I'd bet if I had a h8 thread it would not be edited either, this is a fairly free forum.  (Considering what you've said, btw.)

I've made numerous requests for moderation and sent PMs to moderators that have been ignored.

It's clear now that this thread has been allowed to exist because I criticized Theymos in another thread.

This forum is run by a vindictive child.

Ther are some people who have the sentiment that you shouldn't involve the authorities when it comes to Bitcoins because you're going to draw bigger and bigger government attention. I'm not sure how I feel on this, especially since there are FBI and ECB reports regarding bitcoin, it seems to be seen at the highest levels already. However, I did think that running to the SEC in the case of the Trendon Shavers/pirateat40 scam was not the wisest thing.

I would just mark it as a difference of opinion.

*Maybe* so, but I looked and I said "I didn't realize.... pretty much promotes" that's not particularly harsh wording, so I will let it stand for now.  I prefer not to edit my comments, but if something changes, I will!

I read a LOT of threads.  Really.  I read because I am interested, but also to get an understanding of the bitcoin community on this forum in an effort to stay ahead of the curve.  So far I haven't lost any bitcoins to scams, but I think it is only a matter of time until I am taken in.  I would hope that others on this forum would be sympathetic when that happens, not gleeful or full of superior hind-sight related comments.

I'm not here to make friends or have fun, but I do find a lot of the content here highly entertaining.  This is a "hobby" website in many respects, funny stuff happens but I don't think griefing is funny while you seem to.

I think threads like this are always going to lead to misunderstandings because they take comments out of context, mixing serious points with things I said as a joke.

I hope you don't lose any Bitcoins to scams.

I feel sympathy for those who have lost coins.  I realise that sometimes the stakes have been pretty high for people and they have lost a lot of money. I'm maybe not as sympathetic as I should be when the scams are completely obvious, like Pirate. I just don't understand how anyone could lack the critical faculties needed to spot such an obvious scam, and then ignore all the warnings too. I think it's just stupidity and lack of common sense on an incredible scale, and I guess feeling that way is a barrier to true empathy. Still, I feel sorry for them and I'd hate to think that anyone lost anything they couldn't afford to lose.

I also can see that losing a large number of coins to a scam would be a real personal tragedy for some people, and could really mess up their self esteem. I'd hate to think that my comments were taken seriously and contributed to any psychological effect like that, I  don't really think they did, judging by the responses I got, but who's to say? You took what I said seriously and I thought it was a patently ridiculous piece of comic theatre. Hopefully no one else did, but I suppose I should be more careful, and I will in future. I've never written anything on these forums with a desire to make someone miserable.

To everyone who lost coins in various Ponzi schemes: I am glad you had your money taken from you. You would only have spent it unwisely. I hope that you have been left at such a severe financial disadvantage that you are unable to look after your children and they are taken from you by the state so they can be looked after by people with better critical faculties than your own. If you don't yet have children, I hope that the financial loss leaves you stinking and in rags so you are unable to reproduce. Your genes should not be passed on to humanity.

If you wrote this, you *are* promoting bad behavior.  If you aren't part of the solution you are part of the problem, if you don't really care well that's (I guess) innocent enough but being glad is really a whole other level of sick.  You sound like a realtor, lol.

And here was I thinking you had a sense of humour! Don't you think that's a bit ridiculous and over the top for anyone to have said seriously? "Stinking in rags"? "Genes should not be passed on to humanity"? C'mon! Don't be ridiculous.

But even if I did mean all that from the bottom of my cold, evil heart, it still isn't "promoting thievery"

I think if you expect an apology you have another thing coming.

Really? That's a shame, because you have accused me of doing something with no evidence, based on your misunderstanding of quotes taken out of context and a joke. I think you definitely owe me an apology.

You seem to think you can say whatever you want here:

You seem to think that you can make accusations where you drag someone's name through the dust and associate them with stealing with absolutely no evidence. It's a pretty serious accusation, considering there are thefts here every day. I have never promoted thievery or condoned stealing. Ever. You are a dick for suggesting that I did. There are enough people here who will take your ridiculous statement as fact for it to damage my reputation. There are so many scams here, and so much fear of scamming, all it takes is one idiot like you throwing around accusations with no evidence for people to put 2 + 2 together to make 3.

Guys, the language is often harsh in this forum. This is scary for the newbies. Can we have more respect for each other?

Go fuck yourself, you cunt.

(This was to a relatively innocent seeming person with <20 posts.)

Hahaha. Man have you had a sense of humour bypass since we last spoke? I just don't think you get my dry, British sense of humour.

You were friendly enough to me, when I complimented you on what was (admittedly) a pretty hilarious hijinks.

I was friendly enough to take the time to repeat the joke to you even though you, a stranger, contacted me out of nowhere you mean. I'm friendly enough to anyone, unless I am being faux-harsh to them as a joke. But as you can see above, I'm usually so over the top harsh that I thought anyone would be able to see it for the joke that it is. I guess I have too much faith in people to not take everything at face value.

The only people I am not friendly to are those who try to damage my reputation with no evidence. At least everyone knows that Croppo is insane, I'm not worried about his gibberish, you seem reasonable and I'm worried people might take what you are saying at face value without looking into it themselves. I guess that is just the way it has to be, but I think it's pretty unfair for you to go running your mouth off with lies at my expense.

I'm not at all surprised that you would have positive feelings for someone who said you made a funny

Well, y'know, I thought we shared a sense of humour. Haha that's pretty funny now. I also didn't think you were just going to come in to this weird thread and start attacking me for no reason with a load of lies about me "promoting thievery". Not cool man.

Ahh I fucking love Bitcoin but this forum leaves a bad taste in my mouth sometimes.

You are denying the quotes above then?

There is nowhere in the quotes above that I "promote thievery"

If you are referring to the quote where I say "Stealing Bitcoin isn't a crime" then you have seriously misunderstood it. I was referring to the legal status of stealing Bitcoins, not the moral status. You should go to the thread in question and read the quote in context. It was in the legal forum, in the middle of a debate about the legal status of Bitcoin. The truth is that stealing Bitcoins has not been criminalized by any government. That was what I was talking about. You can read more about that in the thread I am referring to.

If you are referring to another quote that you have misunderstood then feel free to refer to it and I can it explain to you.

I do not condone the theft of Bitcoin. Discussion of the legal status of Bitcoin is not promotion of thievery. I have never "promoted thievery" here or anywhere else.

I think you owe me an apology.

You are a dick chuckles!

And you can't read, buddy. Please quote where I promote thievery.

I am absolutely blown away that someone could read all that gibberish this idiot has posted and actually take that from it.

And if you want to know his motives for posting it, just look at his posting history. I humiliated him in a debate we had, and this is his revenge, such as it is.

It contains absolutely nothing of substance, other than the fact I broke the dumb rules of an employment contract from an old employer (so what?) and that I like sex and gambling (again, big deal!)

There is absolutely nowhere that I "pretty much promote thievery". I have never done any such thing. Even Croppo, in his madness, hasn't even drawn any weird conclusion like that. You must have seriously misunderstood his post, go read it again.

Haha Augusto you're a sad little inadequate aren't you? I'm sorry that I humiliated you in a debate to such an extent that you have chosen me as some kind of enemy. If I had known that I would hurt your feelings then I wouldn't have engaged with you. I just didn't think a grown man of 34 years old could be so sensitive.

I'm not sure what is wrong with you. Maybe you haven't had much luck with women in your life. Maybe you don't have the life you hoped you would have at 34. Maybe you are just suffering from general social ineptitude. You clearly have a lot of time on your hands anyway. It's ok Augusto, it's ok. I don't mind. You can take it out on me. I'm a compassionate guy. I don't mind acting as a release valve for someone who is less fortunate than myself. Hate me if it makes you feel better.

My advice to you would be to let go though. I know that I made you feel small, but life is too short for this nonsense, don't you think? You are getting yourself all worked up about me, doing research into me and posting a big crazy thread, and it's obviously because you are hurting. And you are only hurting yourself more by not letting it go. The type of revenge you are taking is like drinking poison yourself and expecting me to die.

The internet isn't serious business Augusto. The Bitcoin forums do not matter. The thread you have posted is evidence of your own lack of sanity and little else.

Let go. You live in a beautiful country. I have had some incredible times there, so I know myself.  Go out and enjoy life. Relax and open your heart to happiness.

The user CharlieContent has a long history in this forum of contradictory statements. This user admits to support the Bitcoin Network, but at the same time he/she encourage any victim of fraud, scam or theft to not report the case to the authorities.

Let's review the past posts of this user. This is his first post and thread, where he/she declare his/her activities:

I’m a professional copywriter, based in London, with many years experience of writing for big clients. I’ve written for MTV, The British Army, Viacom International, Nickelodeon, and many other famous names, gaining experience across web, print and TV.

(...)

I’m currently on sabbatical from my job as a conceptual copywriter in a big London agency. I’m taking a year off to enjoy being a new father and support my wife, who sadly can’t afford the luxury of a long career break. I really want to keep my hand in (daytime TV is killing me! Too many of my old ads!) but the terms of my contract prohibit me from taking up any freelance work while I’m away. I think they won’t mind me hammering out a few thousand words for you guys though, just so long as I’m not doing work for their competitors.

The first post and thread of this user is a copy-and-paste of other announcements in the Internet:

http://www.bitcoinclassifieds.net/ad/571_Professional_copywriter_amateur_prices/

Thanks man. I think it's a pretty fair price too. I'd never usually work for so little, but this is a community, plus I love the idea of Bitcoin. I'd be surprised to see myself doing volume here anyway, it's just for a little Bitcoin pocket money.

I should probably also mention that I won't be cashing out whatever Bitcoins I may get paid to fiat, I'll be spending them. They'll stay in the economy for one more transaction at least. Smiley

You're a disgusting little cunt and I'm glad you've got even a tiny portion of what's coming for you. Your buddy Sabu hit the FBI. Do you know what that means? He's going to get caught. As soon as they catch him, the American's are going to try and extradite you under RICO laws. You've been seen on IRC handling their money and the Blockchain will confirm this. Under RICO legislation, that's enough to make you complicit.

You better hope and pray that the Dutch government doesn't roll over and extradite you. Either way you've got a tough autumn and winter coming up. You've bitten off more than you can chew here, son. I'd be very, very scared if I was you.

Haha, man, I thought you were a sockpuppet or at the very least a paid shill. Now you're saying you lost money? Ahahaha. You must feel like a complete retard now. Do you actually have downs syndrome or what? Classic. Good luck getting your money back on the 12th, you fucking dumbass. When will you people learn that Bitcoins can be stolen with complete impunity? No government in the world recognizes them as a currency, a commodity, or a financial instrument of any kind. Why on earth do you expect a government law enforcement agency to step in when you are dumb enough to be scammed out of your coins?

(...)

Stealing Bitcoin isn't a crime. You wanted a currency that exists outside of governmental systems, and now you've got one. Stop crying to the police when people steal them from you. It's YOUR responsibility to protect your coins. If you are too fucking stupid to do that, and you can't help yourself from just handing them to anyone who asks, then you shouldn't be involved in Bitcoin in the first place.

To everyone who lost coins in various Ponzi schemes: I am glad you had your money taken from you. You would only have spent it unwisely. I hope that you have been left at such a severe financial disadvantage that you are unable to look after your children and they are taken from you by the state so they can be looked after by people with better critical faculties than your own. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.1248808

Honestly, any sane person would tell you to fuck off. And I like Bitcoin, I think it is a neat idea, a fun gamble, and I currently hold roughly 5000 of them, but do you have any idea how stupid it sounds to everyone else in the entire world? And you want to phone up some guys parents and tell them that their son stole $25k worth of meaningless (to them), thin air Autism kroners?

If you think any regular person is going to take that phone call seriously, think again.

If something is intangible, non-physical, has no practical use, is unrecognized as a real thing by a court of law, can only be sold to a very small pool of people, and isn't money, then most people would have no problem writing it off as nothing of value. For a lot of people it would be written off as nothing at all, just incomprehensible nonsense.

(...)

I don't condone scamming, but c'mon, this is Bitcoin. It's the wild west of currency. People need to learn that they can't run to the government to help them when they lose their coins. But people CAN run to the government if someone tries to be violent, harass someone's family, or otherwise apply that same lawlessness to another situation. If you lose your coins, they are gone. That is Bitcoin. That is the whole point of Bitcoin. If you want government protection, there are lots of government backed currencies. Why not use one of them?

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.1249992

(...)

You talk as if my foul mouth ruined my amazing plan to build a business writing for Bitcoiners, when in fact all I was trying to do was keep my brain active while my child was napping and do my little bit to grow the Bitcoin economy.

You've just made yourself look like an idiot who is trying to smugly comment on a post he clearly didn't read and a situation he clearly didn't understand.

But even though it was just a little hobby, of course I didn't talk to customers or potential customers like this. I reserve this tone for mouth breathing, knuckle dragging, thick skulled evolutionary throwbacks like yourself.

I do enjoy mocking you, not because you are in an unfortunate situation but because you completely fail to understand why you are in that situation. If you had learned a hard lesson I would feel sorry for you and I certainly wouldn't be rubbing it in, but your complete lack of contriteness shows you haven't learned a thing. I'm not mocking you because you were dumb enough to be scammed. I am mocking you because you are so dumb that you don't seem willing or able to analyze that situation, realize where you went wrong, and learn from the experience. I don't just think you are stupid, I am blown away by your staggering inability to think. The great thing is that you are also arrogant, which allows me to give myself permission to find it hilarious without feeling like a vicious and mean bastard. The only thing that would make it unfunny is if you were responsible for anyone's welfare but your own. That would just be deeply sad.
