of it.
Additionally, taking a low-quality PSU and using the SATA and 4-pin molex lines for multiple graphics cards is generally not a great idea. Look for a quality PSU, with the OEM no less than HEC, CWT, Sirfa/Sirtec (or something in that tier), or much preferably Seasonic, FSP, Superflower, etc.

The fact that you have had crashes occur when beginning to mine, after successfully booting, may suggest that the PSU(s) are unable to handle the additional load once you start mining.

Agreed Tooq Ecopower is probably crap. I recommend getting only high quality PSU for mining. Get it from like EVGA, Corsair etc.

thanks, so you think one of the psue could be the problemmaker?

what do you think of one of those psu?

COOLER MASTER B600 ver.2 600W ATX 2.3

BE QUIET! Pure Power 10 600W CM

or

SEASONIC S-12II-620W

thanks

Hi,

I am trying to make my first gpu rig with 6 gpu's, with ethos as OS..

I have:
Ethos 1.2.9
Asrock H81 Pro BTC r2.0 Motherboard
6 Sata to Molex powered PCIE Risers
1x ecopower ii tooq  500W Power supply for mobo, ssd and the risers
6 x gtx 1080 GPU (3x Gainward and 3 Gigabyte)

and a 1200W Server power supply..

the tooq ecopower ii has only 4 Sata cables and 2 molex.. the only working config is to use.. 2 sata -> two gpu's, 1 gpu directly on molex from psu and 1 ssd and one gpu on the other sata cable..

When i try to use more than 4 cards.. it crashes on mining start.. somethimes it doesnt even detect the 5th card..

i tried different risers and pcie slots, i tried also win 10, and also tried sata Y Cables (made the thing worse.. didn't even work with 4 cards anymore or crashed after few hours), tried different bios (1.3B)

with no success at all Sad

what can i try next?

shouldn't be a 500W Suplly enough for 6 risers, mobo and ssd?? or should i try a 650/750W supply??

currently i have no ideas anymore..

thanks for any help
