Former G0vernor of the central bank,Godwin Emiefele has been suspended and he will be going to kuje's prison, seriously when i heard about that man going to the kuje prison i was like eeya i feel sad for him,but when i remember that it was this same man that starve and suffer us for months i will be like it nothing let him go and feel what some poor's,and especially we the student feel when were in time of the cashless policy of a thing, but what is paining me now is that they don take all this politician into a prison that they will go and learn the lesson of there life.

     The whole story just seems corruption embedded. One who's being arraigned for a while then suddenly gets released. Now there are different views to this. First from the sudden release, it just seems like they've gotten their tip they've actually been expecting from him.
    When the same CBN governor was arrested, they made it seem like he was the most corrupt of all and he's mandated to rot behind bars because of his corruptible actions but sadly in our dear country, every man is corrupt and if things were to be done rightly, then everyone will be put behind bars. Emefiele had so many charges against him and if weighed he was guilty of most of them, yes no one was against his arrest or arraignment but they didn't have to put in corruption to their actions. This man was sentenced then out of the blue he got freedom, why and how? The country is generally in a mess let alone the judiciary.

I agree to this your take o, this morning I read news say Fed govt don reduce him charges from 20 counts to 6 and instead of him fraud charges wey bin amount to #6.9bn to 1.2bn and I dey ask why we contri and the judiciary system no fit dey trusted. Last year, during Buhari regime nah so dem rush go do naira redesign wey no get head or tail but e cause enough hardship for the citizens. Before the judiciary nah the hope of the common man, but right now with corruption eating at them, if you no get big moni your case no go fit go anywhere.

Yes, I'm aware. And this is after he pleaded not guilty to the alleged charges. With someone of his status, the bail money is a chicken change but where I'm bothered is on the issue of the judgement passed on his case. This looks like a slap on the wrist to me and considering how this man coupled with the last president caused the sufferings of many Nigerians, I expected a more stricter treatment. But then, that's politics for you.

Hope you know that Emiefele was granted bail in court.

To me I like as dem suspend that emiefele, no be small pains wey that man cause citizens during that election period, I no see any mago mago wey that naira resigning stop,  the election was still rigged, na we wey be citizens wey just suffer for nothing.

The country hard, I no go lie, weytin we suppose do na to torchlight weytin really de happen for CNB governor matter, Emefiele. True true, the man deserves the suspension, e own don too much, how can one man go de worry the exchange rate for the country, if you check during the election, na still him order the prohibition of the old naira notes and issues new ones, wey no even go round. I dey see many reactions on the mata of Emefiele. One tin I don understand about dis politics mata na say the strongest nai dey win and e no mata who dem use as pawn. The man, wether na d bidding of Buhari him do or na on him own he act, las las na him dey suffer am.

While odas dey feel say Tinubu for probe pipo for INEC for dia corrupt ways to take join body for Emefiele mata say e dey a bit unfair, somewhere  the Nigerian Stock Market dey appi as e don jump to a 15yr high as a result of him suspension.

Although I have never supported president Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his campaign and even after getting elected the president and also the electoral process was very much questionable regardless I am personally impressed by him removing/suspending the CBN governor.

Since his appointment as the CBN governor for a very long time Nigeria has not yet known any for of progress in the financial sector and the implementation of the last new naira note that caused hardship in the country was the last straw that broke the camel's back.

This movie is an interesting movie to watch. President Buhari indirectly used CBN governor to frustrate PBAT effort to rig the presidential election by having Emefiele come up with policies like new naira redesign and limitations on cash withdrawals. PBAT still rigged his way into office and now he's coming after the CBN governor Godwin Emefiele with allegations like financial terrorism, fraudulent activities and economic crimes of national security dimensions. 😃 In this life one really needs to be smart not to be used and dumped. The way I take the see Godwin Emefiele case about the new naira design palava na payback time in the hands of Tinubu. Nigerians know sae the main reason for the new naira design is to sabotage Tinubu's ambition of successfully becoming the president of Nigeria but it later did not work as Tinubu end up becoming the president.

Now wey Tinubu don become president of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele don become a scapegoat give am after avoiding arrest from DSS hands for a long because of the immunity wey cover am as CBN governor. News wey go d on for Nigeria be sae, Godwin Emefiele is arrested by DSS and em d on their custody and different allegations of financing terrorism and corruption especially in the dual exchange rate policy which no make sense were all brought before him to defend.

See ehh this Tinubu election winning has nothing to do with the party as dem self no been dey support am. Na the man compass give am the election and even that CBN governor was against Tinubu. Rumour been dey say the new naira note was just to stop tinubu from bribing his way into the office. Dem forget say baba na baba instead of buying vote, him buy INEC directly and other statesman like wike and the rest. Plus him loyalist dem payback all him dun do for them. Tinubu won the election without the full support of the APC governments so na payback time. The CBN governor na just the first step. If you think the redesign policy no get anything to do with tinubu why dem abandon the new note immediately him win.

There was no need to redesign the new note and wasted trillions of Nigeria money if you know say the thing no go work. What was then the use of the resign if we no see new note use and now the old note is back into circulation. The CBN governor needs to be investigated and persecuted if found guilty. Weda na personal attack or not, he did Nigeria dirty and need to be dealt with. You know how many people lose their jobs, life, love ones just because dem no get access to Naira. Make nobody pity The CBN governor, he desire whatever punishment he gets but I trust Nigerian politicians na, dem go find way resolved am wetin demselves without caring about how Nigerian feel about the whole situation.

The truth is he never would have acted on his own, he had backing, but right now he is being sacrificed because he tried to work against the new government entering and against some elites that he made to loose some money that they had saved away from the banks when he announced the new naira designs.

He was not just suspended but was also arrested by DSS personnels for investigation, same DSS that has failed to investigate INEC and it's Oga in the midst of the many proofs of serious corruption, and also failed to investigate the scam Nigeria Air project.

I pity Mr Godwin Emiefiele, everyone is angry with him because he put many Nigerians through many unimaginable suffering that period.

He is in a lot of trouble because they are also linking him with claims of Financing terrorism.

It is just unfortunate for CBN  Gov., Emiefele, as he is the scapegoat in this case. We all know how former president Buhari stood behind him. He has served his country and even though we know some things are not clear fact, like how he managed to throw a whole country into jeopardy at a very crucial time, with the Naira redesign and other stringent new banking policies that were and is partly the result of why the Dollar rate was high, almost about #760 -$1. We as citizens at least know we would get to see the drama that would unfold and heave a sigh of relief or disgust in the end.

The DSS that was reported to carry out the arrest, now say they do not have him in custody, the confusion has just started o.
The issue should be how to settle the economy right now though, with looming strikes, hike in fares and charges, pressing debt margin, removing the CBN governor anyhow is just the right move, ahbeg.

The thing is that our country is too open for anyone to come maneuver the way they want and thought off, so does it mean that all those hardship we passed through this Naira redesign was just for a sole purpose of a free and fair election that made people go through hell and for us to get our money we pay some certain percentages for one to get money.
What I sense here was a deliberate act and they should sake him for jeopardizing his office as the Governor. As an office holder before going out implement whatever thing it should be that you seat with all the body's and come to a final conclusion with everyone before taking it upon the president for implementation.

 You know, it's sad to know that a man who caused the sufferings of so many Nigerians is just being held in custody and has not been sent to prison already. Knowing these politicians, this matter would make headlines for a while then it's forgotten. Personally, if the president is serious about judging the matter, the ex president should be probed and taken into custody because he too is not guiltless.
 

Why should the president should be arrested when there is no yet an evidence to arrest him? El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna state and some other APC governors made some investigations around thqt time as they believe what Emiefele was doing may affect APC candidates during election. It was from what he said that I suspected that Emiefele took this to Buhari directly without the knowledge of the Finance ministry, and Buhari told him to ahead. If Emiefele did not say any other thing than what has been revealed to the public that way as I believe he is also reading what is going on news, people will think it is his initiative.



We can all see how people suffered after the new naira was introduced. Emiefele just went ahead to Buhari without notifying the ministry of finance. Likely he did not speculate and analyze what could be the negative effect of inadequate new naira, but only giving the positive reasons to create new naira. I hope no mistake is found about this man, and it is not bad for justice to be done which is a lesson for other people.

He might even serve a jail term because the man really suffered Nigerians and indirectly was working for an ethnic group to... I thank this new president, it's like this guy will work for the benefits of Nigerians. If fuel, cement and and dollar prices come down then the prices of goods and services will drastically come down to the poor man level. I can still remember when coke was #25. I pray. The CBN president was one of the person that was suffering Nigerians.

I would have expected that a long time ago the worst CBN governor in Nigerian history will have been sent parking but for reasons best known to the Buhari they kept him in office despite all the signs that he was not good enough to handle that office. No he has been suspended, there is no way back for him. But then, the man has stolen enough to live well after all the dust has died down. Well, I don't know about you but I am not surprised about his arrest by the DSS. Remember some months back when DSS was on his trail he had snuck out of the country when he was accused of funding terrorism. He had good intention because he wanted the terrorist to leave the farmers alone so that they can go to their farms and be able to repay their loans which was given to them by the CBN but then, as long as he gave the bandits money for it, it is funding of terrorist no matter his good intention. Another allegation he faced was the stamp duty charges which he is being invested by the DSS. They accuse him of turning a blind eye because he's colleagues in the banks were refusing to remit stamp duty charges from the thousand of transaction made by the banks.

You know why I do not pity him? It is because he is a selfish man who instead would have done his bit to fix the economy was pleasing himself and the his political godfathers. I would never forget how he went about business - AbokiFx and freeze the funds in young Nigerians who were protesting, including the ban on cryptocurrency transactions. Also he gave out too many loans than Nigeria has ever had to the government and was not independent from them, Now they have thrown him under the bus. Sadly, this is Nigeria and we know nothing would happen to him.

For me, I see the whole matter as political, because I can remember vividly well that before the election,  there was a rumor that the main aim of that newly designed Naira note & withdrawal of old notes from circulation was to prevent "Bola Ahmed Tinubu" from having the means to buy vote on Election Day & not the other cock & bull stories they claimed to have said, and Tinubu knew it very well and played his game the smart way which finally made him emerge the president of the federal Republic of Nigeria. So with that alone, I think was enough reason for President "Bola Tinubu" to have had him in mind since & long to have had him pay for what he did, which is what I see is happening right now. Because when it comes to corruption, Godwin Emefiele is not the first to have been mentioned to have mismanaged public fund. So why is he the first to be probe & arrested by DSS? You just think am.

That nah normal process wey supposed to follow government official. The one wey tire me na wen him say him no go down alone after him arrest. And the way naija operation dey nah say dis tin go make headline finish, after sometime the mata don dey swept under the carpet.
 DSS say dem don dey try to probe am for sometime but no see way. This na tok? All these pipo nah birds of the same feather. Pot no get right to call kettle black.
 

I see this as politics, politicians never do anything that’s not going to favor their agenda. The former CBN Governor has his allies and foes in places of power. To me this is just a show of power play by the president. I don’t believe Emiefele will be persecuted in court, I saw a video of him being escorted into a private jet to be flown to Abuja. That’s a first class treatment for a man who’s supposedly charged with all these crimes, don’t you think?

Personally I no see any better thing wey go come out for him arrest because for all the mago mago wey happen for the new naira redesign our former president Buhari been dey Emefiele back and I feel say if BAT wam investigate the matter properly then the former president should also be arrested along with the CBN governor so that they will explain to Nigerians what dey did with the money dey said they used to redesign new note that we are not seeing.

I think the arrest of the CBN governor is just a way of getting back at him maybe because BAT feels the new note that was introduced during the election season was done against him but I believe we will wait to see and hear the explanation of Emefiele but believe this the matter will only go no where because BAT will appoint a new CBN governor that will also be in his favour and the former CBN governor will later regain his freedom. Naija na cruise and dem go just dey play us make we know understand wetin dem dey do.

What I thought Godwin Emiefele said was that naira redesign will enable the CBN to have more control on naira circulation in the country, helping in discouraging ransom payment, help to reduce inflation and to help fight against naira counterfeit.

But people thought that it would help against manipulation during the last election. Some people speculated that if Tinubu becomes the president that it would be reversed and old naira notes would be spent with the new naira notes. But the court reversed the CBN naira redesign that caused suffering in Nigeria at the time. That was not long after the election, but before Tinubu was sworn in as the president.

Nigeria news was boring for me to read at that time and I was frustrated over what was happening in the country at the time as Nigeria completing becoming something else as people suffered more. But I read that 3 trillion or so of old naira was gotten from people and removed from circulation, but only 400 billion naira was redistributed at the time, into circulation. Which we should expect hardship for, and what that happened.

After the court said people should be spending old notes with the new notes, and later as CBN told banks to follow the court order, the old naira notes I first collected in banks were all very new, clean and like what has not be spent before. The new notes (the one that was redesigned) were not as plenty as the old notes.

Recently, in every 100 old notes, hardly will you see 2 new notes among. So what did CBN used the money for redesign for? Also hope he did not has hidden plan?

Or maybe some people release their old notes to CBN that time and into circulation while storing new notes now that causing it. Let the government probe Emiefele, but I wish the government should do it right to know if he is guilty of misappropriation or not.
