I also don't understand if establishments like casino are thinking of the contact through plain cash, why they just don't wear the gloves? I have this thought in my mind but anyway, safety is safety and it's the most important to most physical casinos and other establishments that don't have any other option of payment but with cash. The adoption of crypto for physical casinos, don't think of it anytime soon. We have online crypto casinos that are dedicated on this and they have their base users and customers that prefer what they offer.

Wearing gloves is not enough as the virus can travel thru air. So going cashless is only one option to reduce the possible transfer of the virus. Though they can't implement full cashless yet as many patrons are still fiat users. This is the advantage of crypto casinos, gamblers can play at the comfort of their home touching only their gadgets or computers.
It can travel through air and contact through droplets. But what I'm thinking, to lessen the contact to the virus with hands or money, gloves should be the protection that we have for every establishment or every time we go out. But what I can't understand is they are not giving the emphasis of wearing gloves but only face mask and face shields. Anyway, the cashless system through operating casinos shall be for good. And we will never know if it's the door that's going to open for them to think about crypto but as I've said, not that too soon.

Eventually one of their clients or group of clients will request it, there are a lot of gamblers that play online on Cryptocurrency gambling sites and they also want to use their coins on gambling casinos, once there are group of high rollers request it, they might add they always want to please their high rollers, it's their biggest supporters.

But that is happening in many places, and I think that is not just happening in the casino. At least, by wearing the gloves, they can minimize the body contact from touching something such as a table, glass, or else. As you said, safety is safety, and the casino and another public area need to concern about that, so people who visit their place will not worry. If people use a card or scan the barcode from their phone can minimize the risk of infection, but not all place or store is ready for that feature. People still like to use paper fiat.

The online casino will be enough for us to prevent the virus's infection, and we don't have to go outside and have contact with other people, which we don't know if they are healthy or not.

Wearing gloves is not enough as the virus can travel thru air. So going cashless is only one option to reduce the possible transfer of the virus. If people worry about the virus in the air,  they can wear a mask and face shield to minimize the spreads. And with wearing gloves, people can protect their hands from touching something that they are not sure if that thing is clean. The online casino brings benefits to people who want to play gambling without having visited the local casino.

I love digital innovations so I see that this is a good step for the digitization of land-based casino payment methods. Coincidentally today I was thinking that when adversities occur, opportunities arise as in this case. The transformation towards digital payments is caused by the pandemic in response to offering a better service to customers.
I would use this payment method because it also comes with interesting benefits for loyal customers.

The pandemic has really led a lot of things, adoptions and innovations just like this topic that you've brought op. The need for cashless system in a casino is needed to avoid contact with the virus through paper money. They can operate again even without bringing cash on their pockets as long as they have wallets ready. This could also open to the possibility of adopting bitcoin into their payment methods, I hope that they will start to adopt it soon.

As long as people only use the casino card, they can minimize contact with the virus through paper money. They can wear gloves while they are in the public area, so they don't have to touch it by their hand directly. To adopt bitcoin to their payment methods, I think it will need more time to happen because the casino needs many things before they can implement the payment using bitcoin or other coins. If the casino can implement it, I think it will have more options to gamble instead of just using the card.

Its high probability that paypal would be the primary use, but there's still a chance for Bitcoin. Especially when its added also in Paypal, and its much faster compared to the traditional digital payments.
But right now, the safest bet should be online casino's, i don't want to go around in times of pandemic.

That won't be integrated. I found it way too much step if Paypal will be used.

Bank transfer is still fast and convenient compare to those as only need is 1 swipe away in a few minutes. Almost all customers today have debit and credit cards. And as per the article, there is a specific and designated card to be used that the casino owned. No need for other payment methods as customers just needs to top up their card.

With the cashless wagering digital wallet now in place, will you be interested to go to Blue Chip Casino to experience its innovative digital payment system? Also, do you look forward to having more land-based casinos accept Bitcoin, and if they do, will you be inclined to go to these Bitcoin-accepting land-based casinos?

It's been almost 2 years since I was the last time in a physical casino in the States. I was hoping to go again in January next year, but with corona pandemic still on the rise, I don't think this is going to be possible. Cashless Casinos with digital wallets and accepting crypto currencies sound awesome. I would definitely go and check them out if it's allowed again to travel.

No doubts there are many gamblers out there who also excited to try this out.

Once everything take place having cashless transactions will be one of the best addition as more people even gamblers are well aware with possibilities of transmitting virus using fiat. Allowing everyone to deal with digital/cashless will surely bring them extra securities as they don't need to hold any cash in their hands but instead enjoy the game using digital process.

It seems to be a good news if cashless system would be approve in some businesses most especially in physical casino in where a lot of players goes just to have fun, meet new people and earn money. It would be safe for them because they don't need to touch fiat just to pay for their chips and everything. In some Casinos there are grandfathers and grandmothers who are allowed to play and I think is it much better for them to use this cashless transaction to avoid the virus.

Wow we are really moving into digital or cashless society this could be the real start of it.
It is good since people don't need to touch any token to gamble at their casino specially on this pandemic for those who still wants to go in land-base casino's.
Let's just hope that they would also add up crypto on their cashless gaming.
Yes, we are. But we are still not yet use crypto in the land-based casino. The time will come for crypto used in the real-life, and we only need to wait for a while.
The pandemic gives other benefits to us, making people realize cashlessness, but it's not like a credit card.
And people will see that crypto can be another solution for their finance because crypto can give them benefits to earn money besides making a transaction and investment.
Maybe people need to familiarize themselves with using cashless in the digital wallet first before they know about the crypto, which they can use on their mobile phone.
Suppose many people out there can use digital payment from their mobile phones, and the crypto adoption can grows in many countries. In that case, I think sooner or later, people will be attracted to join in the crypto world, and they will use crypto as the payment system.

There will be news soon, the fact that they go cashless, they can't skip the popularity of bitcoin and other crypto assets, they know it will increase their revenue as the adoption of crypto are increasing. With proper regulation, I don't doubt they will start adding it one day.
If they will accept bitcoin or crypto it should be implemented with accordance to the law or hence with the proper 3rd party app that is in operation of Payment transactions that accepts crypto as well able to convert fast in fiat value once paying since if it's a government implemented law or rules tendency they will get details or taxes in every cashless transactions. Soon they will sure to adopt and accept crypto since gaming as well egamibg we're too popular during pandemics and they are finding more ways to get players in a much convenient transactions.
I guess that's only necessary if these gamblers wants to get rid of its volatility, but here we are now, we did not demand for that because we understand that crypto is volatile, we are just using it because it's more anonymous and easy to us, if we need a third party app or software in a casino to prevent volatility, then we better gambling a digital currency that is based on fiat value.

the news says that casinos or land based casinos are offering cashless betting, which means only gamblers that are educated with cashless betting can do it
cashless are not new and many people already learned how this work , the use of cashless is spreading like a wildfire . that shows that not only people with existing knowledge on technical stuff can learn it but every average people can easily learn it too .

and with that, they will also be interested to use crypto because it's undeniably popular now and it's an advantage to the casino if they will add crypto as long as they are not violating the law, which means we need regulation in this matter first.
sure why not ? because crypto was also digital but that is if crypto will be available on that casino because crypto are also complicated in terms of acceptance due to legal matters . adding more payment method will always be and advantage to a casino because there are people that owns different kinds of money

But if their own government created digital currency, Bitcoin adoption can't easily happen just like what China did and I've heard some news about US is also planning to have their own digital currency. Anyway, digital transactions is growing because of the pandemic, I experience this one as well when buying food in my local place, I have no choice but to use some app to pay for my food. Many casinos are working on this one now, they have to lessen the contact so they can help to prevent the various, kudos to those who initiated this program.

Cashless had already been implented in other sectors and only now that it gets rampant after the pandemic hit the world. Making online transaction is a bettee way also for a exchange because it can reduce the tasky procedure of forwarding and receicing payment plus with change and that alone can take time during the procedure of the transaction.

However, news that we are waiting are from bitcoin news that hopefully they will going to take bitcoin as part or option of digital payments or cash transfers.

If this will be implemented and adapted by most casinos, I think the majority of land-based casinos might resume their operations since one of the main reasons why the government is strict on halting casino operations in some places is to avoid social gathering. This could lessen direct contact in casinos and lessen the risk of contracting virus since casino games will be cashless.
Precisely. But this also means more money for these casinos as people spend more when their money is in their cards or in digital form instead of when it is in cash form. So this is a win-win situation for these casinos. Might as well give a public advisory upon hopping on these gambling websites to assure that the bettors are in complete control of their money.

So it is not yet confirmed whether they are accepting crypto currencies in their cashless gaming though I agree with you that it will be a good starting point for crypto currencies to be notice and can be use in the future if the casino owners can see a good advantage in using the crypto currencies in their cashless gaming.

Of course as fellow crypto users, I will be looking forward in seeing that there will be more land base casinos that accepts crypto currencies as their payment option as it will surely help the crypto currencies to grow further.

The problem which we will face will be that these kinds of paying will not stay anonymous. If they will do so, that’s okay. But that will not happen.
This means that certain intuitions (private! and state!) will be able to determine exactly where you have been in the casino, when and how long, how much you have spent and how much you have won.

You have a point this is a way to surveillance people because this cashless transaction can be tracked with time and location and if the player is a high roller, I don't know if this applies to Cryptocurrency, but either way it's a good step to introduce cash less transaction to people this is also a step further for Cryptocurrency adoption, we need to cashless now it's fast safe and east to implement.

For slot machines, commonly it has been cashless before this pandemic.
However, for others, it may be new.
One of the reasons why it starts and widens implementing cashless payment with digital wallets is the current condition because of this pandemic. As we know, one of the media to spread easily the virus is the money and also other cash payment method. That is why this cashless payment, hopefully, it can reduce the chance to spread.

Additionally, it also relates to the current development of the technology in which it also connects to the digitalization era. this era really concerns to make everything to be digitalized if possible.
As in the casino.

However, the online casinos are an actually good choice because it has provided the cashless payment so far. Moreover, they also accept cryptocurrencies for payment on certain sites.

Nothing had been said that they are accepting crypto but just digital currency in general, so it doesn't mean that they are into Bitcoin now. Credit/debit card can be considered as a digital one unless they are clearly stating the integration with crypto. But anyway, it doesn't make a big deal for everyone. We are believing that crypto adoption, casinos will soon collaborate with crypto, it can't be instant but the moment will come for sure.

This kind of development can't just be new to everyone. we keep hearing this as the adoption continues and it happens most to gambling institutions, especially for online gambling sites.

It's difficult to imagine not having chips in your hands.
What will I play with while looking for a game to play.  Grin

I guess for gamblers that will be okay as long as they can play.
It negates the possibility of passing the virus while playing with chips that are being carried from one person to another.
Yeah, that could be the solution just to continue the games.

What I am hoping is that they will also carry or accept bitcoins in this digital wallet that will also help bitcoin for global acceptance as people who would embrace this digital wallet will also embrace all its affiliates. The only thing I am afraid of is, if this digital wallet are being managed or handled by the central bank and then they will accept bitcoins it might be one way for the government to have a control over with the bitcoins, this is only in my perspective.
Accepting bitcoin is not yet said to be identified if it's necessary for them to do it, mostly government will only deal with banking accounts unless there is a 3rd party app that can be used in doing it. In my country there is 3rd party app which is able to pay or load gaming accounts and can used BTC to pay but in terms that it will convert it to Php to be transferred in the system or website so they can use it.

Slots machine are already a cashless game on casinos way before the pandemic if I’m not mistaken, all you have to do is to load your membership card and you’re free to play so I think going a 100% cashless casinos is still in the making and on a process. This is a great move by that casino and I hope many will follow especially on a game where different people playing on the table, as the chips can get virus as well.

That's right one of the reasons is the ongoing pandemic and cash betting is highly discouraged at this time and there would be no reasons for them for not doing this. This will make them safe for people who will gonna turn against them if they won't make some adjustments to their current place. Cashless gaming will lower the risk of being infected by the CoVid-19 and it's a good alternative that could even last long.

They should consider Cryptocurrency it's one of the best option maybe the company that offer this is not aware that Cryptocurrency is a good option for cashless transaction, but we'll see once it's fully operational one of their customer or clients will request for Cryptocurrency since many gamblers are also playing online on Cryptocurrency based gambling site, it's more profitable for the company if they are going to offer this.

If the owner of the casino knows about cryptocurrency for sure they will consider that since knowing what Bitcoin and other can offer. Also if those fiat base casino will add cryptocurrency for sure it's a win for them since they will also gather the cryptocurrency gamblers and that is huge success for them.

If they supported Bitcoin now its our turn to support them as well and I'm willing to play on any Casinos who adopted digital wallet and of course bitcoin. We want this kind of adoption, now we have to spend our Bitcoin and used it base  on its purpose. This is a big move by the Casinos, and very timely since everything are slowly getting into digital now and yes this pandemic trigger that eagerness to become a more cash less society, at least a small step to that.

So, in digital wallets, it's meant there that users will be able to pay with Google Pay, Amazon Pay, Samsung Pay, PayPal and with similar services? I don't know much about real life casinos but if it wasn't implemented before, then sounds pretty a good idea. But if there is a hope of direct bitcoin transactions behind it, then I hugely doubt that will ever happen because at some point casinos have a bad reputation when it comes to money laundering related tasks and so does bitcoin, so the combination of these two will raise false alarm among people, probably...
On another hand, this news is very good. More digitalization is expected, covid just hugely boosted this process.

The problem which we will face will be that these kinds of paying will not stay anonymous. If they will do so, that’s okay. But that will not happen.
This means that certain intuitions (private! and state!) will be able to determine exactly where you have been in the casino, when and how long, how much you have spent and how much you have won.

Why not definitely and it should be the case, countries should move to cashless as long as we the CoVid pandemic, and they should retain even if there are no pandemic anymore, the company that implement cash less transaction along the way will introduced Cryptocurrency because everything in Cryptocurrency is ready for cashless transaction I'm pretty sure that will be added sooner than we expected.

It's expected to happen since there are many demands coming from end users who now understand this system.

Adding bitcoin would be a great step to have more gamblers who are into this industry to go forward and use the service coming from the land base casinos, it's undeniable that there are many gamblers who are using bitcoin online, learning that bitcoin is already available from their land based casinos would add interest to try and used it with or without the pandemic.

Most likely establishment will accept stable currency that means the fiat currency. However, it is still possible to accept bitcoin by using a platform that will convert bitcoin to fiat when doing the transaction. I had a custodial wallet before which do this kinsd of transaction like buying load using bitcoin. However, it was change for some reason I don't know probably they are taking too much fee in the process of conversion or either the payment is not stable that it always change during the conversion process. It created probably statistical descripancy of payment in the long run.

No, that's not how most casino's work, you still have to put money on the slot machine before you can pay, so obviously, those memberships card that you are talking about needs to be loaded through that slot machine itself. The problem is how about those who don't have a membership card? So you withdraw your winnings through a piece of paper, you go to the counter and exchange that.

And perhaps this is the reason why Casino Resort Spa in Michigan created this more of a cash less transactions as a result of pandemic as compare to the old and traditional wherein contact is necessary. So I guess this is good and could set a trend for other big casino's to follow.

I only think that using cashless in the land-based casino in this pandemic will be a good way for the customer at the casino.
They can prevent from using the paper money, and they can protect it against the virus.
If the casino can launch their own card for their members, and the members could only need to deposit some money to playing gambling, that will make their customers and members interested in using it.
But to see the land-based casino will use bitcoin, I think that will not happen in a short time because they need approval from the government to accept bitcoin or another coin to playing gambling.
If the land-based casinos accept Bitcoin is available in my area, maybe I will visit that place and try to play gambling for a while and I am curious about how to use that.
Maybe that can make people curious and want to test it.

Some casinos in Macau IIRC have some games that are cashless, specially on the slots machine that they offer on land-based casinos. It's a good step towards limiting the spread of the virus and also an effort towards convenience too. Though I hope that once land-based casinos turn cashless for good, governments would not restrict online gambling platforms the licenses they really need to operate. People should still be given freedom on what platform they want to play on since it's their money that they'll be using anyway.

I admit that land-based casinos bring a lot more fun compared to online casinos, especially if you are playing with a bunch of friends. The physical casino ambiance adds a lot to the experience, one which is not present if you are just gambling in front of your laptop or desktop at home. This cashless gaming update is definitely a great addition to the gambling experience in land-based casinos.

Personally, however, I don't have a lot of time and money for it. It would be fun for sure but only occasionally. I am now limited to betting on a game or two every once in a while.

My speculation is that the casino just left with no other choice since the cashless method is encouraged during a pandemic. They are bound to follow the best thing to do to give gamblers enjoyment even during the pandemic. And cashless gaming is one of the best methods.

If there's no pandemic happened, there will be no plan for that and the usual game method is still their system up to now.

But I think they are now behind as I'm sure several casinos already implement that feature.

I don't request loans~
If there were more then this would be great news, I just hope other land-based casinos adopt such a method of payments. In fact, it's actually quite the norm for some places to use cards that has some sort of money loaded into it and just use said cards when transacting for something, but I most often than not see it in memberships instead of for regular use.

I do hope they instead actually add a way to load said wallet/card in their mobile phones, instead of lining up in a lounge type whatever system. It's an easy way, plus they can basically lessen the hassle for the casino itself. Looked it up, and found that they just load up in something called "cashier cage" and I'm just going to assume that it's a type of lounge where gamblers can load up their cards.

People have another option to use digital wallets and not paper money to convert their chips in the casino. There is a possibility for the cryptocurrency to be accepted as the payment system, but the casino needs to integrate it with blockchain technology. But I think that will need more time to wait and see the crypto used in many casinos. Perhaps, we can still play online gambling if we can't find a land-based casino that accepts cryptocurrency because we are comfortable playing gambling using crypto.
Crypto integration in casinos will surely take some time, if the volatility of cryptocurrency is still high. This is just another strategy of casinos to make the players spend more because they do not physically see their cash getting exchanged for chips, the chances of spending more than what is intended is higher when it was not cashless.

Yes I look forward for more of those land-based casinos that accepts bitcoin. I'll definitely go to one of those to help their business and to promote bitcoin as well. If these businesses go well, many more businesses will start to adopt bitcoin. The stigma of bitcoin is only used for illegal things will decrease because of this.

No news yet that it would accept Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, but having cashless gaming in a land-based casino is a big step. And the possibility of these casinos to accept Bitcoin or other tokens may not be far from now.

A cashless form of gaming or payment can be seen at some land-based casinos already.

And when it says cashless it doesn't mean it's about crypto. It's even more convenient to do online fiat transfers at these physical casinos compare to using crypto payment. In an online fiat transfer, it just needs a second to be able to receive game credits that can be used on gaming machines.

Crypto will dominate online gambling but not seeing it as a big trend when being added by land-based casinos.

^ I have already seen slot machines that use a cashless payment before but adopting cashless payment to the casinos, in general, is good news for it shows people are starting to take another step in accepting digital transactions in the future. Digital wallet by Boyd Gaming's Blue Chip somehow gives me an idea of 50% chance of bitcoin acceptance and 50% chance of killing the ideology of bitcoins for if this digital wallet will be accepted globally without bitcoins as one of the currency then it may kill the bitcoin somehow but if they do accept bitcoins then it can also be an advantage to us for people who will embrace the concept of the digital wallet then people will also embrace bitcoins.

I think this move is owed to the fact that they want to avoid contact of fiat money as much as possible because  of covid. There's a chance that they will employ crypto also, if some players will ask for it from the management. If they see that there is a demand about the use of crypto, they may add that also. But this development may pave the way about the use of cryptocurrencies, let's see.

It would be a big step if Brazil will regulate the operation of casinos, meanwhile i keep dreaming.

As for the news, I don't see it as significant. If they were going to accept cryptos so that I could buy at my home, go to the casino to exchange for chips, play and then convert the won or remaining chips back to Bitcoin, then that would be a big step.

I'm looking foward for physical casinos to accept crypto but that expectation isn't a big deal for me. I mean, it's just a simple addition to their payment options and no difference from the usual adding another payment method (payment processor). It's like they just add another payment for convenience or maybe they consider adding crypto by request.

I also don't see adding crypto-payment at these physical casinos as a good feature since as always, crypto-gamblers will obviously still do to their usual gambling activity which is online gambling.

Cashless gaming  intergration is not new at physical casinos even prior to pandemic. Chips or credtis can be purchase with credit or debit cards in most cases.

There might not be a reason to visit a land base casino anymore if its virtual reality but this could be going to a different direction by developing a wallet of their own which is likely their own digital chips as well. It must be part of the preparation for the digital dollar too, this is adopting the technology of the future.

Aristocrat has announced that it's launching its new cashless wagering digital wallet technology at Boyd Gaming's Blue Chip Casino Resort Spa in Michigan. With this, players can now use digital payments when playing slot machines, and they will soon be able to use their digital wallet on table games, restaurant and other amenities. Then if this succeeds, this technology will become available in other Boyd Gaming casinos across USA. More info in this article.

This is interesting, but I think that instead of creating their own digital wallet and a token (if that's what they are doing because I'm not sure from what I've read), they should have just accepted Bitcoin. I'm saying it because Bitcoin is already actively used for gambling, but also because it's reputable and secure. Who knows if their digital system is not going to fall victim to a hack? Or maybe the company will control the environment and somehow benefit from it additionally? This raises questions because I guess fiat digital payments (like paypass or something) is not what they have in mind, so if it's something new, there are potential additional risks. But maybe it's a first step in this direction of adoption, so it's potentially good news.

If they will accept BTC, its probably just to exchange it to their own token/chip.

I don't know why it is a big step for land based casinos, because We are not sure whether they are going to use cryptos or not! Slot machines are anyways cashless, they are probably just replacing the chip with a qr code enabled wallet or similar sort of things! It will be a big news only if they decide to use cryptos in land based casino!

Additionally, I have seen few land based casinos re planning to bring their own gambling website. That's a big step indeed because during pandemic, people weren't able to visit the land based casinos which severely impacted their busines. They are now preparing for the future!
