It's not best idea to use exchange to receive mining payments. I saw many exchange warned users to not use their service to receive payments from mining. Don't know how about cex.io. But why you don't want use your Bitcoin wallet for it? No big matter which one - online like Blockchain.info, desktop like Electrum or hardware like Ledger, all of these are better to use than exchange.

How to use this voucher:

1. I'll send you a voucher code which you can redeem on cex io
2. Click Balance tab upper left side.
3. Copy & Paste your voucher code to voucher textbox
4. Click Redeem button
5. That's it! Enjoy your Bitcoin Mining that works entire 24x7 days.

This gig only gives you a voucher code, and not a Bitcoin Mining Hardware or Software. If you need to know more about please contact me before ordering.

You can trade GH/s at anytime with Bitcoins Smiley

Now I have to ask: cex.io has been a cloud mining service, but to my knowledge they no more offer mining shares. These would be vouchers for former mining shares?

@OP: you dont need a complete wallet to recieve payouts from a mining pool. You could create BTC adress using a vanity generator https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Vanitygen
At one time in the future you might want to sync the complete blockchain into a local bitcoin client and import these private keys. Keeps you from spending them to early, too.

They're not, they've stopped selling Gh/s a few months back. Looking at my profile on cex.io and there's nothing about cloud mining. So who knows what that voucher is for.

Even if your deposit address there will change everytime you will receive payment, they might deposit any bitcoin sent to your old deposit addresses so it might not be a problem.

But I recommend you to either use electrum or blockchain.info wallet to have full control over your bitcoin.

Just... Don't.

If you want convenience, use Coinbase. They are also an exchange, but are much better for storing Bitcoin. If you don't want to store your Bitcoin with a third party, use a multisig wallet. Copay or Bitcoin.com provide good multisig solutions.

It's like asking for your salary to be sent to your friend. Just put it into your own bank account.

Your cex.io Bitcoin address doesn't change. But I wouldn't recommend using it because its an exchange site and might not be as secure as dedicated wallet services such as blockchain.info.
I'd personally use an offline wallet like Bitcoin Core or Electrum.
Hi all, I was thinking of using cex.io as an external
Wallet on nicehash.  Is the btc address that they issue persistent or does it expire after
A time.  Sorry for such a noob question.
😬
I don't mine to cex.io, but I use them for trading. All of my transfers in and out have used the same address. The problem you may run into is they use btc addresses that start with 3 instead of 1, so some pools may not support it.
Any pool that doesn't yet support SegWit shouldn't be mined on. The overwhelming majority of pools support SegWit and thus addresses that start with 3.
