This post is intended to alert anyone using or considering using popads.net to their less than honest practices.
Up until recently I've had no real issues with the network and considering their size I'm sure there are plenty of publishers experiencing no problems what so ever. I'll even go as far as saying, it's quite possible that only a small minority are experiencing issues. But, to whomever it may concern...

Last week I tried making a withdraw from my publishers account and received an on screen notification telling me that I wasn't allowed to make a withdraw and to contact customer service.
I did so and later received a reply stating that my account had been banned due to fraudulent traffic.

  • My account is still live.
  • It's still showing ads.
  • My sites are still reading active and approved.
  • There has been no communications from popads.net alerting me to any problem.

So popads.net are continuing to earn from ads being show on my website while they have no intention of paying me.
No warnings of any kind, the account is still live and working without any hint of a problem.
They just refuse to pay.

It's not a lot of money, just barely more than the minimum withdraw limit, but I really have a problem with dishonest business practices.

So, just to avoid white knights tilting at windmills.
I will accept some culpability. It's possible that my IP has been flagged as I was working on the site, trying to figure out how to use their script in the most efficient way. (I had some problems and couldn't find any documentation relating to those issues. Customer service was no help. Trial and error was the only way to go...)
But regardless of any culpability on my part, their practices are not cool. Using publishers without having any intention of paying is NOT COOL!!!

So, if popads.net is working for you and you're getting paid, feel free to continue using them. Just be aware that if for some reason they decide they don't want to pay you, don't expect any warning from them.
