Well I would never click on those links like you have. Especially some random links in Telegram because I have been scammed before and it is used for scamming.
I dont use it much since after I was scammed on it, these days I prefer WhatsApp. However, I really don’t appreciate the way Facebook sells my data to third parties and I am aware they own WhatsApp.
I would consider going back to Telegram but I’m skeptical of their data privacy laws. I do not want my information to be sold.

Why did you click on the link? If that's all the scammer wants you to do you are already in a big problem, imagine that link is spyware active or malware active which requires you to just click, stop clicking on links you get from random strangers online, these scammers or hackers are always the ones to PM you first, this makes them 95% possible scammers, no stranger will ever text you on telegram for anything good.

I took out my mobile phone today and tried to clean up some space from the storage so that I could use it for movie purposes. I slid in my old telegram, which I used for airdrop back then, and with a network connection on it, a message popped in immediately.
Click on the link and message the said user, who sent me a link to join and create an account, which I did since I don't have anything valuable or intend to use the phone for anything serious.
registered with a fake email, which was a success. No confirmation code was sent, though it was an invalid email, and the page was sent to the user.
And I was asked to make a deposit and start earning 5% of my deposited amount every 24 hours.
Link to the site, report to save newbies.

This kind of scam, or getting infected with a link being click are dangerous, and i know there are lots of post being made to warn, newbies to never talk or even message them, because they are confuse or anything, once a message ask for a deposit, that's shady, and should be block, since there are nearly transaction, and in the sense that its unknown, you should ignore it, sometimes people gets hack , scam because they are curious.

Change your Telegram settings to avoid adding into scam groups.

For personal messages from strangers, scammers, you can create a folder like Scammers and all future personal messages from strangers will be in that Scammer group. Yo will not have to check those PMs.

How to create and manage chat folders in Telegram?

You're spreading the link inadvertently to newbies by posting it the way you did.

If you want to post suspicious links for people to be cautious of it, include it within code tags. Like this;
Code:

If you get an unsolicited message, it's bag to avoid it than to try to humour the sender. You could end up downloading a malware or getting outsmarted.

Yes, that's true never entertained or click the link on telegram even if you think you have nothing to lose, one of the reasons why scammers use telegram is that they can always get away with it, they are not transparent anyone can create an account and sent an unsolicited message.
Even if there are warnings on telegram people are just so curious about having a conversation and clicking links, telegram is not a dating site or a safe site to engage in business talks with unknown people.

There are lots of scams on telegram they can copy all members from other telegram groups and add them to their own group. I've been a member of some known groups(NFT related) before but after joining their group I almost receive many PMs from random users telling me that they know some a site where you can make profit but the fact is they are going to scam you.

If we want newbies to be safe better they should read this link below.

A common scams where newbies fall for in the trap. I usually skips these messages, I think most people skips them. You can't do anything by reporting the link, it will be the same. So the best you can do is ignore them and tell people to ignore these messages.

So you actually invest your time to register and check the site :p . Stop giving the scammers attentions is the best way to prevent this type of scam. Just ignore the message in future if anyone approaches like this.

That has happened to me numerous times. If you want to if someone is a bot or not, you can also click their name. You should "report it a spam" if the username is a "spam", which indicates that it is a bot.

That's exactly where the risk lies. In your bid to just follow through because, you feel you've got no further use for the device in following through any important or financial stuff @OP, i would say you never can be too sure. So long as you ain't dumping the device just yet, you just might end up following through to download some malware and have some important stuff put in place and the thing is, these scammers are always there, lucking in the corners.
You could imagine merely accessing your telegram after a long absence and they are unto you. The same would apply in the event of a malware.
At times, don't play around, just move past it.
