good news, it turns out that you can buy a car with bitcoin, this means that bitcoin is getting known and more and more people know about bitcoin,, yes hopefully in the future bitcoin will be more popular, so this news shows that bitcoin is indeed worthy of investment, long or short term. that's why now many big companies are looking at bitcoin, because they know that bitcoin has a bright future.

I have been considering buying an electric car for a long time because such a vehicle has some advantages.
If you live in a country with enough support in terms of charging stations, why not. If that's not the case. You will be looking to charge it at your home mostly.

(it is a pity that only the USA dilers is on the list, and not the whole world).
It's mostly US dealerships, but there are exceptions. If you look again, you will see one BMW sales center in the UK, 1 dealership in Switzerland, and 2 from Japan.

Do I understand correctly that among these dealers there are no official ones, for example, from BMW or Mercedes?
Official in the sense of buying a car directly from a BMW or Mercedes operated warehouse? No.

Over the past year and a half, the list of 10-11 dealerships has not increased (new dealers have not appeared)?
I am sure there are many new ones. But I haven't been updating the thread as not that many people seem to be interested.

Let it be, whether your plan is to buy with cryptocurrencies or fiat. Op have created a big list of dealers that accept cryptocurrencies for car. Most of the dealers were in a specific location. This means the access isn't widespread. Maybe they'll deliver all around the world, but the cost of buying and transportation will vary accordingly.

As much advantages as disadvantages if you ask me.

That said, I have no idea why you're resurrecting a year old thread to say that.

Sometimes newbies successfully pump up some interesting topics worthy of attention. Don't scold me Smiley that I will leave my comment in this thread, which I see for the first time and considered curious, thanks to this. I didn't know about the existence of car dealers offering to buy the same bitcoin-car from memes Lamborghini (and not only) and I was pleasantly surprised by the assortment, as well as the number of auto centers (it is a pity that only the USA dilers is on the list, and not the whole world). Do I understand correctly that among these dealers there are no official ones, for example, from BMW or Mercedes? Tesla cars can be purchased by bitcoin only. You can pay thorogh Bitcoin by its initiate payment and exact price of Bitcoin indicated on the payment webpage with Bitcoin price window. You also can buy car by USDT value.
First you say that Teslas can be bought for bitcoin only, and than you go on by claiming they can be bought for USDT as well. You can't buy a Tesla for bitcoin anymore. After Musk made enough money by shilling Bitcoin, he decided the currency wasn't environment-friendly enough and he removed it as a payment option for his cars. If you go to their official website, you will notice there is no option to pay via bitcoin anymore.

maybe an interesting thing if this actually happens and the company will accept bitcoin as a transaction tool to buy a car and we are very sure this will benefit both parties if this really happens for the process of selling cars using currency. the digital money, because I think the sales of the car will also increase drastically if this is really done

Pretty expensive cars though plus I assume that they are only for local since they will probably have a hard time doing the exportation of those cars. Maybe someday I can buy one of those cars but the prices has to go up that it doesn't cost even 1 bitcoin to buy one since it's hard to accumulate bitcoin up to 1 during these times.
it's true as you said, buying a car in bitcoin may only apply in certain countries, because there are still many countries that have not accepted bitcoin in car purchases, such as in my country not at all accept bitcoin in any purchases, maybe only in your country that has accept bitcoin in car purchase..

every company will definitely be competing to provide the best possible offer to consumers for a progress for their company engaged in the automotive sector.for example the company wants to accept bitcoin to make buying and selling transactions on a vehicle. I think what they have done it is a very appropriate step with the acceptance of bitcoin as a transaction tool to buy a vehicle in their company, this will at least make an advantage for both parties to get an ease in doing business
it's true as you said, if the company accepts payment in bitcoin, it is certain that the profit will be shared by both parties, but in our country we still don't accept bitcoin as any payment, we can hope that in the future big companies in our country , and the government accepts buying cars with bitcoin..

Right,,, so name me one country where you can buy all cars with Bitcoin, except El Salvador,,,
You can't buy a car with Bitcoin in El Salvador just yet. It is true that El Salvador has decided to make bitcoin legal tender, but that won't come into affect before September according to many sources I remember reporting about the country's crypto adoption. This is an experiment and if it's proven to be successful, I am sure many other nations will follow suit.

So there it is,,, you still cannot buy a car in the one country that has made it possible to do so for everyone. And this is what I mean,,, even with full regulations there are still missing two crucial ingredients to make this sort of thing possible. 1st the facilities to make such payments and 2nd the ability of regular consumers to be earning Bitcoin.

However, this is constrained by state regulations, most countries do not legalize payment transactions other than the official currency in that country.
That's why we have a number of quality crypto payment processors which immediately convert your bitcoin and other digital coins into fiat the moment the payment is sent. The seller pays in crypto and the merchant receives his payment in a traditional currency. Everyone is happy. Check out BTCPay Server, Blockonomics, Bittery, etc. They even accept payments over LN, although buying a car over LN is really the best thing to do.

I don't understand what you are trying to say. But if some companies don't accept Bitcoin, they should have some reasons.
You make it seem like most companies in the world accept bitcoin, but in fact it's the other way around. The reasons why they aren't can be anything: fear of volatility, no regulation, self governed, lack of interest or willingness to set up a wallet and configure crypto payments...

other companies do not believe in bitcoin if they understand bitcoin they will also take Tesla but that will happen someday many companies will accept bitcoin.
I don't understand what you are trying to say. But if some companies don't accept Bitcoin, they should have some reasons. Probably they are still afraid about the legality to use Bitcoin and the future of Bitcoin as the digital currency. However, more companies have become aware that Bitcoin should have a good future and exist for a long time. We cannot blame those companies who still don't accept Bitcoin, just let them decide it themselves.

This kind of adoption does have a pretty good impact on the development of bitcoin, as a real function in the financial sector. especially for car transactions which in fact can be considered expensive and luxurious items, require large amounts of funds, rather than worrying about bank administration which is quite complicated, using crypto is simpler and faster. However, this is constrained by state regulations, most countries do not legalize payment transactions other than the official currency in that country.

in certain countries indeed all types of cars can be bought with bitcoin, because in certain countries already know about bitcoin and the price of bitcoin, but there are some countries don't buy a car with bitcoin, exchanging bitcoin to fiat currency is difficult, that's how I feel at my country,, because the government in my country still forbids bitcoin in my country..

Right,,, so name me one country where you can buy all cars with Bitcoin, except El Salvador,,, which I am still not sure anyone can pay a car dealer in Bitcoin even though the law now allows it!

I mean sure it is a nice dream to have but let us be real and accept that this dream is still just yet a dream.

I didn't know that there are some services that accept Bitcoin I thought Tesla was the first car related service that accepts Bitcoin as a mode of payment, it's nice to see that some services or car business accepts Bitcoin as a mode of payment. So it's true to say that you can buy Lamborghini with Bitcoin.
I also just heard that Tesla accepts payments with bitcoin, unfortunately it's just a game. Of course we are happy if we can buy a car with bitcoin, hopefully later many things can be bought with bitcoin. Unfortunately I haven't seen a bitcoin solution for small payments. hopefully in the future bitcoin can be used for payments in various fields of business

Cool, wondering how we missed these dealers? This is very informative post and could help anyone who is having lot of BTC and want to spend the same on big investments like cars. If we have so many Car Dealers accepting the bitcoin then it does mean we have amazing opportunities ahead. Just imagine a scenario, going into the car shop and scanning the wallet code to send few bitcoins, and you are all caught up.  Tongue
I would go when the bitcoin price is at its ATH. That won't make much difference but in terms of Bitcoins, I will need to spend lesser amount isn't it? Grin

Only car companies in developed countries adopt bitcoin or accept Bitcoin as payment. in developed countries or countries that still do not accept bitcoin, buying a car with bitcoin is still not possible. Regulations applied in some developing countries such as my country Indonesia, are only for commodity trading and are not allowed as legal payments.
What I know is that only Tesla accepts Bitcoin, but Tesla stopped accepting bitcoin in advance for the reason that Bitcoin is too wasteful to use the fuel used by bitcoin miners. Tesla will receive bitcoins back if the energy consumption of bitcoin miners is 50% clean and environmentally friendly.

Thanks for giving us useful information. However, I live in a country where using bitcoin to purchase goods or cars is prohibit. Therefore, no company wants to against the government or they will be punished immediately. If I had a chance to live in the US or the EU, I would spend my bitcoin to own a car to show my empathy to bitcoin fans among the world.

I guess many people will prevent me because of the potential of bitcoin and I might regret once the price of bitcoin increases higher. But actually, I do not care at all

In my country there is no car showroom that accepts bitcoin as a means of payment, even though the government in my country does not prohibit using bitcoin but the shops in my country are not ready to accept bitcoin as a means of payment, the reason is because the price of bitcoin is unstable so they prefer to accept real money.

Majority of the car dealers accepting bitcoin is from USA. Few stores from Japan, London and one from Switzerland is being added on the post. This means the wide usage of bitcoin is felt much on the different states of USA than rest of the world. Similar level of acceptable need to be found on the global scale.

When Lambo ?

In an article read about a person buying Lamborghini with bitcoin. This happened few years back. He bought a property in exchange for bitcoin and due to the bullish trend and it's volatile nature he was to pay less bitcoin in terms of USD compared to the amount for which he had agreed. With the profit out of the volatility he bought a Lamborghini with the bitcoins left.
When it comes to adoption and acceptance on some merchants then it might not be on full scale but we can really make out some comparison in numbers between years or literally on early years
compared to the present which does signifies that we are really heading there but dont expect much that we would really be going in full adoption because some people would still prefer on using
fiat and also we do really think off that bitcoin is much more worth to hold or simply making it as a speculative asset which is good for long term.

maybe many people will do this if.the company wants.to accept bitcoin as a means.of payment to buy a car, but for now we need a lot.of patience.to do this because in.my country the government has.not released.bitcoin as a legal currency in.Indonesia. my country, if.the government had.relieved.it then I would.have done that to buy a vehicle
I also come from Indonesia, actually without the government having to ratify Bitcoin as a legal tender you can still buy a car with Bitcoin here, using the P2P system, you contact someone who sells his car with a payment agreement using Bitcoin directly. but car sellers and buyers using Bitcoin are very rare here.

why most.people are reluctant.to talk about bitcoin maybe because they don't understand or because there.are many rejections from various countries.against bitcoin, maybe that could.be one of them.therefore if.this happens.it's not just a car that can.be used to buy bitcoin even there.are so many other examples.that can.be used to buy something but at this time we still can't.use it.we just need to wait for time for it.to hopefully.happen

this information is very helpful, and I hope there will be additional updates to the list of shops that provide car payments with bitcoin
Sure, it remains one of the things I can update sometimes in the future. But I also welcome other users to chip in and share what dealerships they know of that accept crypto payments for cars.

a few minutes ago I only found out that only Tesla implemented a system by buying a car with bitcoin but after reading this thread I just found out that a lot of sports and luxury cars can be bought with bitcoin.
To be precise, Tesla and Musk no longer accept bitcoin. After his successful manipulation and hype scheme, he decided to remove bitcoin from the accepted payment methods.

Similarly, in our country, bitcoin is becoming more popular, whereas previously only a few people were aware of it, leading to increased adoption of bitcoin, as well as government and bank discussing about it. Unlike in other countries, there are small businesses and physical stores that accept bitcoin; I also saw a bitcoin ATM, which we do not have in our country. Agreed, time well tell, mostly third-world countries are adopting bitcoin as a payment method, and those other countries will accept it in the future. Buying a lambo with bitcoin is fantastic! I heard about this news in 2016, and we thought it would never happen, but they are now accepting bitcoin!
I have used Bitcoin ATM in the past but i am not happy with the fees and there is no point in using them when you can purchase them with ease using exchanges and i never used them after that. Third world countries accepting Bitcoin can be a prime time news but what changes will it make to the ecosystem is to be seen.

If i am planning to purchase a car, i might influence the car dealer to accept Bitcoin so that it can be a huge advertisement for him and his showroom  Grin.

for now maybe we can't make transactions in buying cars using bitcoin because our country bitcoin is still not adopted by the government to make buying and selling transactions as is done by several countries in the world with many of these countries legalizing bitcoin as a medium of exchange legitimate ones like we can buy a car using bitcoin, so we need to be patient for the upcoming processing time

Meanwhile, I know that now we can buy anything using bitcoin if the buyer and seller agree to accept bitcoin as a mean of payment. Even though so far in my opinion my country still prohibits bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as a mean of payment, I'm sure there are still some buying and selling transaction involving bitcoin without the government's knowledge.

The adoption of bitcoin at this time has developed quite well and users can use it as a mean of payment including buying luxury cars like the one in the OP. But unfortunately, the adoption of bitcoin in my country is still prohibited by the government with its regulation. Regardless, I still hope that bitcoin can be adopted in my country in the future. One option currently supported by the government is to first convert these digital asset to fiat and then use them as legal tender.

I like Bitcars. Have never heard of them before but it's a good choice for a car dealer to call your business Bitcars right now. If he gets the SEO right and you google Bitcoin and cars maybe that's the perfect match and you'll find him right away.
You are right about that. When you do a Google search for the keyphrase "cars for bitcoin", Bitcars is the first result on Google. A targeted search for "buy cars for bitcoin" also places the site on the top of the search results. Even longer keyphrases like "how to buy cars for bitcoin" yield the same results. Based on that, I would say they get a good amount of traffic from bitcoiners who are looking to spend some money.

Cool and I didn't even check it out but it makes perfect sense. It's a quick way to turn your crypto profits into something useful. Otherwise you would have to cash out first and then get the car. This way you just easily transfer your money with any cryptocurrency and not even bank finds out you now bought your 7th luxury car within a single month! Tongue

Tesla made plenty of headlines recently when they announced they’ve made it possible to purchase their cars with Bitcoin. But this company was not the first to offer customers payment methods in cryptocurrencies. I have listed various other dealerships located mainly in the United States which have started accepting crypto payments as early as 2015.

Let’s see what kind of cars you can buy with bitcoin, and where:

3.
NAME: Bitcars
LOCATION: Geneva, Switzerland
OFFER:
Supercars, luxury cars, bikes, motorhomes, Off-roaders, Oldtimers.

ABOUT: Bitcars is a car dealership website that sells luxury cars and Oldtimers for bitcoin since 2016. Besides cars, it’s also possible to purchase bikes, motorhomes, and yachts. They made a post on Bitcointalk announcing their car dealership services in 2018.

There are many other individuals and sites that accept crypto, but I tried to filter out legit dealerships that have been in the car sale business many years.
Source: https://www.hotcars.com/car-companies-accept-bitcoin/

I hope you will keep updating the table.
I just did with two new additions. Everyone else can chip in if they find a dealership somewhere that accepts bitcoin and other crypto payments.

I hope atleast there is one place where I can buy car in asia.
You are lucky! I just added two used car dealerships that sell luxury cars for bitcoin in various locations across Japan. They have been accepting bitcoin payments since December 2017.

Take a look at #10 and #11 in the list in my OP:

10.
NAME: IDOM Inc.
LOCATION: 24 stores across Japan
OFFER: Mercedes Benz, BMW, Audi

ABOUT: IDOM Inc. is a car dealership that specializes in the sale of used cars. In December 2017, they introduced bitcoin as a payment option for purchases up to 100 million yen, approximately $888.000. If successful, their plan is to expand and start accepting bitcoin payments in 550 subsidiary branches across the country.

11.
NAME: L’Operaio
LOCATION: Setagaya, Nerima, and Aoyama in Japan
OFFER: Mercedes Benz, AMG, BMW, Audi, Porsche, Volkswagen, Volvo, Lamborghini, Maserati, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, Land Rover, Jaguar, Peugeot, Citroen

ABOUT: L’Operaio sells pre-owned luxury cars in Japan. On 1 December 2017, they added bitcoin as a means of payment. The company will accept payments up to 200 million yen in three of their branches across Japan.

Thanks to you @Pmalek, I have learned that there have been many places that have already been accepting Bitcoin while buying a car. And it looks like the USA is the luckiest country in terms of that.  Grin  And after Tesla, I believe the number of these places will increase faster. We could even see big companies like BMW, Mercedes, Audi starting to accept Bitcoin as a payment method which could be awesome.

Well, it was possible already 3 years ago to buy (new and used) cars in Romania with Bitcoin. At least one auto dealer, present in a couple of western cities was accepting Bitcoin.
I guess this is the website of that BMW dealer > https://bmw-grupwest.ro/.
It's interesting that the site doesn't show any news that they accept Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. I tried to search with "site:bmw-grupwest.ro crypto" and site:bmw-grupwest.ro bitcoin, but nothing comes up.

while Tesla keeps those bitcoins, what you've seen before were only shops using payment processors and while the payment processor was accepting Bitcoin, the shop received at the end of the day fiat in the bank account.
(Of course, if Tesla starts playing pump and dump games, I don't even know which option is worse...)
In some way, Tesla already did. It maybe can't be classified as a pump and dump scheme, but Musk made a statement the other day where he said that Tesla sold 10% of their Bitcoin bag. They took the opportunity to cash in on the price increase.

I hope that we will reach the point where we can buy chips and other snacks with bitcoin.
You already can if you use the Lightning Network and the store you buy at has a well-connected node. Netherlands is a place where some grocery stores allow their customers to pay via the LN.

Auto company start adopt cryptocurrency as payment, while adoption just in America, we can wait for another company adopt cryptocurrency as payment.
The more adoption of cryptocurrency will make its prices to the moon. BTC $100k its not just a theory
If the adoption's current pace continues or further improves, I am sure that bitcoin can achieve that 100k USD milestone, so for all who are waiting to get in, this is probably the time that you should get in because we might reach a point of no return. I loved that car manufacturers have entertained the idea of bitcoin being used aa a currency to buy their products, I hope that we will reach the point where we can buy chips and other snacks with bitcoin.

When we do talk about reaching those new heights then of course we would really be needing some big news like these on where big companies would join up on the bandwagon.
How much more if Toyota,Mitsubishi,Honda,Hyundai and other car companies which arent solely big in America but in other big markets as well would make some move?
For sure  that would really be a good trigger out for the market to rise up even more higher. Its good to look at that there are already several

In any case, it's great that more and more companies are creating the opportunity to conduct transactions in cryptocurrency. It is a pity that the news that this could have been done in Romania so long ago did not spread around the world as rapidly as it did with Tesla. In general, the trend for large companies to connect such an option is cool. The more we know of such examples, the more confident an investor who invests in bitcoin will feel. The market as a whole will benefit from this.

This is not about Tesla. We already know that Tesla has started accepting bitcoin for their cars. My grandmother has heard the news. She doesn't know what bitcoin or Tesla is, but she knows they somehow made a pact. Pact is the actual word she used.

This thread was meant to highlight that Tesla was not the first company do to so, and that it was possible to purchase vehicles for cryptocurrencies 5-6 years ago.

Well, it was possible already 3 years ago to buy (new and used) cars in Romania with Bitcoin. At least one auto dealer, present in a couple of western cities was accepting Bitcoin.

But... (there's always a "but") there's a big difference and not for the average Joe, instead for you, me and the actual bitcoiners: while Tesla keeps those bitcoins, what you've seen before were only shops using payment processors and while the payment processor was accepting Bitcoin, the shop received at the end of the day fiat in the bank account.
(Of course, if Tesla starts playing pump and dump games, I don't even know which option is worse...)

Auto companies are now starting to accept crypto for payment, I think now is a good thing to be able to use bitcoin for a positive thing. So I think in the future it will not only be automotive companies that accept bitcoin but many companies will accept bitcoin as a payment option
undoubtedly, today there is a positive trend in the sense that Bitcoin is more and more used by society as a means of payment. But for me personally, spending Bitcoin for this period is unacceptable, especially considering its possible growth until the end of this year, and possibly next year.

I do not know what other automakers sell cars for Bitcoin besides Tesla, but in the secondary market Bitcoin as a payment is becoming quite popular.

It is quite logical that the world's major car manufacturing and sales concerns, following Tesla, promptly considered the possibility of accepting bitcoins to buy their cars. That's right - who wants to lose profits and give a competitive advantage to an already strong company? Yes, we are expecting the "domino principle" in other industries, following the example of the automobile market. Finance, real estate, travel and so on.

Oh my god is that even real? Holy moly that is nuts I didn't know it even exist but that kind of service saves sometime to withdraw all your money and not be suspicious especially if you're with a colored skin. Just like I saw on the news. That kind of effort they're making accepting Bitcoin as an up-front payment for your car is kind of mind blowing. Not only it can't raise malicious intent you can asure your money is safe even before you arrive at the place.

Glad to know that other than Tesla, there are also some companies who are accepting bitcoin or cryptocurrency as a mode of payment to buy cars or even luxury cars. Due to this I confidently say that the adaptation of bitcoin or cryptocurrency is really worldwide happening. Bitcoin was really the biggest cryptocurrency all over the market cap and I am pretty sure that this will help the companies who adopt it to increase their sales as it added to the transactions of their company.

This post is really awesome. I have read the whole article and really was pleasantly surprised. I liked that Bob Moore Auto group partnered with Aliant Payments, and this enabled the payments not only with Bitcoin, but with Ethereum and Litecoin also. Of course I would not nowadays buy some car with Eth, even do not want to imagine what the gas will be for transaction. But it shows us that really lots of companies are accepting crypto and the less and less amount of people afraid to do this. It is really good steps!

Thank you so much for sharing this information. I was thinking that Tesla was the first car-dealer or company which has added the Bitcoin payment option.

But the reason people are talking about Tesla's doing such thing so much is of course their being one of the biggest companies in the world.
They also have the advertising that made it more ingrained that they are accepting bitcoin for a Tesla. I do love some of the option but I am pretty sure that they are expensive because they are made overseas and I know that cars made outside of my country is much expensive because of shipping. Hopefully we can see one in my country or a motorcycle shop do this too.

Good find. One more car dealership in Europe that accepts crypto. We can add Germany to the list together with England, Switzerland, and the company Lucius mentioned that sold a car in Croatia. If in fact that wasn't a one-time deal and they don't accept crypto on a regular basis.
After browsing the site, I can see they offer both new and used cars as well as an option to rent a vehicle. I wouldn't mind owning an Opel. Any car manufactured in Germany is good enough and more than that.

But the reason people are talking about Tesla's doing such thing so much is of course their being one of the biggest companies in the world.
Tesla is always in the spotlight. They get a lot of media attention, so it's natural that when they make such an announcement, it creates a lot of drama and can have both positive or negative implications on the crypto market.

Thats good to know that Bitcoin is already accepted as payment to purchased cars, not just ordinary cars but including those luxury and even supercars, Wow how I wish I am a Bitcoin Millionaire and bought Bentley cars using Bitcoin, by the way, I believe that the Bitcoin acceptance as a payment for the luxury cars and many other products will expand globally in due time.
I think that most cars that accept bitcoin or cryptocurrency as a payment is either the high-end ones or the luxury ones and also it is a pretty expensive than buying a fiat one because some cars are for imports only and that means that it is expensive as hell since shipping fee for a car is astronomically high.

1) The fiat payments will decrease the company wealth over the time with increasing inflation but on the contrary basis when they have Bitcoin as payment for their services and products they gain huge profits when the prices increase.Profit growth is their main objective.
Besides Tesla that keeps its bitcoin and doesn't convert it to fiat, all of the mentioned companies and dealerships use a payment processor that converts the received bitcoin to USD fiat at the moment of payment. Unfortunately, they can't take the risk to speculate with the prices. They have got taxes and salaries to pay.

Take the last 24 hours as an example. Imagine someone bought a car for 1 bitcoin (around $64k) yesterday. The dealership kept the bitcoin. This morning, the coins they received are only worth $61.300. They lost money over night. Tomorrow, those coins can go up to $70k or down to $50k. Most businesses can't that risk.

These days it has become a common topic of discussion that Bitcoin is being readily accepted by many as means of payment but there is a reason for this. The clever minded businessesmen or companies are completing their two main objectives by accepting Bitcoin as payment. Both of them are stated below:

1) The fiat payments will decrease the company wealth over the time with increasing inflation but on the contrary basis when they have Bitcoin as payment for their services and products they gain huge profits when the prices increase.Profit growth is their main objective.

2) With these technical updations and accepting btc and other altcoins company caters to the need of public and with more and more people getting engaged in crypto the companies want to provide them services according to the current market trend which is shifted towards crypto market instead of fiat.

3)Moreover they gain enough with Bitcoin holdings shortly ,that they have not gained during their entire course of business operations.

Many will join the list in every sector until btc become mainstream completed giving edge to edge competition to fiat.

This a good adoption for bitcoin to enter automotive industry. Elon Musk or Tesla started this kind of concept to accept bitcoin when someone is wants to purchase one using bitcoin. I just wanna know if there's also a payment tool using bitcoin in buying a real estate.

Elon Musk or Tesla did not start this kind of concept. Even before Tesla or Elon Musk bought Bitcoin and then accepted Bitcoin as payment, there were already a number of car dealers that accepted Bitcoin payment. Tesla came out as one of them later, years after the first dealer sold cars for Bitcoin, among other payment options.

As for real estate, just recently, the real estate company of Rick Caruso which is based in Los Angeles is now accepting Bitcoin as payment rents for its real estate properties. If they are selling, they might also be accepting Bitcoin offers. Also, Real Estate Maximums is also accepting Bitcoin as payment.

I remember that several sellers in Japan made it possible to buy cars in late 2017 and early 2018, one of the most famous was certainly L'Operaio, and more on that can be read here Japanese Luxury Car Dealer To Accept BTC As Payment Option Through BitFlyer Exchange. Also when it comes to Japan, we should mention another company that specializes in the sale of used cars, and in 2017 it announced Bitcoin as a method of payment - Japanese used car company Idom to support bitcoin payments.

One interesting fact that some may not have heard of, but at the end of last year the first car in Croatia that was paid with Bitcoin was sold - I'm not sure if it is the first in this area of Europe, but it is certainly the only one I know of.

Why don't we speculate as much about Bitcoin as we have no profit because Bitcoin has not been legalized in our country.  Bitcoin has already been legalized in many countries but in our country the government is proposing a strong opposition to Bitcoin.  Tesla and other companies are delivering their products through bitcoin but our country is still ignorant about the use of bitcoin.

in our country Bitcoin is still legalized as a type of investment that cannot be used as a medium of exchange for paying.
Many countries view Bitcoin not as legal tender but as a type of investment or commodity. From the top of my head, I can't remember a jurisdiction that considers Bitcoin money or legal tender. I thought Japan did, but after a quick search I found that Japan treats Bitcoin as taxable property.

Even these car dealerships I listed don't hold their bitcoins. They exchange it to fiat through payment providers such as Bitpay or Coinbase, but at least people have the option to use their coins to purchase something. What the merchant does with them later is his problem.

I think that any self-respecting company, to be at the forefront of technology, is ready to go to all the whims of customers, and will easily add another convenient payment method. Recently, this has ceased to be something surprising, since many companies, long before Elon Musk's proposal, sell their cars for cryptocurrency. Therefore, no matter how the government builds barriers to accepting bitcoin, payment in bitcoin is becoming more and more popular.

https://bitcars.eu/collections/buy-premium-luxury-cars-with-bitcoin-and-crypto
It is true that Bitcoin is increasingly used. Previously it was only for investors who hoarded potential profits. Now it can become a payment vehicle when purchasing. Therefore, buying cars and paid by Bitcoin is a very normal thing. Especially for large companies and services, they should accept payment by Bitcoin. The technology era 4.0 will open for electronic money to thrive.

A very informative read. Thank you for the enlightenment, i guess the media especially "twitter" is the real hype. Elon musk's announcement that Tesla will start accepting payment in cryptocurrency was blown all over the media, making it seem like they were the first to many and to me to do such. This is probably because the company's CEO (that is Elon Musk) is one who is known to be very influential and a futurist with a very large fan base. Another reason to consider as well is that in 2015, twitter (the chief hype media responsible for many markets shift like we see) did not have as much users as it has now. If it did, maybe a tweet from their official Twitter handle would have went viral.
Another very interesting reason to consider why this information was not widespread is that in 2015, many were not conversant with the term cryptocurrency, there was little acceptance and adoption, hence many were uninterested unlike now when the percentage of people with crypto currency knowledge has greatly increased.

Be careful with Lamborghinis on our roads. Those two don't always fit well.

My question remains would it be economically wise to use Bitcoin to do transactions considering the fee charged for each transaction?
Banks charge fees for all transactions. The same goes for payment providers such as PayPal or Skrill. I can answer that with a counter-question. Is it wise to use a bank to receive money over international borders considering that banks and their intermediary banks charge at least $€10-50 per international wire transfer?

I'm sure after Bitcoin passes $100k some people may be looking to trade up their car, what better way than to use Bitcoin to take profits and reward yourself.
While I researched this topic before writing this thread, I found an interview with a car dealer who sells sports and luxury cars. He mentioned that during the bull run of 2017, there was a huge increase of clients who purchased expensive cars from him with cryptocurrencies (mostly bitcoin). 20 customers in a short period of time.

I thought Musk and Tesla were the first and only ones and now I see that I have a lot more options to buy a car with my bitcoin, once I decide to sell my bitcoin and buy myself a new car.
