Stop wasting your time. 14.1 are bad for mining.

Furthermore, in coin mining, you don't upgrade to the "latest" drivers. You pick and stick with the ones that give you highest hashrate. They work, you stick with them.

Catalyst 13.12 are good.

How does the “failover” setting in cgminer work?

Well i did try the 14.1 drivers again with no luck.

I have worked out why the hashrate is lower with 14.1 drivers an this is that it actually dynamically adjusts your GUP clock speed.

No amount of tweaking with afterburner will let the core stay at what you set it.

And yes the flickering came back after installing 14.1.

Back using 13.12 no problems.

I'm using the 14.1 beta with cgminer 3.7.2 on my r9 270 and average right around 470 kh without any issues.

can you confirm if it'll work with 1ghz.com's cgminer edition for max coins?

Did the lag go away aswell? Anything above intensity 13-14 with the r9 270 made the computer unusable.

Oh... im using an R9 270 dual-x. (one 6 pin connector card)

Getting flickering or lil boxes sometimes like artifacts happening... unsure if this is due to my power supply (480w 80 Bronze) or if it's the beta drivers 14.1.

Will do a clean install tmorrow and install the official whql driver and try on cgminer...

Feel free to provide any updates... was driving me mad... it's a new card lol.

Yep mate, getting rid of the 14.1 drivers took me an hour :/

I tried SGminer aswell, no joy.

Hopefully a fix in an upcoming release.

Nope still problems with sgminer. I tried using driver fusion to remove the left over AMD drivers when I installed the new catalyst 14.1 but someone pointed out there's an amd uninstall utility. maybe i'll try that before completely rolling back.

Just upgraded to 14.1 and I also get the strange flickering. I heard that people using sgminer don't have this problem. Will test and let you know. If not I'm gonna roll back my drivers.

hmm, I did do that, but still no joy.

I can see you must be running 280X cards, Maybe its a 290 issue.

I will endeavour to get to the bottom of it.

do a clean install of drivers, remove previous with amd_cleanup_util_1.2.1.0.exe and then update to new

no difference in speeds at all

Seems the new Mantle drivers completely break the mining software.

I have tried cgminer kalroth version aswell as sgminer.

I have a sapphire 290 trixx it normally runs nicely at 950khs but not it wont rise above 70khs and get some strange flickering on the screen.

Has anybody else had the same issues? got any tips? for the time being im going to roll back the driver.

Cheers
