Go watch the 1959 movie, Journey to the Center of the Earth. Six went to the "center" of the earth. Two of them were crooks. When the big crook was caught, they held court. They could do this because it needed to be done, and there was nobody else around to do it. They could do it because that's the way British law works, and USA law, as well.

Court is made up of whichever people are forced to take part of it. Certainly pirates could have a court on their ship.

Further. If all the various governments of the world say that you, franky1, must die, but you are so strong that you, personally, conquer all the militaries of the whole world, who really is the government? After you protect yourself from death by conquering all the armies of the world, are you going to turn yourself over to their courts because you think that suddenly they will be nice to you?

ISIS is not the syrian government. never has been. its just a rebel group that just has "state" in the title, but doesnt have the government power to actually be a 'state' governer

In my view of an ideal society, the whole world consists of city-states. There are small cities (1000-5000 people), but there are also large cities (10-30 million people) and many other cities of different sizes. Each city has its own culture, its own traditions. But at the same time, all the cities around the world are friends with each other. There are no wars in such a world. All people in the world have one path - the path to good, advise and all the very best that is in this world. This is a society of prosperity, spiritual, creative and technological development. People do not poison the earth with pesticides. Do not destroy the environment. Eat healthy food (without GMOs and other). All plants (metallurgy, various chemistry, etc.) are environmentally friendly and do not harm the environment at all.
In such a society, people strive for good. After all, inner true love for everything in this world is the only thing that really unites us.
Therefore, many other people and I have already begun to try to act according to conscience. I think this is the first step anyone can take today.

A system that's based on morals, brotherhood or companionship is a shit system because sooner or later someone's not going to be moral or brotherly.

You are plenty mistaken. Everybody is a government to himself. A family is a government. Corporation bylaws are a government. Any organization or business is a government. Even wild nature is a government to itself.

You seem to think that I am against private property. What gave you that idea? By supporting a government that taxes people, you are supporting a government that takes private property from the people.

governments are a national system.
your trying to assume what hostile acts might work out for some in a army camp or a boat can also work nationally for people not interested in screwing each other over, harming others

Yes, to both ISIS and pirates. But both have governments that work, and much of the time their government is way more practical than the practicing governments that leach off the people... like most of Europe and the USA do.

But whatever I would do or wish, is not what we were talking about. We were talking about the choice available.

Their law is pretty much for savages in my perspective cause they will murder or betray anyone who has better gold or any possession of precious treasure even their own crewmates. A good governance in my perspective doesn't harm and rape or kidnap people for loots, a governance that will teach them how to read, write and have skills to help further develop one's country and doesn't necessarily kill someone.

Now, wait a minute. ISIS tortures, kills, and beheads many non-ISIS people. How can they be organized enough to do this in concert, except that they have a government for themselves? They love their wives and children just like people of other groups and nations do. Why would pirates be any different? Their government works, just like the government that ISIS has implemented for themselves works.

I would disagree with that form of government simply because nothing legal can never come out of an illegal activity. For the fact that they steal and rob other people of their resources is a reason to discard whatever form of governance that they are practicing no matter how noble. Sometimes, these people would resort to kidnapping which in most cases would lead to death of innocent souls in a case of  rescue attempts among other things. Another factor is the crude punishment which in most times is fast, rapid and is always led to death or permanent disability without giving room for any form of appeals.

But would you rather have your throat slit than go pirate for a while until you can find a way to escape your captors? Also, you don't really need to have implants to force people to commit suicide, you just need to blackmail or doxx them.

knowing the law, to utilise it to ensure i dont become a slave to it. i do not fear knocks at the door by authorities or fear hearing police sirens behind me when i drive. i do not fear being stopped by border patrol/TSA
however in your case, its different.. with you being ignorant of the law thinking that you being put in a pysch hold is giving you freedom, and worrying about what authority can do to you, makes you the slave

where as others who know right from wrong know what morals are, actually ensure the dont become a slave to prisons and mental hospitals

No group of pirates ever force a shanghaied person to become a pirate. If the person doesn't agree with them, they slit his throat and throw the body overboard. So, he has a choice... be a pirate or not.

Someday we might have implants that we can shove into the body of a shanghaied person, so that we can control what are normally his voluntary muscles. Then we will be able to make the joker be a pirate, by computer, totally against his own will to commit suicide.

There's fewer people so it's easier for each to be heard and each one contributes more to the overall effort. Also the reason why most pre-modern government that resembles democracy were found in city-states.

Big difference with pirates is that the cost of unrest is very high. The captain want to keep his "constituents" in order, which can involve harsh punishments but at the same time the consequences of a mutiny is high for him so also have to be fair. The threat of getting thrown overboard is also real for him.

Basically the closer the leader is to the results of his action, the more careful he would be. I think this is what's missing in governments today.


Go look up the term "shanghaiing". Let's see how much options one have in that situation.

for pirates robbing was work they had to rob or they would be poor and starve, you say they had a better system of government, but do you know what a high mortality rate they had? they died like flies.

Both Britain and the USA fought hard for their freedom. Now all you want to do is give the people back into slavery against the codes and laws that are made and posted by government, but that government people disobey, themselves.

it was not solidarity, it was fear of life

other pirates would persuade each other not to break the rules of the boat because one less hand onboard means more work for the others

the only time they kept prisoners was if the prisoner had value back on shore. why feed and hydrate someone with no value, who is not helping out the crew and is just dead weight

it wasnt about brotherhood or companionship. or morals. it was about survival
in many cases once they are heading back to shore after their thievery they would kill off a few crew to reduce the amount of people vs treasure.
there was also a hierachy with the captain being the tyrant

so dont think a pirate is all peace, loving brotherhood of equality

While this wouldn't work for nations the size of the major nations of the world, it might work better than having counties in the several States.
