What DJ Khalid as well?

Well this is how marketing works, they just paid those popular people and advertise their project even without knowledge on what it is.

I guess they received millions of $$$ for advertising this scam.
Funny enough, those celebs could have been sold on how BTC went from cents to 10k and how their produce does BTC better. So, all they need is just some fiat to pair with their tokens because it's gonna be worth the moon in a few months compared to BTC's years. Bam!
They don't even need that.

Why would they be keeping a token that's declared as a scam? they are out of it as long as they have received the payment for advertising that scam.

I'm sure ppl who advertise some shitty ICO only accept fiat (maybe in form of BTC or ETH at the fixed rate) and such ads are not cheap. I try not to trust aggressive ads/marketing, especially some referral schemes, they scream scam... For me Ethereum is a good example of a project where mostly tech/code helped to increase value... Some of the "established" coins have also aggressive marketing but the usage is nowhere near Ethereum numbers.

my friend said Centra failed to get attention from their ico
yet i see another ico get a footballer along with them
ronaldinho now,
i get feelings it will same with centra

Centra bought MyWeather instagram ads. Some celebrity with no crypto knowledge with a bunch of ads in his social media suddenly advertising a shady ICO should be a very big red flag to anyone!
Guess the shocking part are those guys who are constantly waiting for someone to tell them what to buy, what not to buy, when and where. No wonder the market's a mess

very funny, but this is dangerous because his actions harm others.
this will worsen investor confidence in the ICO. there must be regulation so that ico is getting better quality

Why are those people haven't arrested yet?
I hope that they'll never start a new project they scammed a lot of people and also me in its bounty campaign, fortunately I haven't invested in it even if I wasted some of my time
Don't worry about the bounty campaign, worry about those people that invested their hard earned money to that scam.
If I'm correct is this the one that has been advertised by Floyd right?

I hope no one gets stuck and loses his assets in this sad ico. but I'm confused, there are still people who care and support ico like this, who obviously have a troubled founder.

There is NO ICO! How can they be trying to scam someone? they aren’t asking for money!

No ICO? Is that the selling point? I'm not buying it. For a team that's currently entangled in 3 legal battles with funds from the centra 'project' frozen up, how are they supposed to fund phantom whatever?
The only way I see is if they cannibalize whatever they've developed so far with CTR, merge it into some code fork (they are forking ARK btw), present it to the community as a working platform and then a few months later start soliciting for "marketing funds". Don't forget the possibility of a pre-mine

Yeah, it's such a discouragement when you spend time and effort promoting a project and then end up being scammed. Unfortunately, we cannot just easily get rid of this kind of scams because scammers also are being creative and they are one step ahead of us so a thread like this would at least help those potential investors who might be thinking in investing in this projects. Thanks to the members of this forum who have done their research to reveal such scheme.

Scammers, hackers, phishers and same-minded people are always good in using new technology in order to snatch money from their victims. some are doing it subtly and some are doing it openly just like what Centra people did and now they have the courage to pull another magic trick right before our own eyes. Maybe these people should be send to a remote place where they can never contact anyone so that they can not anymore plan of anything that can victimize people. Good thing that there are now also people who are concerned of this industry and will not allow something like to go unexposed.

Whether it's a scam or not, better to just stay away from this one. The risk is too high, not worth it
It's an obvious scam and you can see the evidence through SEC report about centra was being alleged as a scam project. The CEO of centra has already arrested by US security and phantom just another scam project of centra scammer developers. I heard these scammers have been banning so many people from their telegram group.

How is it obvious? You used the word alleged, which means nothing has been proven. Innocent until proven guilty still means something in America. If they aren't asking for people to buy tokens, how can it be an ICO and illegal? Do all of you have law degrees when you sit here and state they are breaking the law?

Hi Centra Shill. Go ask Sam to give you a rebuttal for these questions that they will need to have one hell of an answer to in order to avoid going to jail and being fined to the tune of millions of dollars. If you can give passable answers it will go a long way with the court of public opinion.

1. What is Centra’s/Phantom’s response to their phony CEO Michael Edwards and why did Sam Sharma acknowledge his existence on two separate occasions in videos currently available on YouTube? Why should I trust anything this guy is involved in after that?

2. What is Centra’s/Phantom’s response to supposed partnerships with Visa, Mastercard and Bancorp being advertised during their ICO as well as videos available on YouTube by Sharma, when evidence shows that not only did those partnerships/agreements not exist, the company was being hit with cease and desists from all 3 companies yet Centra continued to advertise partnerships?

3. What is Centra’s/Phantom’s response to advertising an agreement for the card to operate in 38 states when court documents show that they didn’t have the license to operate in even 1 state and also the cost to get such licenses would have cost the company funds they never had access to pre ICO? There is also YouTube video of Sharma touting this ability.

4. What is Centra’s/Phantom’s response to coin price manipulation by Ray Trapani as shown by text message in court documents? Given this, what is to say that all Phantom represents is another opportunity to manipulate price to help liquidate Sam/Ray/Robert’s CTR?

Let’s see the “truth prevail”

Until they provide answers to all these and more, they're a persona non grata to me. Feel so sorry for those who're going to be scammed again despite reading all these

Centra can't return the money to investors as the SEC confiscated it and is now in control of the funds. That is publicly available in court documents. Secondly, speaking of scammers, lets take a look at the trust level of the person who first started this, Pali. It says a lot about what he has done to people and projects in the past. So you may want to consider where you get your information from.  Be careful as he works for another other project, Bitmillex. You definitely don't want to be involved with any projects who are supported by known scammers.

That sucks, if any of the fraudsters are coming up with a new project then this is really a disappointing thing for crypto community, such culprits should be brought to justice and put behind the bars, new projects mean that they are free to scam more people, i hope no one will get trapped again.

They have people who didn't sell in time, so that immediately gives them an audience who will maybe try to support it in hopes of recouping their investment. People overseas not familiar with it can be BS'd into it.  No one in the USA would likely put anything into this as a simple Google search will blow away all credibility, but people overseas aren't likely to search for or find American headlines and crypto is a global game.

Lol Im so happy this video surfaced, I have been looking for it for almost a year as I never got to see it before it was yanked. Everyone should take the time to watch the founder of Centra/Phantomcore get completely owned in this interview as well as incriminate himself multiple times by referring to a non existent partnership with Bancorp, as well as non existing licensing agreements with Visa and Mastercard, ability to operate in 36/28/30 states (and say that there are 52 states in the USA LOL) and the topper fake CEO "Michael Edwards" aka "Mike" and his convenient extra investment he laid down just in time for Sharma to talk himself out of a corner.  This video was down for a year because I am guessing Centra bribed this guy to pull it.

Good innovation but still the same concept like CENTRA which is a card and now they added up other things to make it more appealing but only fool people would fall twice for these obvious scams.

Phantom Core
Launch a full node right from your desktop

Phantom Smart Card
Decentralized NFC Payment Card

Phantom Merchant Unit

It's amazing that all they just bothered to do was to reskin Centra and try to pass off the framework as another product. Hopefully, the SEC is gonna pick up on this too

Centra already has a bad reputation for all crypto investors, even though they really want to make a particular project, it will be very difficult to build trust that was once damaged. I myself will choose to stay away from their project.

They need time to get that trust. It may not be a place for him in the hearts of investors, but if their goal is a novice investor, it may be easier to pursue.

What I find more galling is the fact that they are trying to raise another fund for something similar. They have to do right by the community - especially if their intention is honorable.

Thay may be true because scammers never stop, as there is still little chance for them before regulation they come again.
This is in violation of several laws already. You can't be indicted for one crime and go off starting another operation that looks like the crime you're being indicted for - even if you have to pay legal fees...
That reminds me, which celebrity would they be getting on board now?

It seems to me that they couldn't wait the moment they posted bail or whatever and stopped being a flight risk and allowed to go on the internet again they started working on another project, aka this one.

You would think being business minded it would make sense to wait until the SEC case is over and "hopefully" for them won. If they lose and go to jail then what happens to their shady phantom project?  Huh

I've been presented with evidence that Centra founders - or at least the developers behind it - have started another ICO that bears certain similarities with CTR and may or may not be a scam. The OP has requested that I present their evidence here and is willing to supply screenshots if necessary to back up their claim. Below is their original post

Hey everyone,

Quote
THE CENTRA TECH FRAUD
Sorhab Sharma, Raymond Trapani, and Robert Farkas, the three co-founders of Centra Tech allegedly tried to defraud investors via a token sale. They were all arrested in April 2018 and charged with the same crimes. Commenting on the indictment, Deputy U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Robert Khuzami said that:

So why is this a scam?

Technically it isn't just yet. However you do the math. If founders of an ico that has been built on false statements and deception ran by people who had no prior blockchain exp and were basically just trying stuff out and not really knowing what they were doing was legal or better yet knew they were breaking rules but thought it was worth it... I wouldn't trust these guys to be able to make anything durable.

Can I read their side of the events?

Yea prior to launching this new venture of them they created this medium blog post sharing their side of the events: Dear Centra Community — Let the Truth be known

Clearly it has been well formulated and from reading it you almost feel sorry for them. :p Words can be powerful tool.

So why you so certain?

The first ico I worked for was centra as a volunteer. I was not informed nor had I access to what the founders were up to or if what they shared of info was true or false. I was just "a guy" learning ico's and trying to do my job and gain exp. However I wasn't blind either. Without knowing for sure i did feel that the founders were a bit shady in their actions, communiction towards us mods and in how they conducted themselves in private in the mod room. I had no real proof to be fully convinced so I just did my job, quit and moved to the next ico project. Months later centra got hit with a SEC investigation and stuff went ballistic and I knew at that point all my suspicions were not wrong.

On top of that they are already lying to the people right now and deleting/censoring like they did on Centra.

Hi Markerone,

The team members are mainly the developers of the project from Centra and new developers, we are working to make a public announcement of whose going to be involved this week as the Foundation is not going to have a specific owner just board members since this is an open-source project.

We are contacting exchanges and in the process to figure out how to get the credits done appropriately.

Thank you.

Sam Sharma and Robert Farkas and most likely other founding members are actually involved on this and are (the real owners). The idea that a spin off group (the devs are owners aka board members) not controlled or in the pocket off the centra founders is 10%. Just ridiculous.

You could twist this into them being victims in this story of the us government; but if they did their jobs and token sale right then they wouldn't have had any issue that put them, investors  and centra into ruin.

Every week we plan to post our Phantom Transparency Report to go over the details of development and other updates we want to share with our community

The idea that they are really transparent and being honest to their supposed community is such a big joke. If they were really transparent they would not lie to their members or delete and censor like unprofessional mad people.
