Are you trying to imply it's impossible to make an ASIC/FPGA for LTC? If so then I think your question doesn't deserve a response.

I'm not implying anything junior. To be specific it is hypocritical for you to brush off others questions about scrypt mining with GPUs and then to have a donation for Scrypt coins in your sig.

And your reply is just ignorant. Such devices barely exist, so if you are claiming that the donation link in your sig is only for ASIC generated LTC, well that makes your comment even more laughable.

Carry on.

Upgrade to the latest cgminer, GPU mining is pointless now.

If that's the case you may want to remove that LTC donation link from your sig, no?

I am setting up a new rig that currently has Ubuntu installed.  cgminer 3.7.2  Catalyst 13.11

1x 6670 - spare card I had sitting around
2x R9 290 (one is external to the chassis on a ribbon cable the other is connected to the mobo).  They are identical cards.

For one of the R9's I cannot get the fans to go above 1300ish RPM.  The temperature of the card gets up to almost 90 and then I have to back off the gpu or mem clock to get the temp to come back down.  I have tried auto-fan (works for the other R9 and the 6670), setting a fan speed in cgminer directly and have also tried adjusting the fan speed in cgminer while running.  I am unable to get the fans to increase past 1300 RPM.

Any assistance is appreciated.
