It's moderated, so it's of course possible for a certain post to get deleted. Even here, a post could get deleted. In any centralized platform, a post could get deleted. So perhaps there is something about your post that it needs to be deleted by the mods. But moderators don't just delete randomly or for the sake of deleting. By the looks of it, it's probably that you're heavily accusing something without solid bases. If you allege that there is market manipulation, for example, it should come with proofs.

Doesn't Reddit have certain requirements to be able to post to subreddits, and those can differ depending on the subreddit? I've seen that sometimes you have to be active in the community, and have a certain karma score within that community to be able to make your own posts. I don't personally follow the Bitcoin reddit, so I can't really comment on whether they have any restrictions in place along the lines of the above, but it might be worth checking?

Although, I appreciate the thought process along the Blockchain not being censored. Certain platforms would probably be best left centralised, because having them completely decentralised would be anarchy. I think that's the problem with us Bitcoiners, we think decentralisation just because it works in one sense, should be applied to everything.

I recently made a post on Reddit calling out market manipulation using Bitcoin. This post was removed from /r/Bitcoin without notification or reason.

I think there is an army of bots watching certain social media sites to ensure certain topics aren't discussed.

I'll be spending a few Satoshi to embed the message in Blockchain as it's been censored on social media.

Unlike social media, Blockchain cannot be censored by bots.

This is actual utility beyond just recording transactional records.
Few days back my account got banned permanently for posting some contents on reddit about cryptocurrency. Recent updates on reddit has made it hard to freely discuss your opinions. They will warn you only once and then boom. your account is gone. And even if you try to contact the moderators, they will leave you with a bot message and will never reply or review.
I have tried to create another account but after 1/2 days that got banned too.

Maybe you broke their community rules, they warned you once and you ignored it, that's the cause. Honestly, we don't have freedom of speech on social media today, that's why Elon wants to buy Twitter because he thinks it doesn't have enough freedom of speech. Grin Grin
I also have a reddit account but I don't use it, I prefer twitter. You cannot create a new account on the computer or phone that was used for the banned account. They saved your cookies as well as your IP address so if you want you should use a brand new computer you will create a new reddit account.

I don't think they are bots. Subreddits have moderation, which could react badly to your posts. Moderation can delete your comments without explanation. For this not to be banned, you need good karma on Reddit and talk with the moderators of the subreddit.

Point of correct all the social media you see are not Bitcoin forums and the only Bitcoin forum is Bitcointalk. Besides, Reddit and other social media are created before the existence of BTC, but crypto enthusiasts use them since they are not restricted.

I knew /r/cryptocurrency had issues and I made a post long ago calling out those issues.

But I figured /r/bitcoin would have less issues...
Yes,  /r/cryptocurrency  /r/SatoshiStreetBets/ are extremely moderated but /r/bitcoin barely takes down a post if you don't break the subreddit rules or post a shortener or referrals URL.

By r/bitcoin or by global reddit spam filter?

I'll be spending a few Satoshi to embed the message in Blockchain as it's been censored on social media.

It's not really effective due to long message and most people don't look for human-readable on Blockchain. You also have to split the message every 80 bytes, unless there's pool which want to include your non-standard transaction.

This is actual utility beyond just recording transactional records.

Some people would argue you're spamming Blockchain though, especially when the message isn't extremely important.
In addition I guess, is the content an individual is 'sharing' to audiences. Anyone could be a fan of someone but there are times motive would be obvious such as with continuously mentioning a certain project with bias and conviction. Well, I do get it, some would hype it up because they have invested into that certain project but, if it would all be your content for a period of time, that would be fishy and won't be surprising to be tagged mistakenly or not, as spam. I do agree with the construction of the statement or a comment if it would sound or look like following a certain format.

On any plafrom they can have their own policy regarding bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, and Reddit is one of them. They usually take hard on bitcoin-related posts and that's mostly because many people use this platform to advertise scam projects or illegal activities, also since there are many pots and topics there, that are hard to manage by their teams and the bots will usually do the job, so I think you write some keywords in your post which caused this censorship. Otherwise, Reddit got some sections for bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and doesn't have any problem, as far as I know.

I don't use reddit because of some of the things they're doing like shadow banning. IMO it's clear abuse of the platform's users.
How exactly is that abuse of platform's users?

I personally don't have nothing against shadow banning, because shitposters and spammers won't immediately create a new account if they got notification that they have been banned. This way they will keep spamming crap without rest of us reddit users having to see it. Win-win situation if you ask me.

They come to participate in a discussion and don't have to break any rules for their opinions to be deleted or made invisible. At least on bitcointalk when your post gets deleted you know it.

here is the thing though

elon didnt pump and dump bitcoin

he never said things like "everyone jump in today by 3pm, bitcoin gonna fly to the moon" (typical pump and dump influencers)

elon made an announcement of buying coins in december 2020 via a financial report (legally obliged to)

and later just added a #bitcoin to twitter and said a few positive things about it. but never told people that everyone should buy in strong that day/week/month and pump the market..

He did pump and dump it. Please don't defend that asshole.

He knows he's being closely watched and followed by many people and he has a crowd of fans, just like any celebrity does. Knowing this he starts posting bitcoin signs, little things in the beginning to warm up the crowd and make them speculate. Then he announced that Tesla is accepting bitcoin as payment which blew up. If some of those fanboys wanted to support their leader they bought BTC just to use it as a payment option and show their support. They all got fucked when just a few weeks later he announced that they won't be accepting it because it's bad for the environment which was a bullshit statement. He knew the power consumption of bitcoin mining long before he made the announcement. All that twitter excitement he was building was to pump and dump it.

It takes more than a few satoshis to embed 2.2 kb of data in bitcoin's blockchain (looking at your other topic). You should also know that bitcoin's blockchain is not a place to post messages like this specially your opinion or analysis of something. If it is removed in one place, there are lots of other places to post it.

This is Reddit after all. What else are you expecting? The big subreddits on Reddit and highly moderated.
You can't even post on big subreddits if you Reddit account isn't old enough and you don't have enough karma.
Do you have a developed Reddit account? Perhaps you broke some of the subreddit rules.
What was you post and what was the market manipulation? I don't think that some mod is going to delete your post just because you are writing about BTC market manipulation.
The blockchain cannot be censored, but I doubt that the blockchain is convenient enough to be used as a censorship-free replacement of social media.

Why would there be an army of bots if all it takes is one moderator to remove the topic? It's /r/Bitcoin's policy to not feed the trolls. Luckily for you, this forum doesn't have such policy, so feel free to troll Bitcoin as much as you want.

And good luck with embedding message into blockchain, with current fees you'll be paying a lot of money to embed your text, and even then it's not exactly easily readable, as data embedding is not a standard feature of Bitcoin's blockchain, but rather a by-product. So without knowing where and how to look, no one will see your message.

r/bitcoin has always been pretty strict in its moderation. I understand that posts need to be strictly about bitcoin (not altcoins).

I would also point out that online forms are typically privately owned (including those on reddit, and this forum).

If you don't mind, why don't you post exactly what you wrote? Perhaps people can judge for themselves.

I haven't seen undue moderation on reddit or any meaningful platform. Do you have any data or proof to prove that manipulation is going on in Bitcoin market, then please do share here. I think it concerns us as well.

I've seen it happen a couple of times, but not so often. If they don't want something on their sub, or they see that the community doesn't want that particular post live even if it's mostly harmless but it somewhat hurt the ego and the feelings of the select few, they'd gladly take it down. It's nothing new for reddit moderation, especially on niche subs that caters only to a few hundred people. They want to gatekeep their community from other people hence the strict moderation if you're not one of them.

Any centralized website has a chance of deciding to censor you. It’s everywhere now, all over social media too. It really cranked up during covid, all that fact checker nonsense. This is the world we live in now, it’s far from just bitcoin, it’s everything. So many cry babies get offended about little things, strong minded people are now the minority.

it was some cryptomedia/social of other people that started a pump/dump in ~february 2021 by using musks earlier financial report, by them (other people) trying to say that he was intending/will/is going to buy in february where everyone else should too..

thus not musk himself doing the pump and dump

as for the sale in 2022. well again. what elon announced. is different to what and when crypto media announced.

as for elon doing a Doge pump and dump.. well thats a different story with a different ending.

i understand there are alot of people that not only twitter follow celebrities. but they also sheep follow and take what celebrities say too seriously like its gods words that must be followed..

it gets even worse when people follow social media/crypto media when its those "media" that say things out of date, context, but mention a celebrity name. which then people then believe without checking

if your investment/trading habits are based on social media/celebrity . your doing it wrong

You are talking about manipulation but they manipulate posts, interesting. However, this forum is pretty cool to discuss about Bitcoin. Your post won't manipulate unless you break forum rules. Here you will find freedom of speech. I haven't been using Reddit, so not have much experience with that, but sometimes seen how subreddit delete posts made by different projects.

Some subreddits are more heavy handed then others. Some blatantly favor some users / views more then others.
On the flip side you can always create your own subreddit and mod it the way you like, so long as it does not violate the overall rules of Reddit.

Personally, I think reddit does work well for some things but not others. There are a few crypo subreddits that I check in on now and then that ARE heavily modded and I like it that way. We may loose a valuable post, but on the flip side you are not digging through a ton of crap trying to find something. Take a look at the altcoin / token boards here to see what happens with only minimal modding.

Unfortunately, Reddit has strict implementations and guidelines where they have the discretion to tag any post which they think violates their written rules and regulations. That is also one of the reasons on why this forum (bitcointalk.org) is much more bigger and reputable compared to any other forum or discussion of BTCs.

With their stringent rules, I doubt that the discussion there would be as meaningful compared here since no one can voice out their own opinions without them being tagged or the thread being deleted.

I really suggest that instead of writing your message there, create a thread here and start a discussion. People here would most likely respond and share their thoughts on the topic that you will provide.

Who is paying for removing such topics? Is someone influencing it?
(( Most of the posts are deleted by the moderators which might be offensive or on certain topics)) most of the times you are going to find clear cut bias and which can be highly influenced by politics as well, thus when we are talking about posts concerned with " bitcoins and how big personalities can manipulate them " they are definitely going to try and save the faces of people, Reddit also banned around 2000 communities one can only post about their biases online on other platforms and wish for a more liberal democratic place for people to talk, consider this forum!

I have been using Reddit for some time and I think it works out very transparently on Reddit there are this call post karma and also comment karma, this are like badges (to make an explanation) that allows you post or comment. Some Reddit group actually take them seriously and are strict with it, there are stipulated amounts of post karma you need to have to make a post and also comment karma you need to have to make comments

Like I said Reddit is transparent and some of those group put all this in their group rules which I suggest you always read first before posting, so it really doesn't first Matter the content of your post when you don't meet up with this your post automatically get deleted. After you have passed those rules then they look it's other rules like no spamming, no trolling and so on.

You can also check the message sent to you by the moderator on the reason why your post was deleted make sure you aren't the one at fault before making your conclusions.

In reddit's case, it's not a bot army, but a couch potatoes army.

At least there is free speech in this place, even trolls are allowed to make posts here that won't get deleted. (As long as you are not writting spam or plagiarism, ovbiously).

You must have probably violated some community's terms & conditions.

I mirrored the post here;
Did you contact to the subreddit's admin?

/r/bitcoin(same with /r/cryptocurrency) has always been extremely controlled. If you want little to no censorship, you can simply host your own content on your own server. It wouldn't be 100% censorship proof, but the likeliness of your server host taking down your server is very slim.
Even more resistant to censorship if you run an onion hidden service. That's what Tor is all about anyway.

I’m a regular reddit user before but there moderator bot is quite annoying when your post contains a word that match to the bot program especially on huge reddit channel because they want to limit spam as much as possible to make the channel clean. r/Bitcoin is not that strict before but since many user abused the popularity of the channel for farming karma the moderators was pushed to become strict maintain proper order. That channel is worst before the moderator decided to level up there moderating security.

Bitcointalk is the only forum that I know that allow all kind of opinion regardless of negative or positive as long as it was made in a constructive way which other forum doesn’t allow and only post that will benefit them.

Just post it on Bitcoin Discussion or Trading Discussion to save your time on sharing your content to the public.

Although it is moderated as well but I don't think such post would be deleted by any moderator. What do you think ?

I guess market manipulation may be happening with bitcoin but on lower levels.
It might not be happening at huge levels since that would require a lot of bitcoins.

Afaik it's a similar moderation team to here but they have to conform to reddit's standards too which is probably why it was deleted. The r/bitcoin space always looks quite dead (/much less active than here) whenever I go to it too and maybe the overmoderation has done that.
