Current git also fails. In Makefile.am I change only
I have tried to reproduce this bug and cannot, on mingw while building on windows and on mingw cross compiled on linux. The fact that your version numbers are screwy suggests something is wrong with your git repository and this may have nothing to do with cgminer. The correct way to build from git is to ./autogen.sh first, and not to manually use autoreconf (yes I know the docs are outdated). Testing a tarball release version instead of build from git should tell us whether that's the case.
This is funniest part, I get 2.9.0 from git and after compilation version tells 2.8.5...

Okay I don't understand that one bit, but I assume that the build fixes that went in for BSD to compile broke windows. Meh.

Otherwise, yeah of course scrypt can only do scrypt when scrypt cpu mining. Besides, cpu mining is deprecated and unsupported.

Otherwise, yeah of course scrypt can only do scrypt when scrypt cpu mining. Besides, cpu mining is deprecated and unsupported.

Tried to make it "from scratch" on 2 "clean" machines and both are not detecting opencl properly w/o manual edit of configure file.
I think there is some small thing (additional change in "set" maybe? missed slash/backslash?) that need to be done on compiling machine to make it working.
Why 2.7.x are compiled well and 2.8.x only after modification of configure.ac?

None of those matter for scrypt mining. No CPU mining in cgminer is optimal, and that's intentional as it is only there for legacy reasons and testing and I don't wish anyone to mine on CPU with cgminer for anything other than an academic experience.

Thanks, it works on one machine (win7 32) on Win7 64 still no workie. I`ll try reinstall mingw and stuff.

Tried different -O2 -O3 -Wall, even added yasm to my mingw installation - same results.
When yasm is present I can not use -msse2 option because it fails on make.
