ChainPoint 18 International Blockchain Conference was successfully launched on November 14-15 in Komitas Museum-Institute in Yerevan.

During the second day of the conference 8 Armenian startups were pitching in front of international investors.

As a result of the pitches, the Armenian startups Wirestock and Coinstats were recognized as winners. They will receive support from the general partner of the event “Fasttoken” and the organizer – “Nooor” Armenian Blockchain Association.

The main purpose of the above mentioned pitching session was to identify the weaknesses and strengths of startups, as well as to obtain constructive criticism from experts, for further development and improvement of projects.

Questions that were raised during the presentation outlined the relevance of the presented  ideas and clarified “blind spots” that were unnoticed during the pitches of startups.

As a result of the event, each of the startups passed a whole path of recognition, criticism and support on behalf of all representatives of the jury. The motivation gained during the pitches will become an integral part of their further development.  Mistakes and “blind spots” tactfully indicated by members of the jury, gave them even greater desire to conquer new heights and become more promising for future investors....

The conference was organized by “Nooor” Armenian Blockchain Association. Hakob Arshakyan, the Minister of Transport, Communication and IT of RA, spoke at the opening ceremony. The Minister highlighted the importance of constantly empowering the Armenian tech ecosystem. Notably, application of blockchain and organization of such conferences present the significant part of it.

Vigen Arushanyan, the President of the “Nooor” Armenian Blockchain Association, welcomed participants: “This conference is different in its approach and is set to become world renowned platform for connecting with the thought-leaders, successful entrepreneurs and trendsetting experts to outline the future together”.

Clear legislative regulation is needed for the development of IT and Blockchain technology in particular, according to him.

During the plenary sessions panelists agreed that Armenia has a great potential for the development of Blockchain and its applications, and that can be empowered by introducing a corresponding legislation, and that during the next year there will arise plenty of successful projects here....
