It actually gives me pleasure to read threads like this, knowing that somewhere, many miles away from me, there is a person pulling his hair out, worrying about how he's going to get enough merits to rank up his shitposting machine.
It makes me smile that it no longer depends on activity, that there is now a quality factor involved which is hard to obtain. This is the way it should be, and it pleases me.
Getting merits by doing wrong/ negative/ illegal approach will lead users come closer to be banned their accounts sooner or later.
Instead, they should focus on how to contribute to the forum with meaningful topics or threads. At the start, it seems to be hard (and actually hard) for newcomers due to their lacks of knowledge about the cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, and the way bitcointalk forum operates). But I am sure that over time, they will more familiar with those and can contribute interesting threads if they have right approach.
Newcomers should pay their largest attention on learning when joining the forum. Knowledge will change people's lives, can change destiny, and of course, will change their positions in the forum (positions doesn't equal to ranks. What I would like to imply is their importance in the forum).
