Holding for 5 years is too long for this volatile market as the market could go bloodbath all year. I will hold and sell my coins when it goes at peak price and buyback once it goes dip. Many good alts that can add on Cardano, I'm choosing stellar and Tron as these could also going to impress the market with their new developments. Sorry I don't have ripple this time. Ripple has to be taken with a grain of salt. Centralized and more than 60% of the total supply are not even in the market. Additionally, the court still didnt decide in the "Ripple vs Top Banks" case.
Ripple still has market capitalization $ 13,5 higher than Eth, but I think this is only temporary and deserves to be a daily investment. Cardano also has a higher capitaization than Binance, possibly still requires a lot of innovation to be able to increase its value again.

cant deny that both of cardano and ripple are very good stuff to invest in very long term period. i predict only a few altcoin will last until the next five year and both of them are worth of investment. But, my first option are still believe in BTC and ETH for very long term period investment, because i want to minimize the risk if sometheing will happen in the next couple year. Both of these coins are going well and continue to provide changes that we don't expect. So it really deserves to be an investment, value is not always bad and can provide benefits to me. I will keep it.

I have Cardano and Ripple from a long time ago, and I still hold it until now besides selling when the price was increasing before. Why bother holding altcoins if you're going to just pick the highet valued ones on the market? Just hold Bitcoin then... Altcoins are great because you can pick out undervalued gems from heaps of garbage and reap the benefits. Can't do that with coins that are already among the highest market caps.
We will see both of these coins grow, and have good development. XRP's market capitalization is able to shift ETH and this certainly makes the holders more proud and will continue to survive. Cardano has good growth, it can enter the 15 highest coins even though it is ranked 11th, and this is able to shift NEO and NEM.
The two coin which is Cardano and Ripple is good altcoins that good for 5 years holding. But you can add more coins I think like ethereum and litecoin which is more potential for me than the two coin that you mentioned. Bitcoin mayne the value after 5 years will not here and become dead if this dumping did not stop but if we can stop it and start rising market mayne 5 years become more better.

Yes, both the Cardano and Ripple are the best coins for holding in the long term because potential coin with active developments will always increase their price in the market. Better it very good to include other portfolio coins like ETH, NEO, ICN etc will help you to make some decent profit for holding long term.
Ripples do have unexpected developments and this provides a good opportunity for investors to be able to continue to develop their coins but are centralized. Cardano, I think, is also developing but not as good as Riak, the increase in value today gives a positive sensation and will become a favorite coin for the community.
Are you shilling for ADA? NEO is a joke coin that will die ASAP. EOS even better than ADA. Centralized coin as ripple when any decision must have decided by the company should not exist in the future. It's totally centralized coin for sure. ADA doesn't seem good. I prefer ONT rather than it.

Yes, Cardano is supposed to offer better tech, but ETH is already somewhat battle-tested and continues to be upgraded. Cardano hasn't yet proven itself enough. Not saying it's bad, just a bit of a big gamble compared to ETH which is also underpriced right now.
ETH is under-priced compared to its previous price but arguably very over-priced compared to some of its competitors. That's of course on the basis of it being inferior tech wise. I understand your point about it being battle tested but at some point the other coins will be too. ETH has to find a way to get back to being on a par with them, or people will eventually transition to the other coins.

these 2 altcoins are good to hold for long term, but what if that 5 years is a bearish market, just sell them when they reach highest peak.

Why not include Ethereum? the logic for the market is that, most of the altcoins are very trendy and follows bitcoin most of the time. Good choice for having bitcoin to hold for a long term plan.
