Ripple is the only successful one that i know of. From what i know the Ripple founder still owns 61 Billion XRP our of the total supply of 100 Billion XRP. It's not really good for the investors, as there will always be a danger that the price could crash if he decides to sell a big portion of his XRP.

Which cryptocurrencies with links to centralized establishments whether it be banks or money transfer companies will have the most success this year. Of course ripple comes to mind when you think of centralized cyrptocurrencies but there are many others, even NEO has acknowledged that for them to achieve maximum growth the will need to work with the centralized industry to some extent. Please leave your thoughts and knowledge of what you have on this topic.
I like to follow their centralised developing program of Ripple because it is very different from 95% of the project that we are having right now, and this is a sign of success.

Ripple is one of the controversial altcoin because of being centralized crypto backed by the bank and it denied to listed in coinbase. But for me ripple is one of the great altcoin that good for long term investment.

well it depends mainly on how you define "success".

for example for many the success of some altcoin is when it is pumped the most and gives them the biggest profit. for instance Ripple that you mentioned had one of the biggest pumps of last year but also a lot of other dead coins that you may not even have heard their names like Panda, Moon, Html, Arie,... got the same size pump or even bigger. which makes them all successful with that definition!

but another way of defining "success" is its real adoption and usage in real world as a currency. and since that has not yet happened and will never happen for centralized coins such as Ripple, then there won't be any success for them.
on the other hand coins created by the government directly or banks for that matter may be used so you can call that a success.

see the development of crypto of course the centralized system will disappear in the next ten years because of the risk of getting hacked very large.

It could have a good effect for it's price because people would like it's technology but sooner or later this could be obsolete because this is not the real use case of the blockchain. People could create better innovations and would defeat this projects that are still pushing centralization

Well mate, In 2018 Ripple (XRP) is holding a market cap of 25.6 billion and is the 3rd largest token exchanged to date. Although this is well below the high of 144 billion, Ripples (XRP) transaction volume-to-daily market cap has increased. This is primarily due to a viable infrastructure, which is being created; while development on the decentralized token side has slightly retracted due to uncertainty surrounding Bitcoin. “Centralized Commercial Tokens” have taken dramatic measures in ensuring that there are key connections made between current “Legacy Systems” and future “tokenized” Blockchain systems. Development is fast and the only token which can bridge the gap rapidly between Blockchain systems and legacy systems, will ultimately win the race.

yes, I think Ripple and Tether. both have a cooperative relationship with a large institution, Ripple has a bank, Tether is considered to have a value of USD. and even until today no one knows about Tether development and no one know who is behind Tether.

I think the decentralized blockchain is better now.
Because even a NEO is decentralized, but it can help centralised companies, and that helps transparency.

As it stands now only Ripple comes to mind a lot other projects that should declare their centralized plus decentralized projects rather appear or portray a totally decentralized establishment because they feel once they are using blockchain ,they are more of decentralized than centralized.
This has further been worsened by regulations every now and then which makes people want to draw a large market to itself and will prefer to appear decentralized
