Update: with "cgminer --scrypt", although it displays nothing, it is still running

However, I only get a Hashrate between 10 and 13 kh/s

According to this page
https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison
my AMD Radeon HD 7670M should give me 81 kh/s

What else am I missing here?

It is a switchable graphics laptop, and I configured cgminer to use the Radeon.

At the very least buy yourself a laptop cooler. They're fairly cheap. One of the most common problems with laptop overheating is the soldering on the power connector on the motherboard. Enough heat will break the connection. Your laptop won't be dead, but you'll be facing a hefty bill to get it repaired.

Alternatively you could prop it up vertically and turn it into a radiator.  Grin

So you found what most have, killing a laptop for pennies probably isn't a economically sound choice.

Doge, posting the commands you use to launch cgminer are helpful, as well as the hardware and software versions you are running. Error -55 is one I've never seen, or it's a small section of an error I've seen many times, hard to say.

Alright. I tried StableCoin with coin-base and gave a quick try with LiteCoin on mine-litecoin.com

StableCoin gives me about 10-15 kh/s while mine-litecoin.com gives 45 kh/s

At the current rates, 45 kh/s would amount to raw 64¢ per day, while wearing out my laptop and consuming electricity.

Doesn't sound like a good deal. This laptop is WAY better at encoding videos at lightning speed.

ahah! got it.

By adding "-I 15 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 3200", I get 81 kh/s

As for the password, I was typing both the worker and account password; only the worker password was required.

This syntax works with v3.7.2
cgminer --scrypt -I 15 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 3200 -o stratum+tcp://coin-base.info:3402 -u Account.Worker -p workerpass

I tried mining StableCoin with Scrypt with CGMiner. After some research, CGMiner 3.8.5 doesn't support scrypt. v3.7.2 is the latest version that supports it.

if I run v3.7.2 ...
cgminer --scrypt
it asks for URL, User, Pass. Then, the screen goes blank and does nothing.

If I run
cgminer --scrypt  -o stratum+tcp://coin-base.info:3402 -u Weblogin.Worker -p Worker password
I get: Unexpected extra commandline arguments
and a windows error: "cgminer.exe has stopped working"

What am I missing?
