Ok so i almost have it.
You guys are saying I cant not send because i have the legacy format of BCH. Witch i guess is ok for now not hurting anything.
No... that's not what we're saying... what we're saying is that you are trying to send to the new "CashAddr" format... however, as per my screenshots, "Ledger Wallet Bitcoin" Chrome App DOES NOT support sending to these addresses.

No... you don't send anything to the converter... It isn't a service like Changelly or ShapeShift that you send coins to.

The converter is simply a website service that allows you to convert one Bitcoin Cash address format to another... in this case, you can put a "CashAddr" formatted Bitcoin Cash address (ie. the address that starts "qz" or "bitcoincash:qz") in to the converter and it will allow you to see what the "legacy" address is (ie. the address that starts with a "1").

What you need to realise is that the "qz" address you are trying to send to, and the "1" address that the converter will give you... are THE SAME ADDRESS! They're just written in a different way. For instance:

Format One - "One thousand, Two Hundred and Fifty Eight"
Format Two - 1258

They both represent exactly the same thing, but are just written in different ways...

CashAddr Format - bitcoincash:qpqpphwp2fw2zcjtcptv83gcfnqj2f00r5l96xn7dz
Legacy Format - 16qkTAUmtCdBYfXXKKGKqD8pAYtL1T5pqV

Any BCH sent to either of those addresses will end up in exactly the same place... as they are the same address and are controlled by the same private key!

Did you try following the directions posted earlier?

1. Copy/paste the "qz" address into https://cashaddr.bitcoincash.org/
2. Click "convert" button
3. Click the "Legacy" tab
4. You will see the "Legacy" Bitcoin Cash address (it starts with a "1"). This address is the SAME DESTINATION as the "qz" address.
5. You can put the "1" address into the "Send" box of "Ledger Wallet Bitcoin" Chrome app when you are trying to send BCH.

Do you mean the converter does not convert your "qz" address... or do you mean that the Ledger wallet still won't accept the "1" address that you got from the converter?

"Ledger Wallet Bitcoin" Chrome App does NOT support the CashAddr format:

Nor can you enter it without the "bitcoincash:" prefix:

If you follow the suggested link: https://cashaddr.bitcoincash.org/ and enter the "CashAddr" address (with or without "bitcoincash:" prefix), you can click on the "Legacy" tab and it will show the old style "1" or "3" address:

Also, perhaps a silly question, but no seemed to ask it yet... you remembered to select "Bitcoin Cash" coin selector "app" on the Ledger device itself right (and NOT "Bitcoin")?

Alright so you can try using a 3rd party wallet. I'd recommend electroncash, which is basically electrum but for BCH (https://electroncash.org). You can set it up with your ledger instead of using the default app and try sending it that way

Ask me for Pools, Nodes and Explorers.
I just tried that absolutely nothing. I dont trust links people post so didn't connect threw that one. I went and found ledger app on chrome and went in that way. so its online and not on the desktop. I have no idea what else to try.

Tried reinstalling the app? Also you can google for the converter as well, it just makes no sense to me that you trust BCH, but not their official site?

Im suspecting that the problem lies on the address format, rather than the APP itself (because you can send other coins).
So your options on that case would be:

1. The address converter, which i've linked.
2. Using some places, whom support CashAddr format.

You don't have to send all at once, as i have pointed out. I always test the address conversions with a very small amount, to make sure that the converted address works.

there dose not seem to be anything installed in the chrome extension. I am using the desktop software. im looking in apps

Try installing their official chrome app (NOT extension).

This is the Ledger Manager app: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ledger-manager/beimhnaefocolcplfimocfiaiefpkgbf

Does any message pop up at all when you click send? no nothing happens no message or anything.

If I uninstall and re install will I need to put my seed in.

I don't know about sending 500 BCH to a random address for I don't trust. I think Im going to well not do that unless I have to.

Send something like 0.0001BCH to see if the address works. The converter is on official site, so if you trust bitcoincash, i don't see a reason why you would not trust the devs on it. There are Legacy addresses, and Cashaddr addresses. Not all places support CashAddr.

You will not need to put your seed in. Just plug your ledger in and your balances and transactions should show up

not entirely sure how to use this converter to the new format.

I just try sending to coin base and it wont even let me do that.

Do I want to put my public key in here?

Enter the address and copy the address from the "Legacy" tab which starts with 1 instead. Send to that address and let me know if that works.

The other user is mistaken and thinks that you want to send Bitcoin, not Bitcoin Cash. Does any message pop up at all when you click send? If not you should uninstall and reinstall the chrome application.

How so? CashAddr should be in the following format i think: bitcoincash:qpe5ycrs9yw475nap75xkg2jcsfrq8rvnc3v48ndr2

Edit: Yes i have been mistaken, but i'd still suggest to use the converter tool.

the adress starts with qz8q

I am going to try and send some to coinbase just to check and see if it will go threw. what is the smallest amount I can send.

Technically speaking you should be able to send any amount less than your (wallet amount - tx fee).

Sorry, BCH addresses start like that. Try using this converter: https://cashaddr.bitcoincash.org/
Try sending to the address, which starts with 3 that you get from that converter. Could be that native BCH segwit addresses are not supported by Ledger Nano S.
Also you can send any amount which you'd like, as bitcoin cash fees are really low.

Edit: Address should start with qp rather than qz as far as i know. Where did you get this address from?

what do you mean by

DO NOT REUSE THE SEED! If I download this new wallet and toss the seed into it it should display my BCH to send. please alliterate

I have lots of other coins on my ledger I don't want to mess with at the moment.

I go to send the BCH to an address. I fill in the receiving address and the amount. I click the send button nothing happens. It would be like clicking on nothing on your desktop you can click all you want nothing happens.

All other coins send just fine.

I do have my ledger nano S seed. I am afraid to use it because its a large balance and I have other coins on the device as well.

Yes i see that screen exactly. I click the green send button NOTHING happens.

Have you verified the recipient address is correct and is a BCH address? Did you select the correct account under "account to debit"? Did you account for fees by sending less than your wallet amount?

Hey! I don't know what might be causing this problem, but i suggest that you use Electron cash for the process.
Download the client from Electroncash.org, after that it will ask you to create new wallet. Choose "Create new wallet" -> "I already have a seed" then enter the seed which was generated during the Ledger Nano S setup. After that press next, and enter password if you wish so.

Then you should generate a new seed with on Ledger Nano S and move the coins there hoping that you can send coins. If not, well then there is some kind of a problem with the wallet. Let me know if this works for you.

Edit: DO NOT REUSE THE SEED! Also it might be a software problem rather than hardware, but i'll wait for your response.

When I go to send them the send button DOSE NOT WORK. It may as well not be there. what the heck. here is a screen shot. I will send .20 LTC to anyone who can solve my problem. Please post detailed response if you want the reward. Post up your public address.
