I'm just wondering if the mempool is being cleared of only new transactions that have a lower fee than the one listed - or will all older transactions will be purged over time as well?
Old transactions are removed from the mempool as well.
The default mempool maximum size is 300 MB.
As the mempool size cannot exceed 300 MB (by default), nodes have to remove transactions paying low fee, so transactions paying higher fee can enter the mempool.

He will get a "Mempool min fee not met" error with such low fee rate.
Right now, transactions with anything less than 16.2 sat/vB are being purged from mempools.

I have to admit that yesterday at the time I wrote the post I did not check this information - but yesterday I personally accelerated 3 transactions that were between 10-15 sat/byte and all were successfully confirmed. I'm looking at your link now, and I see that according to that data, everything below 19.1 sat/vB, shouldn't enter mempool.

Tetrazepam, check BitMaxz post and adjust fee to 11 sat/vbyte, and then try to send desired amount.

Right now, transactions with anything less than 16.2 sat/vB are being purged from mempools. The mempool min fee seems to be slowly, but steadily, decreasing, though.

Anyway, it looks like he already sent the transaction with 271 sat/vB! and it's been confirmed.

Tetrazepam, check BitMaxz post and adjust fee to 11 sat/vbyte, and then try to send desired amount. If your transaction has only one input (you send from 1 address) and 2 output (recipient's address and change address) it will mean that the transaction will be of standard size and in combination with low fee will cost you only a few $.

The problem is that you would wait days, maybe weeks, to confirm such a transaction - but you can always try the ViaBTC accelerator, which is a bit tricky, but it has been proven to help. If you post the transaction ID publicly I or someone else will surely try to help you with it - just keep in mind not to set a lower fee than the one I recommended.

bitmover, as shown in the screenshot posted by OP, the transaction has received 119 confirmations.
It can't be the transaction OP is going to make. It looks like a withdrawal from an exchange.

(The Transaction shown in the screenshot above)

Am I missing something here?

You are right. that is not his transaction.  I was so worried about number of inputs and transaction size that I totally missed the confirmation field... I was distracted.

Anyway it looks like a fee issue, as fees looks really crazy now.

I agree that's a received BTC from another wallet or exchange and he said that his wallet address started with "17" which you can't find on the sender side of the transaction but it's under receiving. Look at this link

@Tetrazepam

Are you using the latest version of Electrum android?

When making a transaction on Electrum Android under sending tab there you can manually set the transaction fee, click the star where you see something like 20.sat/byte[static] as a sample after you click it there is 3 method to calculate and set the transaction fee if you want to manually set the fee then choose the method: Static and slide it if how much fee you want to pay it looks like this below

After you set try to click the max again.

Take note: If you pay a low fee the transaction might stuck on the network so if you don't want the transaction to stuck on the network you can choose method: mempool then set it to 1mb or below.

It looks like the OP has multiple inputs, which confirms the theory that this is a transaction fee issue.

Just wait a few days and you will be able to save about 50 USD in transaction fees.
Oh ok, its so expensive actually 😲. I will wait for normal fees. The problem is electrum android dont say anything (just "not enought btc")

Thanks a lot for helping me to understand this !

Edit:
I hosted the image in imgur because bitcointalk image proxy didn't display it.

Tetrazepam, each address you have will have at least 1 input. Each input adds a few bytes to the transaction size, in bytes. The bigger the transaction size, a higher fee you will pay. So each input adds a little cost in fees.

But the problem is that the network is congested, you will have to use about 250 sat/vbyte for a confirmation now. Usually you will have one for about 5-10 sat/vbtyte., which is about 20 times less.

Thanks guys!

What kind of wallet are you using? Is it a normal wallet or is it a 2FA wallet with TrustedCoin?
Its a normal wallet

What are the first letter of the origin and destination addresses?
The origin (mine) begin by 17. The destination begin by 3 (but its same maximum spend if destination is not written)

I believe this is a fee issue. Take a look at these calculations:

Edit: The solution would be to pay those fees, or wait a few days until the mempool gets back to normal...

Hmm I'm wrong then. Fees were much lower when I last checked.

Electrum removed the TX fees settings from their settings and I haven't gotten the chance to test it out yet. I believe they moved it from the settings for it to be promoted to the user when creating a transaction.

Hi there!
I used electrum on my pc 3-4times without any problem.
But i try to send btc with the app:i have 0.0055btc on my wallet and want spend 0.0052bt but i can only send 0.0041 btc (when using max button)
Is it a bug of electrum app?

I'm ruling out the fees as the issue, the transaction fees shouldn't be that high and the dialog is displayed when the user initiates a transaction (IIRC).

Let me ask you some questions, Tetrazepam :
What are the first letter of the origin and destination addresses?

If they are all Legacy addresses, using 2 outputs and 3 inputs, it is possible that the total fees are about 70 USD (using recommended 250 sat/vbyte), which is about 0.0013 BTC

I believe this is a fee issue. Take a look at these calculations:
