Honestly prices for brass Cas coins (2011-2013) have been under-impressive.  I wouldn't let go of this coin for anything under 1.5btc but you won't get anywhere near that in this market.  If you don't need the digital or the cash value your best bet is to hold until Cas coins get their proper valuation.  Crypto has now gone mainstream, nfts are bought by some influential people I would imagine these should be next in line.

TLDR: you probably won't get more than 1.1btc here on the forum right now....

Hello everyone,

I am from belgium and I'm new in the bitcoin sector.
However, I have received a few years before as a gift a casascius bitcoin.

It's a "1 BTC Brass Casascius Coin" - Version 2 created the 02-2012 (However, on the coin it's written 2011 but on "Casascius bitcoin Analyzer" they give me the date of creation as February 2012).

I would be interested to have an estimation of the price in case of sell.
I'm currently hesitating between unpeeling the coin and extracting the coin or selling it.

I know there was a debate about this but the opinions seemed very divided and I'm really hesitating due to the complexity of the sales process.

Please can you also advice on this ?

Thanks.

Can you post any good pics of the coin with your username and the current date? That is basically what really defines the value of it here, and proof of your ownership

PS - You can use imgur.com and just paste in the links - You cannot upload pictures yet since you are newbie, but others can quote them and they will appear etc...  Wink

Thanks and good luck regardless!

Edit - having  a coin funded by Mike after the date on the coin is pretty common, so no worries there either.
