If you only have 8 words, then it would appear that you don't have an Electrum seed. All Electrum seeds have been standardised at 12 for quite a while now.

How long ago did you create this wallet? and what was the old version of Electrum before you updated to v3.0.5? Huh

Ok, so I updated to 3.0.5 and tried this solution (http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/2fa.html#restoring-from-seed) to recover wallet with my seed (8 words, I created wallet on version 3.0.3).

The 'Next button" is grayed out and I cannot enter the seed as if I haven't got enough words or entered something wrong. I only had 8 words when I created the wallet, and I have seen if other posts that people are using more than 8 words. I also have checked the spelling numerous times.

Do I need more words for newer versions of Electrum to recover my wallet from only the seed/wallet with 2factor auth?

I have now tried 2 different methods to try to recover my wallet using seed.

Any help would be great.

Hi,

I update to latest version and tried to recover using my seed.

I made new wallet with old seed, but I do not see my balance or any history.

Any help would be appreciated, as I am very new to this all.
