unfortunately I was asleep when you came into IRC
I wrote a guide to using cgminer on windows7 with a .bat file
https://ozcoin.net/content/win7-cgminer-setup-guide

for 6950s I am using

@echo on
ECHO "Example cgminer miner startup file (set your own user and password)"
ECHO.

cgminer.exe -o http://us.ozco.in:8332 -u graet.g2 -p 1234 -I 9 --gpu-powertune 5 --auto-fan --gpu-engine 870-910 --auto-gpu --gpu-vddc 1.05 --gpu-memdiff -125

It does take a little time and experimentation to get the best from your cards, every system is different, even same make/model cards can perform differently, makes it hard to hand out "the best" command line for everyone Smiley
Hope thats a help Smiley

Hi,
I was recently introduce to cgminer by a member of the ozcoin IRC chat after I reported an issue where the connections from GUIMiner/Phoneix miner kept dropping out with the pool. I have just started using cgminer and so I have very basic to no knowledge of using it fully.

Questions are:
1.How can I stop it prompting me to re enter login/pool details on every restart of the app?
2.What does 'thread 1 disabled' mean? This appears just before mining begins, then things run fine.
3.I get around 372Mhash/s typical at 885MHZ core cock and 320mhz mem clock on my HD6950 with this miner compared to nearly 400Mhash/s with the Phoneix/GUIminer.How can I use flags to boost the speeds to what I'm used to seeing from my card?
4.How many threads does my card have and what do threads mean in this app?

i want a clear, easy to understand answer that can help me resolve the issues highlighted above as I checked the readme and it's written in a way i can't fully understand this.I don't want trolls please as I just want a straightforward answer to the issues above.

Thank you

1>  By saving your configuration.  (S)ettings, (W)rite config
2>  Means it's running in dynamic mode,  after saving your settings, open the config file and change the "Intesity" from "d" to 7 or 8.
3>  Hash spped is Directly related to which SDK is installed, for 6xxx series cards, SDK 2.4 or 2.5 is best.  If you are using the latest from ATI, you are running SDK 2.6
4>  Threads are how many processes the GPU is working on at the same time, 2 threads is best in most cases.
