This is has been a real fun adventure thus far. for several days now I have been reading in this forum and have been working on setting up my own local pushpool server, I would like to invite a few friends to once it is up and working correctly, bitcoind is up and running, pushpool is running and reports initialized, and I also have miningfarm for the front end, mysql database is set up, every thing appears to be working properly untill i try to connect with cgminer, after i add the poolinfo http://networkipofserver:8343 and then add user.miner for user and a password. i get "Enabled Dead Priority 4:" for my local pool, I have tried every port that that is open on the server only 8343 will show up in pushpool as "client host ip port #### connected". however nothing is being mined and cgminer will not connect to the pool.

ya sorry my head is really spinning here and I have tried every thing I could to get it to connect.

server side:

Code:
[2013-03-01 01:44:29.693680] Listening on host :: port 8342
[2013-03-01 01:44:29.694469] Listening on host :: port 8341

[2013-03-01 01:44:29.695182] Listening on host 192.168.1.118 port 8343

[2013-03-01 01:46:56.365829] client host 192.168.1.72 port 48955 connected

cgminer side:
after adding the pool info and then listing the pools by pressing "p" cgminer v2.10.4
Code:
4: Enabled Dead Priority 4: http://192.168.1.118:8343  User:admin101.stargate

I also made sure that I had the latest releases of all the open source software involved.

the answer simply alludes me!!
