Yes - that's right - the change always goes to the second address, if it is present.
If there is just one address in your wallet it uses that as the change address.

is it that the second address of N addresses that I have is the change address for all transactions.
so say I have addresses 1- 5
1 has 1BTC
2 has 0BTC
3 has 1 BTC
4 has 3BTC
5 has 2BTC
If I send from 5 1 btc to some other address afterwards I would have
1 has 1BTC
2 has 1 BTC
3 has 1 BTC
4 has 3BTC
5 has 0 BTC
Is that right?
