Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending
I got slapped more than this guy or Sonny Vleisides did stemming from stopping in the middle of the road on purpose--twice. I now have an SR22, and I don't drink or do drugs.

The problem - he admitted everything! Remember, anyone can send mail to you. Tracking or no tracking device, it does not prove the intent or any other illegal action by you. Better no to be intercepted and use drop addresses. No matter ganja, carding or anything else. It can be difference between freedom and prison.

I'm learning all kinds of new tips today.  Wink

Is there an example of someone from the Silk Road being prosecuted for buying/selling drugs? I thought it was too hard to track...

Yes, there is. Google it. He got caught with over an ounce of MDMA and an ounce of coke, along with a bunch of lethal stun guns.

Good to know. Guess I should rethink my career change.  Wink

Mount Prospect man in mail order marijuana case sentenced to probation

Quote
A Mount Prospect man who told authorities he ordered marijuana by mail from California in order to sell it to make a living was sentenced in Cook County Circuit Court today to 24 months probation.

Fred Vukadinovic, 62, of the 0-100 block of North Marcella Road, pleaded guilty in Rolling Meadows branch court to possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. Judge Kay Hanlon told Vukadinovic she was giving him probation due to his background, including service during the Vietnam War. She could have sentenced him to five years in prison.

Assistant State’s Attorney Mike Clarke said U.S. postal authorities and Mount Prospect police intercepted a package containing more than a pound a marijuana in March and placed a tracking device inside. The package was delivered to his residence and when Vukadinovic opened it, police arrested him, Clarke said.

Vukadinovic told police he had been receiving pounds of marijuana by mail for more than a year from a source in San Francisco and selling it because he was out of work, authorities said.

So, here we have a guy who has over a year purchased pounds of weed via the USPS via US dollars (safely assuming), and all he gets is 24 months of probations. But, heaven forbid one buys a couple ounces off Silk Road via Bitcoin, and...

I'm hoping that soon they wont be able to ignore the $ behind the growers themselves. It's taken quite some time, but some of the larger growers are the ones who have put their necks on the line and are using their own money to try and get reform through congress/senate. It is a much more lucrative market than even Bitcoins, even if it were to be completely regulated & taxed. People try to compare it to the alcohol and tobacco markets, but once it loses it's taboo, I see marijuana as soaring past both of those in sales.
