I like it when moderators act fast to delete most especially the scam topics. I wonder that some people on this forum do not know that many scam threads are getting deleted.

I'm a new member of this forum, and from what I have understood and learned in these few days, I like your reporting because there are many types of posts outside the rules and regulations of the forum that are nothing but rubbish. These garbage posts will be posted as long as the forum exists, so it is our responsibility and duty to clean the forum. But not all of us can have experiences like yours.

Moderators do their best to keep this forum clean. Moderators are doing a lot of work on it, but they need experienced people like you to help them. With the help of your community, moderators can very easily remove random posts from the forum.

As a new member of this reporting system, I will say something. A few of your experienced people report this on a limited scale. Everyone needs to be careful here because there are a lot of random posts I've seen. I've been watching my local boards; if anyone posts something like this, I'll be sure to report it. This is how I plan to start. If everyone comes forward like this, keeping the forum clean may be more convenient.

I came across a post on our local board on May 21st. He posted there that our Bengali local board doesn't have any off-topic boards, so he shared a YouTube song there and said, If you like it, let me know. Seeing this, I replied to him that these songs cannot be shared here and that he should not post them like this again. After a while, I saw that post, and my reply post was reposted by the moderator, who messaged me personally that my post was deleted. Then, I tried to know a little about it and understood. We would then like the moderator to take action on it immediately.
See the post that was deleted:

Thank you, Charles-Tim, for handling things so nicely. We will also be encouraged to try to do the work.

Not that I made it a job, but I noticed that I just feel good to report the posts as I also like some red tags on my trust history which I think is good for this forum, to help against spam, and scam most especially.
I'm ashamed of realizing that I barely have a good report history. There's actually alot of ways to help moderate spam individually in here aside waiting on moderators themselves. One of the damn reasons why I stood up against a suggestion that moderators state their reasons for deleting or merging a user's post ...WTF??

After 600 (not sure the number) reported posts you get that button "report history". I was happy when I got mine! I still have only 896 reported posts. Keep good work!
That's quite interesting! I'm hearing this for the first time and I feel awkward for not doing what y'all do.

I would like to add that if a user has 25 or more reports, the good/bad/unhandled reports indicator is activated.
Imho, that is a good move and something I never understood, having a cap for report history being so high.

Speaking of it, why not make it immediately available after first good report? The only reason I can think of is that they want it to be a sort of incentive for people to report but I don't think its a very good argument for it.

You get to see your report history after 300 good reports. Not just reported posts, you need to get at least 300 reports marked good.

Thanks for the update, I can't wait to activate this option. I am just few reports aways to activate this indicator.

I like it when moderators act fast to delete most especially the scam topics. I wonder that some people on this forum do not know that many scam threads are getting deleted.

I mistakenly report some posts twice which the second one at marked as bad while sometimes it would be like I am drunk and I will know that the post I reported could be marked as bad while some are unhandled. I still have 98% accuracy which I think is great.
Awesome Work Charles-Tim and also thank you for reporting and posting in my Thread for Malware and suspicious links !
Its always good and nice to have some Users that keep an eye open for that things and hit the report to moderator button.

About the mistakenly reports you should be not to much worried about , this happens sometimes , happened a few times to me too.

I also have a few posts reported so far
Same here , just a few reported posts from me , lol
Code:
You have reported 21859 posts with 100% accuracy (21740 good, 51 bad, 68 unhandled).

Anyway everybody keep up the good work of reporting.
Happy weekend to all.

Thanks. Reporting is not an achievement but I feel good to report those scam posts. Sometimes I will even post under it for people like newbies not to fall for the scam. I hate scam than spam but spam are also unwanted.
Each reporter has their own interest in contributing to the forum - so I really appreciate your contribution as it has helped the forum expose many scams.

I also have a few posts reported so far - but again, there aren't any more than other top reporters. My percentage is still at 99% - but there are a lot of unhandled report, while some others are marked bad.

This is a good one, bro. I actually did make it a habit to report posts after I joined this forum and realized I could report topics that were started on the wrong board, but I just got tired along the line, and for a very long time, I have not reported any posts again. That's why I really appreciate your effort for the number of reports you have archived. Keep the clear-up going. I tap into your courage to gain the enthusiasm to start reposting again. So far, I have only reported 100+ posts.

I’m curious, scam is not moderated on the forum. So what do you write as comment when reporting scam posts and how often do the mods handle these reports? Like this one for example.
When he said "scam posts", he was probably referring to malware/phishing post/plagiarism shitposts which usually gets deleted if reported.

Like this one for example.
These kind of posts won't get deleted, unless they are breaking some other forum rule.

@Charles-Tim keep up the good work!

So far my reported posts are below 100 and the unhandled ones are quite high in number but still I have reported some posts which got deleted within seconds after the report.

Sometimes when I give so much time to the forum, then I try my best to look for the posts that should get reported and most of my reports have gone well so far.

Charles-Tim you have been doing a great job, keep reporting all those posts that deserve to get reported, that will help to make the forum a clean place.

I think it is after 300 reports.

@Charles-Tim good job being helpful on the forum. I've had some interaction with you in joining campaigns I have managed, but you stay below the radar and do your work. Keep it up!!!

Good job Charles-Tim, your name always pops up in Theymos top reporters thread. This is something worth applauding. It is acts like yours that help keep the forum clean. Thank you and keep it up.

I think I got my mine after 300 reports, though when I first saw report history button I thought it was a new SMF patch Theymos, then I got to find out that you only get it when you have reported a certain number of posts. It’s a really nice feature as you get to see the reports that are marked good, bad, and unhandled.

Good job, Charles. Of interest are reports that are not processed by moderators and remain under consideration. If we could go back and correct our reports and resubmit them with a better definition, I think the number of outstanding ones could be lowered. I have a lot of unprocessed ones, although most were done at the very beginning of my reports.

Over time, we see mistakes better.
Although yes, moderators often agree with us, which is encouraging. It doesn’t take even a minute to send a report; if everyone were attentive to the submission, the forum would sparkle with cleanliness. Cheesy

Wow this is huge, I started being actively reporting last year after seeing Ratimov 1000 report thread at that time though not that I literally went to be looking for spam posts but most times I stumbled upon them which I can say it's highly common in the Bitcoin discussion board. Keep it up boss

That's interesting--I thought when it appeared on my screen that it was just a new feature Theymos had introduced for everyone, not something you got to see once you reached a reporting milestone.  You'd think I'd know stuff like this after all this time, but alas.

Charles-Tim, it's nice to see you're still actively reporting a lot of posts/threads after being here for 4 years.  There was a time when I would spend maybe 1-2 hours a day just looking for shitposts and the occasional spam thread to report, but around 2018 when the merit system got rolled out I sort of lost my enthusiasm.  That probably isn't unique to me, so hopefully newer members and ones who aren't burned out on reporting (like yourself) will keep up the fight, because the moderators definitely need help from the community.  I'll still report posts if they're in the wrong language or are obviously spam, but if I were to spend any time in the altcoin section (for instance) I'd probably start feeling like I was fighting a losing battle very quickly.  There are some sections that seem to be immune to reporters and mods--like a mutant cockroach infestation or some such thing.

Props to all of you reporters of bad posts and threads!

Members like you help keep the forum clean from garbage. The reason why this forum has continued to flourish is because it has maintained its quality for many years. If not for members who dedicate time to report these scams and spam posts, the quality would have dropped over time. I checked my record of reported posts and it is not even 1% close to yours. But you have just motivated me to step up my game and help keep the forum clean. Keep up the good work Tim, you will soon get to the 10,000 mark.

I am sometimes very active in sending reports to moderators, sometimes very lazy. When I'm in a good mood - I tend to spend a lot of time browsing forums and finding some posts worth reporting, but otherwise I'm only active for 1 to 2 hours when I'm in a less pleasant mood.
I do not find the posts to report, they find me and I report them.

Charles-Tim - you are a very dedicated user on the forum, congratulation on what you have achieved so far even if you didn't expect this to be an achievement thread.

I know there are better reporters than you and I - but being a reporter is a contribution that is rarely recognized if you never post about it. But you know - I am very interested in your active time on the forum which has reached 287 days, it makes me lose focus on the number of reports you have made.

Charles-Tim - you are a very dedicated user on the forum, congratulation on what you have achieved so far even if you didn't expect this to be an achievement thread.
