If I recall correctly there was a page which displayed who had submitted the captions when it was running.

That was only visible to staff.

That makes sense.

Regardless it was shown or not on caption submit/voting page, i still think it's better not to reveal such information.
True, I'd like to get a dump of all of it if possible without the usernames. I didn't manage to get through all of it.

Can we get a complete dump of the caption contest? It others aren't against including the username of the user who submitted the caption it could be beneficial. As with the others in this thread I've completely forgot which ones I submitted. I believe I must have submitted over 20 easy.

Personally i think i'd better if the submitter remain anonymized

I got 4 of 6 submitted up there so that's chuffing.
One that 'people' seem to have downvoted was called 'Last of the OG scams?', which does not surprise me.  Roll Eyes

Does anyone know how the ads display algorithm works? Was it (1 in 10 chance) or (1 in 630 chance)? Because when I clicked on the topic ads, it was a repetitive circle of several ads up to about 5 topics and repeated again.

Thanks for making one of the topics I suggested in the top captions. I hope there will be a re-vote on such topics every few years.

I know that I submitted at least this one: [NSFW] World's First Bitcoin Tattoo, can't remember if I posted any more topics but nice to see that my submission scored some points.

I don't recall mine either but it was probably "The infamous pizza" (sounds like something I'd say), which is essentially a duplicate of "10,000 BTC for two Pizza's", so while being grammatically correct...er it's an invalid entry. I therefore respectfully request to be disqualified from the top table.

Would be cool to see the individual who submitted each caption.

I actually forgot which one of them I'd entered, myself... :/

How was the scoring done? I believe you could vote against the submissions; how was a vote against a post and/or title handled?

Code:
votePower = min(0.99, activity/1000)
            + min(10, earnedMerit)
            + max(0,min(10, earnedMerit-10)/10))
            + max(0,min(10,(earnedMerit-110)/100))
Depending on your vote type, you either:
 - Add your votePower to the post and the caption.
 - Add your votePower to the post and subtract it from the caption.
 - Subtract your votePower from the post.

We need to have a list with events/memes/sayings that originated in this forum and have their own Wikipedia page now. It's an interesting indicator of significance online. HODL is the most obvious one. Perhaps we should also create a Wikipedia page for BTC pizza.

I believe I had two in the bottom table and I voted, but it is unclear where that merit is. Found it.
