I only have 0.1 BTC but your glad to have it if you help me find some cgminer settings that work better then what I have. I can get 600mhash safely ar 1100mhz but if i push it anymore I seem to freeze up after a few mins. Im using windows 7 with 3x 7970's. Temps are pretty good. Really want to get past the 600 mark : /

Which 7970 do you have? model and brand?

I have a Gygabyte and its working 24x7 at 1200Mhz with memory at 1050Mhz. The hash rate is constant at ~720Mhash
Best Intensity for me was 7 and worksize at 256

try

--gpu-powertune 8

And also catalyst 12.8 and sdk 2.8

On my dualx 7950s I would get about 630kh/sec per gpu (2 of em) (intensity 20) for scrypt.

If installing a different catalyst run the amd uninstal util first before installing the video driver.

--gpu-engine  950   --gpu-memclock 1357 and intensity 13 seems to not crash, and holding about 660 kh/s, so it IS an improvement.   Anyone know what bios would work better for me?  I dont want to randomly try things.

same story with scrypt mining...  I cant get past intensity 13 with out crashing, witch leaves me in the in the 500kh/s range.  Tried all sorts of settings. Again I think I need to flash the bios, but I dont know what Bios will work with this card.  I am very open to any suggestions.

I doubt you can go far -I 13, i have 7970 reference cards, Vapor X, Dual X and ASUS DC II, none of them can go more than 13.
I can help you with the config if you want:

-o x -u x -p x  --shaders 2048 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-fan 80

How much can you get with that config?

that puts me in dynamic intensity, and sets me at around 20 kh/s, so i changed to 12 intensity, and that puts me at 450 kh/s.  When I go to 13 intensity, I get just over 700 kh/s, but I crash after 2-3 minutes.
From all that I have read, Im almost positive I need to flash my bios.

:/ well you can do that, in any case you can go back to the first BIOS.
You can try with less frecuency on engine and  memory, allways respecting the ratio: --gpu-engine  950   --gpu-memclock 1357

I have a sapphire 7970 dual-x, and no matter WHAT i do, I cant overclock past 1120.  I have tried every other setting under the sun, but that is as far as I can push it.  I am thinking about trying to flash the bios, anyone have any advice on what will work best with this card? Im a bit scared to try flashing the bios, but it does have a switch if I mess up.

i used to have two Dual X 7970, they are amazing in scrypt (litecoin) mining, i can say, THE BEST OF ALL CARDS in scrypt mining, this cards can rise to 740/760 khs by just using --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 1500 and soooo low temperatures.

Try with scrypt mining, Worldcoin is a good option now, better than Bitcoin.

If you need some help with scrypt mining follow the Scryp Readme file on CGminer, or ask me, i'm the guy with 800 khs in the litecoin mining hardware comparison of guithub Wink

I use --gpu-engine 1180  --gpu-memdiff -150   -v 1 -w 256   -I 16    (no fan speed options cause i have water cooling system).

I've got 720/732 Mhs

the cards are 2 x sapphire 7970 reference with GHZ edition BIOS.

This thead/post might also be worth checking out: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/best-mining-configuration-800khs-on-amd-msi-7970-oc-203366. The poster claims 800 mhash (he has his card OC'ed, so without OC it will be lower).

Try diffrent drivers. I have sapphire 7970 and I have 611 Mhash at 1020 Mhz with cgminer.

Every GPU is different and will tolerate different levels of overclock regardless of whether the temperature is ok. Enable the gpu mem diff option like so:
--gpu-memdiff -150

then go into the cgminer GPU menu and change the settings, increasing the engine clock by 5 every 15 seconds or so. You will get to a value where it crashes instantly at that speed. Then reboot and start it 15MHz lower than that instant crash engine clock speed (and keep using the memdiff option).
