check powersupply.. if it just off suddenly most of the time it is that..

First it will only give you 950 watts on the 12V side, the good news is that it should be enough for 4 270s.

Second, this PSU has 5 rails.  Chances are you have two cards hooked up to one rail which overloads it so the PSU shuts down for it's own protection.  Think of it kinda of like trying to plug every appliance you own into one outlet and turning them on. An analogy: Even though your main line (the PSU) into the home can handle it, the smaller circuit (the rail) can't handle everything and the breaker trips.  You need to move some connections inside the PC around to get them split up right.

It looks like that thing has five 12 volt rails...

Check your connections and make sure you arent trying to put 2 cards on one rail...

Probably your powersupply. Just because it says it's 1000 watts, doesn't mean it's 12V watts.

How many amps on the 12V rail.

cgminer shut pc down once started, any idea? windows7 did detect 4 video cards

power supply dell 1000w

4 video card MSI r9 270

4 unpowered riser cable

any idea what could be the problem?
