For the most part true. I use mine to mine coins with low diff that I like and don't mine running my gpu rigs on it. this gets me coins that i want without spending my btc on them.

Even then it is inefficient. Asics in straight scrypt make it where you have to use a different algo for GPU's.

But now, if You are not paying extra power supply Graphics Card would spend, You could try Cointellect. I believe that is the codename for the chip of the GPU. If you use it you will be mining with gpu.
